What's new

🛠️ What have you done to your F150 Tremor this week?

Stuffed the intake on between swarms of mosquitos last night.

I’ve seen kits for this, how much was this one?
This one. Unsure where I got it but it was on sale for like $350 I think (been sitting a bit)

Does this seal against the hood? Otherwise why would you want to draw in hot underhood air?
FL air is hot as shit anyway so not much diff and I just wanna hear them sweet sweet whoop whoop noises :ROFLMAO:

Jokes aside - It seals pretty good and the stiffer/larger scoop is loads better than the oem one that likes to collapse on itself so, even if I do get a little bit of HAI, it should at least even out a bit. I don't expect much out of it beyond noise at the moment...more a means to an end.

Installed the ARB twin compressor into the truck and got it wired up nice and clean. Purchased the Morrflate 4 way system for it. I tried it out. Airing down from 35- 15PSI took 1m30sec. Airing up from 15-35PSI took exactly 10 minutes.

Well, the power went out this evening, so I decided to drive around and see if I could figure out why because it’s on one street away from us.

I don’t have any answers about the power yet, but I did get a chance to do a vehicle recovery- two nice gentlemen with a partially loaded UHaul box truck (one of the small-midsized ones) slid off the road on an icy hill. (I couldn’t even get traction to reverse up the hill in 2WD, so pretty slick, though too warm to be an ice sheet.)

Hooked up the Yankum and in 4L the truck just pulled them right up the hill with no slippage at all. Love to the Baja Boss A/Ts as well. Not a complicated recovery but at least I got a chance to test out the truck’s capabilities a bit more.

I don’t have any good photos. This is all I got from once we made it up the hill.

Husky mats arrived a few days ago and were promptly installed, Garmin Mini 2 dashcam + Dongar power tap snagged out of my previous F-150 likewise.

I just got an email that my Diamondback Switchback had shipped so either they are getting shipments of the new clamps to use on Fords in already or a month or two after the cover shows up I'll get a replacement set of the new post recall clamps, lol.

Snow tires have arrived at Discount Tire, still waiting on the wheels and TPMS kit from Ford to arrive. 😩

Not much 14hr work days since the new year 🤑😆
But added a Tremor decal to the back seat air vents and it looks pretty good like something should've been there to start with and finally stuck the Weather Techs in (yeah he's a little dirty in the pics) still about 50ish degrees so I'm sure they mold better once it starts warming up.
I took the ones out of my 15 and put them in the 23 tremor. They fit perfect and they still look like they're brand new

Finished the lights last week. They are Nightrider Jet Black Series. Lower grille has 3 floods and 2 spots. Upper pillars are 2 spots. All now have amber lens covers. Wired into factory aux switches.

If you don’t mind me asking, are you using a specific mount or custom for the bottom grill. Install looks super clean 👌, thinking of doing the same with mine

Thank you! I did use a pre made mount. I got it from @SpaceWhiteF150 I highly recommend it. Not going to lie, paying the duty on it hurt, real bad. However, it’s such a piece of art and so well built it’s definitely worth it.

I installed a garmin power switch to give me 6 additional switches. Yes, I’ve consumed my 6 upfitters with various lighting.

I chose the garmin because their app supports CarPlay. I didn’t want to mount and wire another switch panel in the cab somewhere. So now I can control 6 seperate switches from the dash screen. I can also setup custom groups to turn on selected accessories together. It also has to trigger inputs so you can set certain accy to turn on if one of the triggers is active ie. Ignition power.

I intend to move my less used, passive lighting (like back lighting, chase lights, etc.) to it and free up the upfitters for more used items.

So far I’m a fan of it. It’s a nice unit. I want to make a nicer mount for it than just sitting it on the fuse box cover though.

I will say, I wish the app would let me import a picture or something as an icon. That might be too busy, but I need to play around with customizing the buttons and look a little more.

Looks like you did a nice job !! Nice Work.

Not the best picture, but I stumbled on a great used Smartcap so I jumped on it!

What's the best way to tie in the third brake light, run a cable to the factory chmsl wire in the engine compartment? I'm excited to get some truck projects done that have been waiting on this to get installed.

Love my SmartCap. Give them a call and order their wiring harness for the brake light. Installation was a breeze and no splicing required.

Thanks, I'll give them a buzz tomorrow. It just Tees into the brake light, correct? And no issues with it? I don't know why Ford put the connection all the way up front. Probably to save the 3 cents on the extra wire to the back end...

Received my Iowa title yesterday so took that down today to get my MT title & plates today. Put the rear plate on, debating my best move for the front. We're supposed to display them in this state AFAIK.

Found a front plate bracket with a couple of pop rivets in a poly bag under the rear seat but no instruction sheet so need to find that so I know what it's supposed to look like installed and how to. If it's going to look like crap I might want to check out aftermarket solutions.

Humor: Got a text this morning that my Diamondback delivery was scheduled for next Tuesday. Got a phone call one hour later asking if I'd like it delivered Friday (tomorrow) 😂
Said yes, arriving most likely by noon.
