Bilstein 6112/5160 Travel Question

bout 2" of rake with the #5 clip (1" lift for Tremors according to bilstein) and a 0.5" spacer (my motofab measured a hair under at like 0.375 or 0.380 i cant remember). Plenty of threads
How's your ride with this setup (6112 at 1" setting and 1/2" spacer)? This is quite a project trying to figure out best way to raise the front 1.5 to 2 inches. Thanks in advance.

The OEM bump stop is the limiting factor in the rear for my truck with 5160s. 29.5” on the extended side with the stuffed side on the bump stop. If you take them out make sure something limits the travel.

In the front the 6112 is the limiter for full extension and it’s designed for that. I also have a 1/2” spacer on top.
@deepblack, how's the ride with the 6112's at 1" setting and 1/2 spacer compared to no spacer and 6112's set at max (1.5"). TAI

first drive was a little weird feeling...can def tell with the front up a bit more. ride in general i dig...softening up a hair after some miles. harsher than oem which i wanted - the floatiness was annoying. havent towed with it yet but overall driving feels a lot more planted and it soaks up the bullshit way better. road reflectors are basically noise vs feel at this point. railroad crossings are less noticeable. speed bumps at low speed dont bounce like they used to which makes them feel a little harder on the other side. higher speed on the bumps they go away. kinda "as expected" which is nice.

Appreciate the feedback. TY!

I did it for the extra 1/2” of droop travel but if I had to drive them both and pick which one is which I couldn’t.

The 0.5” spacer is .325” and there are plenty of threads. It looks like you could get a slightly larger one on.
Did you order pre-assembled 6112s and get new upper mounts, or did you put them together yourself and re-use the OEM mounts?

I ordered them pre assembled from shock surplus. At the time it was $100 more to have them ready to bolt in. The nuts were lower profile when compared to the OEM, leaving some additional threads. I didn’t check to see if the studs were longer.

$100 for assembly was a good deal. The KYB upper mounts that Shock Surplus uses are now $70 each.
My 6112s are on backorder for another month so I'm getting things figured out now.
The OEM studs protrude about 3/4" but that huge flange nut eats up about 1/2" of it. Adding a single 3/8" thick spacer would leave no threads showing.
Another member on the forum advised me that swapping from OEM upper mounts to KYB would take care of it. So I ordered one of the KYB tops to check the stud length. If it is longer, great - but if it turns out to be the same as OEM, the solution must lie in using a thinner nut because some folks on here are running double 3/8" spacers. Ideally I would like to do the same, plus set the clip in the 1/2" lift position for 1-1/2" total.
Worst case I'll set the 6112's for 1" and add a single spacer.
I was second notch from the top on my old truck with 5100s and it rode like a shopping cart. This Tremor is so comfortable. I'd like to preserve as much of that as possible.

Looks it’s $290 more now, probably still worth it
