What's new

2014 F-150 Limited to 2024 F-150 Tremor 402A Coyote V8

I did put a Husky Hood Protector on it , It was under 100.00 , Looks great. It doesn't do anything for the bugs, but works great for the rocks.
It does everything for the Bugs but the Rocks NO Sorry about that. Doing too thing at once!!

Congrats and welcome to the wallet suck, you made a good choice. As they say, where there is a will there is a way. I look forward to seeing your progress.

Tampa , Florida Elder Ford, Didn't get the color I wanted tho. Antimatter Blue !! It's ok, Like Black. All my other trucks were Black. You got a pretty good Buy. Mine was new on the lot, after I drove it it had 42 miles on it . I got mine 6/5/24 , put 7200 miles on it. I have changed the oil in it 4 times , first oil change was 1000 miles. It's it a bitch to do. The only up grade I have done is a set of old rim and M/T tires on it, I use for off road. I have another set of 20' rims and tires I'll run next hunting season. It's muddy here in Florida where I hunt !! Enjoy that V-8 , Just try and Keep up !! HA , HA !! I see your in M- Florida, Cool

Cool beans. See, I couldn't take the Anitmatter Blue. I wanted Black and Black was what I was going to HAVE, just like my 2014 Limited.....and I went to Texas to get it. Haha. That said, by all means, AS LONG AS YOU ARE HAPPY, that is ALL that matters!

As for the price I got, yea, I know. It's not my best work, but, it was by NO means a bad deal.....AT ALL. The salesman chided me a few times about it, but, you know what? It helped him hit a mid-month bonus by the next day, and, it's not like he won't make it up with someone else.....the damn truck had been sitting for like 7 months anyway. It had 19 miles on it when I picked it up.

As for the oil changes, why so many already? I am absolutely RELIGIOUS about changing it every 5,000 miles with a Mobil 1 Filter, and FULL Synthetic Mobil 1 Extended Performance Oil (and once it's at 75,000 miles, the Extended Performance High Mileage oil of the same brand). I'm genuinely curious here.....

As others have suggested, other than slight things (maybe Ambient Lighting and whatnot), I think that I may well just enjoy it in its stock form for now.....that way, it becomes new again once I finally "change something". I'll run those General Grabbers down, and then decide what to do from there.

As for the V8, I sure as hell will. The EcoBoost engines will be around for a WHILE yet, but, the V8 will (likely) soon be a dead breed, and I just wanted the opportunity to have one last one, and hear the bald eagles fly, and see American Flags every time I drove it. Haha.

Welcome - sounds like you have a fun road ahead of you. Definitely agree with PNW and others - the benefit of enjoying the stock truck first is that - when the initial enthusiasm starts to wear off, the next big mod will give you a brand new fix . . rinse and repeat. This forum will definitely help you spend your money. I would browse through the Tremor of the month contest threads - not just the current one, go back a few months. If that doesn't get your juices rolling, I don't know what will.

Thanks for the welcome! I think, other than minor things like Ambient Lighting, that's exactly what I will do. Haha @ the spending money comment. I'm SURE that it will! And, you know what? I LOOK FORWARD TO IT! This is my first BRAND NEW vehicle EVER, and, I am going to make it MINE. I will take a look through those threads that you recommended in due time.

Thanks again!

Cool deal. Should I ever get around to offroading down here in Miami, that's certainly a consideration I will make.

Thank you! I LOVE your logic there, as I'm sure it was a nod to my projector headlight hardheadedness. Haha. All in due time, all in due time.....

Hey All,

I am officially a member of the F-150 Tremor club now. This past weekend, I picked up my 2024 F-150 Tremor 402A Coyote V8 in Texas, and drove it back home to Miami. I got a decent enough deal/pretty damn good deal.....certainly not my BEST work ever, but enough to where I was indeed quite satisfied, and pulled the trigger, especially considering the (albeit brutal at 36 months) 0.9% interest offer with the current economic climate. That said, I have various ideas in mind as it pertains to what I wish to "mod" about it over time, however, I'm not exactly sure where I should post them, so that I may get some guidance from more seasoned members of the Forum. Perhaps I should enumerate them in a list here, and then pick at each idea individually? Anyway, this is my first official NEW vehicle ever at 36 years old, and while I wish to ensure that I do things exactly how I "want", more importantly, IT IS IMPERATIVE TO ME THAT I DO THEM CORRECTLY. I am a "do it right, or don't do it AT ALL" type of person. If you can't afford to do something right, you either don't do it, or wait until you can afford to do it. That has always been my governing philosophy, and it has served me very well throughout my entire life. Anyway, I truly look forward to collaborating and sharing my truck's progress over time going forward!
Never happened without a picture of the Truck........

