Cat-Back exhaust ???

100% like Captain said you’d be much better off going to a reputable muffler shop. All in I was $490 for Black Widow muffler, removed my resonator which they welded in place a 3 inch pipe, I also added larger welded on black rolled tips. It sounds awesome and I have an extra $600-$700+ cat back savings to invest in other mods.

I’ll add before and after pics once I find them.
What black widow muffler did you order?

here's the part number on the muff i ordered up see how long it takes to arrive, shipping is joke up here these days. i was planning on just doing res delete but it didn't make much of a difference on its own.

What’s our exhaust sizes? It’s 3” inlet to the stock muffler but what is a the dual outlet tail pipe sizes? I thought someone mentioned it but I’m not finding it.

It’s actually 2.5” in on my truck and right off the stock muffler it’s 2-1/4” but right away necks up to 2.5” but this should be close enough

Does anyone have this setup (or any other Borla for that matter) or know anyone who does? If so, there's nothing weird about our trucks specifically that prevents this from working, correct?

Any input is appreciated.

The part of the video for this specific exhaust starts around 2:26

I put the "touring" (as opposed to the ATAK) version of this on my 2018 Raptor. I regretted it and wouldn't do it again. I did it because I missed the beefy sound of a big V8. All it did was make the "farting" sound of the Raptor Exhaust louder - no different than any other sports car with these Borla exhaust systems, which are kind of annoying. It didn't make it sound any closer to a V8, which you just can't replace.

Well that's the kind of info I was hoping would be brought into this thread; good to know. I'm not sure where they different, but I would imagine not enough to make something like that go away completely.

Any drone on the setup. I played with my Xterra exhaust and it sounds awesome but it drones in the cabin.

What a great cold Starr sound and under throttle but no drone…too much to ask, lol.
No drone, very happy with it!

Got my muff installed today! Sounds very good for a v6 in my opinion. Idle sounds amazing. Sounds great when you get on the throttle and it’s not that noticeable at highway speeds. Only drove for about an hour today afterwards but I’d say I gained a small amount of fuel economy which is a bonus little early to give real numbers but I’d say 1 L per 100km (yes I’m from Canada) Definitely getting some drone in the cab that needs to be addressed one of these days. I had one of these flow pro twisters on my diesel that I really liked so I might throw one on unless someone convinces me otherwise. Once it’s daylight I’ll make up a video of the sounds.

Do you have a link to the tips you purchased?
I do not because I used a local muffler shop and they took them out of a metal cabinet in the garage. There was no display case or name brand packaging/box. I cant tell you they are 5" rolled black tips, they look great!

Alright just figured out how to blend 2 videos together (no big deal) here’s sound clips of cold starts. I plan to do a more proper video once I get resonator in one day. This is just shot with an iPhone so take the audio with a grain of salt it’s better in person I promise.

Thanks I still don’t know how you ended up getting no drone outa the deal.🤷🏻‍♂️ Oh well pay to play gunna try out a flow pro twister up stream than we will set!

Maybe I'm just to dumb to realize lol. I hear it in the cab but I like that it responds to the throttle so I can control it. I recently had a 2021 TRD Off-road 4-Runner and put a cherry bomb in place of stock muffler and that thing had drone all the time so this is such a BIG sound improvement and much quieter in the cab that maybe my opinion of drone is skewed since its such an improvement over the 4 runner.

Got any clips under load that you can share? Exterior sound and in the cab sound or this setup?

Sounds good, on the cold start! Love to hear it under load.

Honestly it’s to much drone for me to waste my time with a proper vid I just ordered a flow pro twister I’m hoping the sound will be dialed in than. That’s when I’ll do a proper sound clip video

Boy I get excited when truck parts show up in the mail!!!! Now to find time/ shop to put it in exhaust work is definitely a great job to farm out vs welding it up in the driveway.
