Airflow sync update

Yesterday I had a notification that I had an update that would install at my scheduled time at 1:00 a.m. The update installed successfully. When I reviewed the details of the update, it was the exact same AC airflow update that I had already received several days ago. Hmmm.

There are two updates related to this title, one is with the HVAC module and one is with the PCM. And this is why I'm curious about the influx of air you can get when driving on the highway.

Ahh, gotcha. The first update did say it was for the PCM, and this one didn't specify. So I guess the second one must have been the HVAC module.

Wow.
My 2023 is still on version 4.0.23291 revision 1049 and it says that it’s up to date. I would agree with that if it was late 2023🤬.
I received my third ever update a couple of weeks ago for Power Up 6.4.0
Maybe I should try what you did.
23291 rev 1049 here as well. No updates in ages. Leaving it on a trickle charger... Parking brake... Wifi on wifi off... Nothing helps. Really pisses me off because the infotainment on this thing is SO BUGGY.

There's a TSB to address the bugginess and is a good way to possibly get everything updated in the process
Good morning.
😳….Wow…..Thanks for this info / link.
I’ll come armed with this when I take my vehicle to my dealer.
Definitely looks like something that might take a day or two to complete if everything has to be updated.

I think I’ll try the battery disconnect trick to see if that works but I’m definitely not getting my hopes up.
I’ll just leave the negative terminal off for 2-3 weeks and see what happens when I reconnect it. I’m not sure if a trickle charger matters or not because I don’t have one. Also, my battery is basically brand new because I replaced it a couple of months ago.
If the updates start popping up after I reconnect the battery, I’ll let you guys know.

If the dealer did this then why wouldn’t you be updated to the latest SYNC version at a minimum? It’s a requirement of them
Nope because people are lazy and don't want to do their job. They were all 'oh we did the GWM update', which is true and I verified.... And yeah that should/might have cascaded other updates, but it clearly did not (again verified with FDRS) and therefore I am stuck until I bring the truck in again.

All I have noticed is sometimes I get in the truck and the a/c is on. Seems like another useless update.

I'd like things to work right on a $70k truck.
I’m not sure about this because I’ve never used it but can a person who gets the required adapter as well as the FDRS software, can everything be updated in ones garage or does one still have to go to the dealer.

Yes you can do it yourself with the mongoose cable and FDRS..... I feel I also shouldn't need to tinker around with the computer guts on a 70k truck at my own risk! Nor should I need to buy a specialized, one use 500 dollar cable.... Silly me for expecting things to work...

So I had the opportunity to use the AC quite a bit today. After the software update, I've noticed no change. The cool air continues to blow strong from the vents by the infotainment screen, air flow from the other vents is still weak.

Is there any way of seeing all updates that have ever run on the truck, in a list or something, or just the last one?

Knock on wood but I recently left the battery disconnected at the negative and put it on a NOCO charger for about two weeks during vacation. When I hooked everything back up, before the first start, I did a BMS reset. I have gotten so many more updates now and haven't had it do any sleep yet. I usually have a week or longer between drives so it would usually happen before but now I've been good. My whole reason for doing that: I was trying to prolong the issue and had my truck hooked up to the NOCO without disconnecting anything and it still went into sleep mode. The BMS strategy is absolute garbage. I think what I did bypassed it seeing a charge increase so now it behaves with a higher voltage at the 80% SOC target. I'm not a spicy pixie wizard though so it could all just be luck. I'm going to upgrade to an H8 this summer anyways.
The battery in my truck sucks. When it was new we took it for 700 mi drive. The truck sat for 3 days, started once when I moved it. Then I shut it off and the battery was dead I had to jump it with my house battery. My truck stays on a tender 24/7 now. Updates have been wanky, now it's just spinning and not updating I guess it's a trip to the Ford garage. I'd like my 15 where I just downloaded it on a USB stick and did it myself. My truck goes and sleep mode even with the four amp charger on it.

I agree with you.
Everything should work / update as it’s designed to do without having to go to the dealer.
I’m definitely hesitant about tinkering around with a laptop and FDRS because one mistake could be disastrous.

Yes.
Just go to the Ford.com website and sign in or register your vehicle.
You’ll be able see what updates your vehicle has as well as the history of said updates.
