What's new

🛠️ What have you done to your F150 Tremor this week?

I’m old enough to remember those. I had a Specialized Stump Jumper made out of the M2 Duraclan or what ever it was ( aluminum and ceramic). Toughest, stiffest and lightest bike I have ever owned. I have always been to big and reckless to own anything carbon.
Yeah the stump jumper had no give, you felt the smallest pebble, most on here don't remember the days before full suspension caught up and basically took over. Heck when I started a suspension fork was just catching on, the first ones basically had different durometers of rubber rods to act as the cushioning, Manitou came out with a hydraulic front fork and it leaked like crazy, rock shox finally came out with a coil spring design mixed with hydraulics that set the market on fire, this was a few years before fox got into the market. Oh well sorry for hijacking the thread I guess enough reminiscing of old times.

I'm big into MTB but wasn't around in those early days so it's interesting to me!

Interesting, that was before my time I guess but not surprised it didn't do well. Joining dissimilar materials is always a challenge. Like a chain, the joint is only as strong as it's weakest component and I could probably crush the end of a CF bike tube in my hand. I guess you could try to reinforce the ends with lots of layers like they do with head tubes but that would add so much weight and stiffness it would cancel out the benefits of CF.
The Athertons are actually making bikes like this again with great results now that tech has caught up. They’re 3D printing titanium lugs and using CF tubes. Awesome bikes and you can customize your geo if you got the cash to splash.

Just looked at them. Interesting. Price is less than I expected but I'm not sure I like the look of them, not smooth with the joints. Most people don't know enough about bike geometry to order the right size by looking at a spec sheet but I guess there are the few exceptions that would want a custom geo.

It depends on the type of riding, whether you want a fast handling bike or a slow cruiser, just the head angle alone can make a world of difference. Reminiscing scene, 1998 or there abouts, a buddy and I went to 24hrs of snowshoe, before the race started we were hitting the vendors, they had the latest at the time long travel rock shox, 3.5 ", without thinking about it throwing the geometry and therefore throwing the handling off I had them install it quick. That course was not easy to begin with, add in what I just did and I went over the bars 17 times in the first lap, before I got used to the handling.

100%. I'm not a big mod guy. To my eyes, the truck looks perfect right out of the box, that's one reason I bought it -- don't need to change wheels, tires, grill, etc. Oh, except that unfinished eyesore around the rear wheels had to go immediately!

Tuxmats are out for delivery today since the stock carpet mats are a joke for my use (although the logo looks nice). That'll be the extent of my mods unless something else gets under skin, you guys convince me otherwise (stop, please!), or @Cblaxx19 readies the grill light for market.
I have those mats in my truck and absolutely love them

Installed my Softopper today. It’s really well made and though out! Pretty excited about the versatility, this things going to be great in the winter and wet camping days. Digging “Safari Mode” as well!

Upgraded the system. Hits real nice now.

I had them in my ‘22 F250; they were ok, rubber was super pliable so I couldn’t see them ever curling, the new design at least.

I found someone who can make the Tremor decals for the husky mats…can’t decide to be cheap, go full coverage with tux mat, or have Tremor OEM look with husky…
You guys talked me into the tuxmat. I couldn’t help myself and ordered some custom vinyl stickers. Looks ok, likely won’t stay on forever but it was. $6 gamble to see if I could make it look more OEM!

Got pics with it down? Is this like leave on all the time or take it on and off?

I have been debating the TuxMats. Question for all you TuxMat fan boys. Can you easily pull the mat out and shake it off and throw it back in? I am always using my mats to change out of shoes into riding boots at the dunes, or taking wet sandals off on the launch ramp. I use the mat to stand on to keep my feet from getting dirty or burnt. Mats are always full of sand after a trip and I just pull them out and shake them off. All the clips look like a pain and a maintenance item if continually take them on and off.

I just came back from a long weekend at the beach. Even launching my boat twice and having a sandy 14 month old, it was super easy to clean when I got back. And most important, no sand/salt water even got on the carpet because of the full coverage.

Or say, using them for a winch rope weight...

You still running steel? Or do you weight your synthetic too? (I never weight mine)

I keep an old welcome mat in the bed of the truck for this exact reason. It’s been amazing. Combined with the camp chair that lives in the bed It’s peak after ride, beach, tubing comfort.

Actually the wife and I i were out at Thunder Mountain today dong some riding and this was waiting on me when I got

Good idea, but one more thing to pack. So, no on easily taking them in and out? I might go with the MAXpider ones.
