What's new

2022 Tremor Changes (ex: Wireless Charger, HVAC Knobs, etc.)

Well apparently they needed to save 30 cents somewhere on their $70,000 truck lol
I expect it saved a microchip, so expedited build process. Just a guess though. Still, pretty annoying that they deleted it.

Very easy install. The lights are accessed from behind the rear bumper. Lay on your back beneath the truck and you can reach them. Just twist the light sockets counter-clockwise, pull out the $%@! halogen bulbs, plug in the LED bulb, insert the socket back into the light housing, then turn the socket clockwise to lock it in place. Just be sure to line up the tabs on the sockets before twisting them and be sure that the gasket on the socket seals properly.
Seems like a quick 10 (if that) minute install.

Crazy to me there's no glovebox light...
The ambient lights may not be noticeable to a new 150 owner…. If you never had it you probably won’t know what you’re missing….I personally had a lariat before the tremor so I would miss the ambient lighting for sure….. it’s a nice luxury feel…. I always thought new model years should entice you to want the latest greatest by adding to NOT taking away…… the charging station has never worked for my iPhone due to the case that protects it…… so bad trade off imho….. and charging more for it is bothersome…… side note-I was thrilled the removal of the dash button to keep engine from stopping at red lights was an awesome thing….. and a $50 credit on top of that was extra bonus…..

The latest order guide (1/27, presumably for job 2) shows ambient lighting with 402A; this was not in the prior 22MY order guides I found. I don't want to link directly since it is labeled proprietary, but it is over on the F150 14th gen forums (screenshot attached).

Are trucks built after 1/27 Job 2 or orders received after 1/27 considered Job 2? I ordered 12/14 and have a scheduled build week of 2/21. Would I be Job 1 or Job 2?

I think the latter, ordered after, if the sources over on the other forum are accurate. Yours would then be a Job 1.

"Final 22MY F-150 Job #1 orders are due on Thursday, January 27. Spec changes and cancellation will be shut off on Thursday, January 27."

Well, shoot, I got excited for a minute there, b/c I ordered mine min-January. Dangit.

Glare in the backup camera? I’m debating between getting these because they are right down the road and no shipping cost, or the Diode Dynamics hp3 because they are not as bright, but still brighter and white. But I saw someone posted a pic of the hp3 and they seemed to just quite not match the rest of the truck’s lights. Just slightly duller. But I don’t want a glare in my camera either. Decisions, decisions…

@rkrichter

I learned from Sylvania that they make the LED bulbs for Ford and they advised to go with the Sylvania Zevo bulbs. I purchased at Advance Auto (168/198) for approximately $21 and used them for the license plate bulbs. They match the tailgate LED bulb perfectly. There is some glare in the camera but doesn’t affect your ability to see backing up. I personally would rather have them match as I’m OCD like that lol. Hope this helps!

If anyone has any questions on how to add the ambient lighting back in the doors, cupholder, media bin, glove box, and digital temperature control knobs…let me know as I added them to my truck myself. It was easy but put me back about $550 using Ford parts with a discount. As others have said, they make the truck so much more luxurious and was worth it to me.

I may hit you up on it. It would be a hot minute as I just got my truck and am mid modification (tonneau cover, etc.). Thank you for the offer! - Rob
