DEAL 3% Under Invoice on any F-150 Tremor Order

@zach@granger I think we all really appreciate what you are trying to do here (thrilled to get this discount) and I don't want to put you on the spot, but is there any chance we may see a repeat of the Bronco Order issue?

Last year, Granger was able to fill only 150 of its 1,300 orders, almost all of them to customers who flew in, picked up their SUV and drove back out of state.
Are you a troll? An unhappy troll who hasn't gotten a vin yet?

Zach has been very open about how orders are going on F150s. And explained that Ford is not scheduling any F150s for February. You can verify this from just about anywhere on the internet. It's still February, and you've asked for an update about 3 times on multiple forums or Facebook? I bet you are one of those guys that asks Chip for an update every week aren't you?

If you're not a troll, pop a chill pill and let Ford and Granger do their thing. Nothing you do will change anything at this point.

Why does everyone like to shit on @Bannerman lmao? Does he have a look on his face that says come at me bro?

He literally worded it in the nicest way possible and asked a legit question. I'd be concerned about that too if I hadn't gotten mine already. Other people may be wondering the same.

What's up with new members with <5 posts coming in hot like this? Teenage angst? Swollen balls?

I think we’re at the breaking point in an online forum where this starts happening. I was wondering when it would start.

I’d like to know Zach’s opinion as well. Doesn’t really affect me but just curious.

I’m neither a troll nor unhappy. I‘m just a guy who wants to write a check for a custom order truck. I’m not concerned with the chip shortage or other global supply issues, I’m asking about the Ford allocation system. Per that article I linked there were 1150 Bronco orders just never filled. Now I’m not saying it’s Granger’s fault at all, they have been great though this whole process, but if there is a chance that due to circumstances out of their control, my order is never to be filled, I‘d just like to know.

Now, should we talk about why you feel you need to White-Knight for a dealership in an online truck forum? Or shall we leave that for another day?

Even if he is unhappy (which he's already said he's not), since when does a customer asking a business about an order they placed constitute as trolling? He wasn't talking shit about Granger, he wasn't even complaining. He literally posted an article and asked if it was possible the same thing might happen again.

I think its a fair question. The F-150 is a completely different animcal than the Bronco. First, the Bronco was launched as a vehicle through Ford's reservation system. It was communicated to customers and to dealers upon launch, that it would be a first come first serve basis. Ford switched the rules mid-game and reverted back more closely to their intitial allocation system. This severely disadvantaged us. Certainly, we woudn't have been one of the more aggressive dealerships in the space if we would have known that from the start.

The F-150 is based on the traditional allocation formula plus Ford's COVP system. The easiest way to explain this is up to 40% of overall national allocation for the F-150 is based upon retail orders taken with verified customer information. The remaining 60% of allocation is based upon the traditional formula (sales historically and dealer stock).

COVP - Nationally F-150 was running at a 30-40% of overall demand. That means, that if you put in a retail order through the COVP program you are going to get an additional allocation spot. If demand was running 70% like on the Super Duty, it could take up to 3-4 months to receive that allocation for the unit. So we're in a good spot here and have received our allocation for our COVP numbers according to what we've placed.

Traditional Allocation - We have used our traditional allocation (20-30 units/month) to fill retail orders as well the majority of the time. This number has continued to rise because our quick turn of our retail orders has turned into a "snowball effect" and decreased our stock levels and increased our sales more than the average Ford dealer. This in turn makes this system work in our favor the quicker we sell these units.

Now the bad news - Ford did not wholesale F-150 this month or last month. We're experiencing chip holds on our current builds, because of this Ford has shut down production for two consecutive months. This will allow the retail demand to rise. Speculatively, you could say maybe 50%? 60%? which would delay orders because of the loss of production. Still retail orders are not at the high demand of 80%+ like the Bronco. We also don't have the benefit of 40% of the allocation formula based on retail orders with the Bronco.

So while the wait will be longer than we anticipated on some of these, I have no doubt that we should be able to fill all these orders. I know that doesn't help the Platinum F-150 orders that have had to convert from 2021s to 2022s and are still waiting for a VIN. Microchip constraints will still have an impact on the overall production levels of certain trims and cause backlogs. For Tremors we really haven't seen that until this point. At one point we had all our F-150 Tremor orders assigned with a vin that were older than 2-3 weeks in the order bank.

Hope that helps.

Thank you for taking the time to break that down so well, really gives a more clear picture of the whole system and is exactly why I asked the question.

Anyone who bothered to read the article(ahem @Time2Fly ) could see how Granger got the shaft when Ford pulled the rug from under you. I don't envy the sleepless nights your staff probably had during that fiasco.

And now the wait begins for the Tremor adventuremobile. Granger team has been excellent. Less than 24 hr turnaround on all comunnication.
Maybe my GrangerBronco will be spotted in 2024

I'll take this as good news. Got an email from Ford saying that Granger should get the truck between March 12-18. Fingers crossed. Thanks @zach@granger and Chip for everything you guys are doing.

I got this same pricing from my local ford dealer in the Philadelphia area! I viewed this as a great deal and couldnt pass it up. I have concerns as to what the trade in value of by 17 durango will be when the truck arrives as well as the interest rates but i guess I can control either of those things!

I believe we'll get more allocation news in about 30 days. I would hope the F-150 gets new allocation at that point in time. But the production won't happen until May-June on those vehicles.
So those of us who ordered but don’t have a VIN are still considered a “new allocation”?