Congrats on the new Tremor and welcome to the forum @skippinjack 🍻 +1 for photos!

Not that I owe anyone any kind of explanation, and not that I appreciate the terse doubt, but, here it is right after I picked it up, parked, in Downtown San Antonio. I just hadn’t gotten around to uploading any yet.

"Terse"? Nope. Just love seeing pics of these trucks. Many great build ideas come from shared pictures of them.

Thanks for sharing.

My Dad was a Master Mechanic, owned Lang Motor Co. here , had about 6 or 7 mechanic work for him and my uncle. They did everything !! He told me when it comes to turbos you can't change the oil to much. New truck 1000 miles oil change. Oil is cheep repairs are 85.00 to 125.00 Hour . Cam phasers Ford has a problem with them, Change the oil, No problem !! My last 3 trucks was a FX4 16-2.7 , 18 FX4-3.5 , 20 FX4-2.7 and now Tremor with 3.5 New , all Turbos, I put 60000 miles on all of them and run them pretty Hard. Never had an issue with any one of them !! I change the plugs at 30000 miles , air filter every 7000 miles , on everything. Just me. I run Pennzoil Ultra Platinum from Walmart its cheep or get it on eBay. 26.00. That's just the way I roll . We still have the 16,18,and the 20 in the family ! There hand me Downs ! No issue's yet. I take my truck to the Dealer for Scheduled Maintenance, where I don't have a problem with Ford ! I think that's 10000 miles is my first Maintenance. As I said I have changed my oil 4 times and it's only got 7200 miles on it. on the 2016 the turbos went out at 28000 miles they were leaking oil throw them, Blowing oil on start up, looked like a bug fogger !! Enjoy your New Truck !

Thanks! This community just seems so amazing, welcoming, AND well read. Thus, I look forward to continuing to engage with you all going forward.

That said, I’m actually not a huge “modder” by definition, as a general rule. But, I still “want things the way that I want them”, within reason. I welcome the advice of the individual that you mentioned at any time. The mods that you have elected to do are certainly interesting, and ones which I might indeed consider myself in due time…..the one that peaks my interest the most is the airbags. What exactly have you done there?…..I never really thought of a mod for those! As for Rear Wheel Well Liners, that’s already done. Dealership did it for me as a courtesy (literally), even after I signed all paperwork and everything. It was a great gesture on their part.

As for tint, as I mentioned above to another user, DEFINITELY. I’ll probably hit up Brian’s Window Tinting in Hollywood (they use Flexfilm Panaflex, and I haven’t really had problems with it), unless you have further guidance. I’m all ears.

Thanks again for the welcome!
Air bags in the rear to help with squat when towing. Here's a link to the kit: https://www.airliftcompany.com/shop/57355

You'll only need/want it if you're towing. I purchased mine off Amazon but figured a link to the manufacturer's page would be a better example. Ignore their MSRP. I think I paid $350 or so.

Gotcha. I more read it as a "prove that you got one" type of thing. I was like "Why in the HELL would I just randomly join some place so specific if I hadn't gotten/was going to get one?" My apologies for misinterpreting. And you are welcome. I look forward to continuing to share progress.....specifically when my hardheaded self figures out those damn LED projector headlights, and WHATEVER NEEDS TO BE DONE AT ANY COST to get them going on my 24. 😜

Check out my Tremor build and other's to get build ideas for your truck. We are more than happy to help you spend all your money.

Well, I certainly wouldn’t consider it any kind of major “mod”, but, this was the FIRST “change”: LED tag bulbs. I used the Phillips 194WLEDs from Amazon that someone else here had suggested. They work great, and look SO much better!

For all you that might know the wright way to go ? Lift in the Front no more than 2.5 or 2" . I have read so much + or - on here about it. I'm OCD when it come's to things like that. All my other trucks had 2.5 Leveling kit on them. help
BillfLang: Did you deal with Maurice at Elder? He's the BEST car salesman I've ever encountered and that includes MB, Porsche, Land Rover and Bently/RR. I was buying my '24 at the same time as you and had to buy from Bill Currie, even though Maurice had just left to go back to Elder (which sold: I know Rob Elder and had 'the' connection for Ford for so many years because of that) because my '24 Raptor R was coming in and I wanted to cancel and get the Tremor and sell the Raptor R to a friend.

Get the Tremor Orange tow hooks and EXHAUST. I added a Corsa Extreme set up because, in the words of the Blonde, "I'm insane" but it sounds incredible and NO drone. You can DIY in a couple of hours, couldn't be easier. I'd strongly suggest leveling and I put 35's on the stock rims with black lug nuts and it looks amazing. Very little rub and only at some weird angles, which rarely happens anywhere else except backing out of my driveway...
After that, hang around here more and find endless ways to spend $$$$$$$ on your Tremor.
