Which Tires to get?

I recently replaced my stock Generals at 45,000 miles. I could have easily got 10,000 more miles on them, but wanted better tread going into winter. Very pleased with them.
Because of this thread, it piqued my interest in the Faulken AT4W tires. Have 4,000 miles on them and very pleased. Low noise on the highway, run them at 38-40 psi. Lost right around 1-mpg in gas mileage.
What size? I'm at 35k on my Grabbers and would like to step up to 35in tires on the stock wheels. Debating on leveling but overwhelmed by the options.

You’re jumping into a big can of opinions so be prepared.

I run 285/75r18 recon grapplers on stock rims. I do have a 2” level though if I did it again I would get the KO3 or another set of the generals. I really liked how they did in the snow and they performed well off road

if getting MT Baja AT and getting a coil over, have folks been able to fit 305/70/18 stock wheels without rub in full articulation/lock?

Baja AT seems good except for weight and some faster wear from what I hear.

295/70r18 without lift and no rub

Stock size, 275/70R/18. We have had a lot of rain this week, I have spent much time on the road and very pleased with the AT4W’s.

Nitto Ridge Grappler 35x12.5
Level no rub

I like the MT Baja Boss ATs. After the first alignment, I didn't have issues with rubbing, then I took it in again for some fine tuning and now it occasionally rubs the free end of the wheel well cover on one side at full turn when articulating a small amount. That said, I had no issues when articulating a good deal while off-roading recently, so it's hard to say. Running 35x12.50R18T, but Method Racing MR317 wheels. Same diameter as stock, but possibly a different offset.

Are y'all noticing a considerable worse ride with E rated tires vs the Grabbers which are SL?

I can't give up my cushy ride....

Also any noticable diff with significantly heavier tires?

More firm ride, yes. It is a trade off. I have noticed a slight impact to acceleration, not much as the 500 tq is plenty.

I am running the Falken Wildpeak AT4W’s, (stock size), on stock rims. I am inflating them to 39psi, and i haven’t noticed a difference in the ride quality. I did take a small hit on fuel economy, (1-2 MPG’s), due to the 10 ply sidewall, but it was worth it.

Stock tire size or did you go larger?

Stock tire size. I am planning to order the Halo Lift package in the spring, but I’m only going up 3/4” to 1”. I tow a boat so I want a little rake.

Anyone else have dry rott issues with Nitto? I had a warranty full replacement done on mine. Only a year old and they had dry rott so bad it cause a flat in one tire.

the new nitto terra grappler 3 looks interesting. They have 275/70/18 in SL rating. high rating for snow .

Remember, Nittos’ tend exaggerate on their size specs meaning a little narrower.

I'm going to have my local tire retailer get them and take a look. They don't mind sending them back to the distributor if not what you want.

Only 5k miles with them but so far Toyo RT Trails have impressed me on snow, road and trails.
