What's new

🛠️ What have you done to your F150 Tremor this week?

Man registration in this state sure is a kick in the wallet... If you have trouble finding any instructions on mounting the front plate I can take some pics of mine for ya.

Thank you, I'll poke around a bit with search engines while armed with a part number, if I fail miserably I'll ask for the assist. (y)

Thanks, I'll give them a buzz tomorrow. It just Tees into the brake light, correct? And no issues with it? I don't know why Ford put the connection all the way up front. Probably to save the 3 cents on the extra wire to the back end...
Correct, just a plug and play harness. Made for a very clean and trouble free install. Have had mine for a year now and no issues on that front.

Slapped on a Undercover flex tonneau and some AVS smoked rain guards.

Had a good and bad day working on the tremor last night. Although i was able to do the easy FORscan changes like turn on Bambi mode, Disable double honk, and enable global windows, I was unsuccessful in getting my Raptor headlights to operate properly.

Initially things were looking good! When the truck was off (no ignition, no accessory power) the raptor headlights operated as expected with DRL as Turn enabled (726-38-02 xxx0-xxxx); Dim DRL, and turned brighter when you hit the unlock button on the Fob. @Cblaxx19 grille lights remained unphased.

When I turned on ACC power to test everything on the headlights it all fell apart. Low beam came on, High beams came on and operated normally, HCM seemed to be working as the headlights self-adjusted and "Wig-Wagged". However, the DRL's were off, and turn signal did not operate, only Hyperflash. The DRL's only worked (albeit without turn signal) when DRL as Turn was NOT enabled even though it's set to enabled on a raptor's BCM.

There's something I'm missing...maybe theres more settings in FORscan I need to change, is it possible that the pin-out in the headlight plugs is different than that of tremors, or standard F150's? Maybe the ballasts are different raptor vs f150?

Not the best picture, but I stumbled on a great used Smartcap so I jumped on it!

What's the best way to tie in the third brake light, run a cable to the factory chmsl wire in the engine compartment? I'm excited to get some truck projects done that have been waiting on this to get installed.

Must say, I'm not a cap guy, but damn, thats probably the best one I have seen!!👍🏻

Finished mounting quick connect pins for aluminum tailgate extender my son and I built last month. We coated it with bed liner to match. The 5’6” bed is ok for hauling dirt bikes but you need a gate for the loose items cause they can get away.

It has never taken me so long to do an oil change, but in my defense it was the first one i had done on the Tremor.
Took me a couple minutes to find the drain plug- i did stop to admire the zip tie job on the cover. Then i couldnt get the drain plug off with my trusty wrench so i got out my impact (harbor freight 20v). Problem was it didnt fit...maybe in part to only having a deep socket 15mm that fit the tool.
Spent 20 minutes looking for breaker bar (moved in December, been too cold to organize garage). Turns out not enough room to turn the bar so thought i would jack up vehicle.
New jack said to fill up/top off hydraulic fluid. Small town, no place open that would have any and 20 minute drive to wally world.
Cleared out remaining snow and got out the ramps. Took two seconds with the breaker bar and i was on my way.
Until the the filter.
I tried wiggling in my filter wrench but that was a no go from below...i tried and i knew it would be on too tight per the drain plug. But relatively quickly i found the wrench would balance on the filter and i could reach from above. Got the foot stool out, made a few groaning noises and one swear word and that got loose.
Oh, also put on the valvomax. Hope it is on tight enough- not a lot of room there for tightening.

Tomorrow stores will be open to get the fluid so i can use my jack so i can change the brake pads and rotors. Then tuesday will be spark plugs and a few visual mods. Not sure how the tailgate will come out but will post pics when finished.
The yak shaving continued into the night- i went to ATM to get cash as stores charge more for card. First ATM the screens werent working, the recent cold effed them up. Went to the second ATM and requested $125. The last $20 was stuck, i couldnt get it out. The machine tried to suck it back up but it got jammed and ended my transaction. I tried taking out another 20, kinda like a vending machine but it wouldnt spit out either old or new 20. At least it didnt charge me for the latter effort.

Cheers!

Husky mats arrived a few days ago and were promptly installed, Garmin Mini 2 dashcam + Dongar power tap snagged out of my previous F-150 likewise.

I just got an email that my Diamondback Switchback had shipped so either they are getting shipments of the new clamps to use on Fords in already or a month or two after the cover shows up I'll get a replacement set of the new post recall clamps, lol.

Snow tires have arrived at Discount Tire, still waiting on the wheels and TPMS kit from Ford to arrive. 😩
What snow tires did you get?

Nokian Hakkapeliitta LT3 studded, stock LT275 /70 R18 size.
Wheels still haven't shown up. I'll have them put on in place the current tires this Friday if they still haven't shown up, then raise hell at the Ford parts counter if 2.5 weeks has turned into 4+ without a valid explanation.

Other notes: Bedliner will be shot Thursday and tonneau installed right after. Will decide on final details of tint and mud flaps while those are getting done.
Found a diagram for front license plate bracket online, installed without incident.

Even tho the middle is matte i think the f150 stickers turned out ok.
Ya i am a dead head...who knows when the personalized plates will come in.

Look good! Are those from TufSkinz? They are on my list once it gets warmer enough to apply them here.

Yup, tufskinz. It wasnt quite warm enough here either. I have the pro power package and plugged in the hair dryer i got for her (she doesnt know i had other motives) and heated up the metal with it. Was a little pain but not too bad. Seems to have adhered well.

Nothing very exciting to report here, but I did take advantage of the warmer weather and get a few things done. I mounted up my Weboost antenna on my new Smartcap. I had it mounted using the Ram mount on a stake pocket mount, so I just got a Ram mount ball with a T-track mount and moved it to the top of the Smartcap. I've just run the cable down the front of the Smartcap using some magnetic zip tie bases. Pretty unnoticeable and beats drilling through the Smartcap roof anyway. I also went ahead and got some wire to hook up to the third brake light using the connection provided under the airbox int he engine compartment. Better than paying $197 for the same wire from Smartcap!

I wanted some additional USB ports in the back seat, so I got this little USB port piece rom Powerworx and have it sitting next to the Weboost unit under the back seat. Will be great (I hope) for extra charging points for back seat passengers, without having to have cables draped across the floorboard. I also have a Noco jump pack that stays inthe back seat, with this I can leave it plugged in to stay topped off. I might move an extra emergency flashlight back there and keep it plugged in too. I hooked it up to the Aux switches.

Ya, can be a little intimidating as you only have one shot. But they are actually a touch small which makes it easier i found. The dry fitting really helps on the back ones so you can game plan how you place it. I used the angles as my guide. I kinda got the 0 off a bit but you cant tell too much. You will do fine, just dont close your eyes!

Has anyone added powerfold mirrors to their 401A. Please message me, I’d like to know part numbers and the harness used! I found a good deal on AMB mirrors and wanted to add!!!

Been looking at the step letters. Just skeptical how well the will stick to the textured surface on the steps…any thoughts?
