What's new

🛠️ What have you done to your F150 Tremor this week?

2 inch pucks installed and front windows tinted. I gotta tell ya, this is the first vehicle of mine I went legal and I am not so sure I like the tint. Granted I don't need to worry about the BS every year during inspection but not having the windows mat,h is driving me crazy. I'll see but I may get them retinted in the near future.
Getting ready to order AutoSpring 2.5" which brand did you get. any pics of before/after

HD or SE? Can you get some more angles? This is exactly what I'm going for on my Atlas Blue (+cleats, minus rails for now); only thing holding me back is how smooth the Retrax looks.
Sorry was on vacation, it's the HD.
I'll take a few tomorrow

What do you do when you have something large to put back there? Do you take the whole thing off? Like what would you do if you had to put a couch back there?

I like these covers. I’m just not sure it would be practical for my needs.
Yeah, it's only 4 bolts, if I was hauling large items regularly then it wouldn't be practical, but since I plan on mounting my tent on it...it fits my need.

I'll take a pic this morning when the sun comes up. I went with Auto Spring and love the look. Slight rake remains which I am fine with for a while but will do an actual suspension lift down.the road.

I have the Husky Liner in the rear. Oh, also sitting at the tint shop paying another $190 to strip the tint installed yesterday and install darker. Never doing legal again.
Oh ok, it looked like the same color as the truck but maybe just the photo.

What brand/% did you have and what are you going with?

Was going to leave the rear alone and go a shade lighter in the front, but not sure anymore. Ohio's legal limit is 50%, but I've never been bothered with 30-35% on other cars.

The back windows read 25% from the factory, I first went with 32.5% and could not stand it, legal limit in NC is 32% for refference. I swapped over to 24% on the front windows today and looks way better. A closer match to the rear windows for sure.

How are you getting inspection done, they have really cracked down on that lately it seems. I want to do mine too.

Ordered a Cobb tubing coolant overflow tank cover Friday night..... for my truck that's on order ..
Damn you forum!!!
I understand. I already have a Diamondback HD cover in my garage. And I will likely have a CAI, intercooler, wheels, tires, and a stubby antenna before my truck arrives. The leveling kit and tint can't be done before I get the truck or they would be too! :ROFLMAO:

I don't know how strict they are in NC, but I always have darker than legal tint here in TX. Heck, I even ran most of my performance cars without cats and still got inspected. You can usually find someone to ignore the issue for some, let's call it, monetary persuasion.

I have had illegal tint for all 7 years I have lived in NC. You have to find a place that is willing to look the other way. You can also get a photo sensitivity waver from a doctor and submit that to the state for approval. With this waver you can go as low as 20% and they cannot fail you at inspection with this certification.

So when I was in high school we always just slipped the guy a $20 and he passed us no problem. But a couple years ago they really started cracking down on inspection places for passing people.

I didn't didn't know about the possibility to get a doctors note. I had chemo ten years ago (supposed to stay out of the sun) and I have scars all over my left forearm from a 100 mph bike crash. I might look into this.

Print this out and take it to your doctor, most don't care and will fill it out for you.

Here in Mass the inspection places are all monitored by big brothers cameras at all times. I just get the max legal unfortunately. I’ve talked to others who just redo their tint every year.
