What's new

🛠️ What have you done to your F150 Tremor this week?

Yes, I meant the glare free headlights in lieu of the auto high beams. I have the 402a, so I already had the bending headlights but now they seem extra sensitive. Before, I only noticed them bend when in a full turn like a side road or intersection. Now, they move with the slightest movement of the steering wheel. Sometimes I have noticed going around a curve the lights bend so much that I loose light on the outside of the curve because they shift to the inside of the curve. Might just be me obsessing over it trying to notice the differences.

For the DRLs, its listed on the common mods tab and I found a post talking about them on another forum. I was curious so wanted to give it a try. My truck was set at "0A", which according to that post is only 10%. I think most people who want a brighter DRL are after the brightness that the Super Duty's are rocking.

For what it's worth my 402a is stock as far as lighting goes and the headlights bend if you basically breathe on the steering wheel haha. Maybe yours have always been sensitive (like mine) and you are just now noticing it since you made a change?

I think your right; probably just my OCD!!

I would like to get a final feel for adding a catch can or not. 2022 3.5L. Thoughts? anyone who has it experience any issues/advantages/disadvantages, etc ?
I have been thinking about the options on this as well. One of my buddies is a long time Ford mechanic and recommends that we should be running a catch can, regardless of the new gen dual injection system - mostly for preventative maintenance. He has a 2019, and installed one as soon as he got it. Also, I just ran into this video posted by FordTechMakuloco (great source of Ford info, if your not already aware) last night with some real world comparisons of the older gen vs new gen EcoBoost valve caking issues.

At this point, I will likely install one on mine, just not sure which one to get and if I should get a dual or not to cover the driver side also.

Christmas started early since we were traveling to VT.

Lots of upgrades!
Gator retractable bed cover
Opt7 led tailgate light bar
Rigid industries bed side panels
Radstraps
Tremor seatbelt pads

Good for you! I’m curious to see the tail light bar installed and how clean it looks and quality of lighting.

Quality seems pretty good. The strip is in an aluminum channel and clear epoxied in so I’m not concerned for water issues. I played with the lights a little and they look solid. They have an amber sequential turn signal function, along with red brake lights, and white reverse light mode.

I installed my Titan intercooler over the weekend. No pictures for this mod... :ROFLMAO:

I can say that the SOTP dyno is not certain the truck is any faster (from a response standpoint or initial acceleration), but it does seem to feel stronger while pulling at higher speeds. I'll be curious to see how the truck performs when it's warmer here too.

I can say that I found the Titan intercooler to be a very high quality piece. It dwarfed the OEM intercooler in size and weight. I'm definitely happy with the purchase and would recommend it to anyone who is considering it. The install was very straightforward and simple as well!

Has anyone put tow mirrors on their Tremor?

I installed mine last week. I’ll check it soon to see what it looks like.

At least your buddy didn't swing the door open into a brick wall as he was getting into the truck when it was about 36 hours old.
How many bottles of bourbon to forget that happened?

Which one did you end up installing?

They're amazingly mediocre 😆 I only do well with instructions (former engineer).

Yes sir, at the least the lights themselves; someone (JHForman812) over on the other forum makes 2 harnesses to plug and play. I ordered the following -

Varsity Ford (several dealers had similar pricing) - They were in stock last week and shipped from a Ford warehouse here in Ohio.
Part Number
Part Name
Price
Quantity
Total
ML3Z-1513562-CB
Cup Holder

Wiring Assembly Interior Lamp (e.g. Media Lamp)

Harnesses were $80 shipped from JHForman812. Other than that, I used a slim metal pry tool to get up the trim, and also a metal trim removal tool to remove some of the christmas tree fasteners under the glove box; if you've disassembled any vehicle interiors, there will be no surprises.
How did this process? You order the harness listed, then mail it to the forum member and he sends it back with the adjustments?

I've heard arguments from both sides on the catch cans. Is there a consensus on the forum of they're actually needed or not?
It's along the same line as 5.0 vs 3.5 EB. Basically many have opinions and it's really about you. I am burying my head in the sand hoping nothing comes of my inaction and failure to add a catch can.

My 2012 FX4 Ecoboost went 170K miles before trading it in for my 2022 Tremor. Never had any engine issues except for timing chain cover leak. I would expect this new engine to do even better. I know the coking is a big issue on the Chevy engines, which is a big reason I stuck with Ford.

It is not necessarily a catch can solve but using Top Tier fuels versus not.

Finally got the spray in done (not at the local LineX place), Rhino lining and installed the Bak X4s tonneau cover. Should probably run it through the wash to get the salt off the under carriage.
