What's new

F150 Tremor FORScan

My Forscan changes:
enabled Bambi
enabled digital Temps
disabled fake engine noise
enabled glare-free lights

After all that, I took it for a test drive, stopped at gas station, got back in, started driving home and I noticed my mirrors were folded in. I've had folding mirrors disabled for some time, and even if I had them enabled, they should have been out after, getting into the truck and starting. So, I'm not sure if it's a glitch after changing code, or if I accidentally hit the button. I checked to ensure they were still disabled, still shows disabled and I wasn't able to reproduce the issue at home, so I guess I'll see.

Secondly - with anti-glare enabled, the auto high beams seemed to turn off randomly, no traffic around etc., so I guess I'll have to do some more testing, but I was kinda like "Meh", not sure it's all that.
Fake engine noise? Haven't heard that yet.

I don't have forscan. I meant I haven't heard a fake engine sound. Nothing apparently to disable.
you know what...damn, you're right, there's is nothing to disable, I was just playin.

Listen tough guy. I was just saying I've never heard any piped in. Fake ass v8 sounds. Also said I don't have forscan. Maybe it's not a feature in 2023.

Guess I'll have to listen closer. Any examples? I

Maybe, though I really doubt it. It's not exactly fake noise but augmentation of harmonics. It's subtly done but it exists.
FWIW the augmentation seems to be less in my '23 Tremor versus a bit more pronounced in my recently sold '20 Platinum FX4 ... both 3.5EBs. I'm okay with the augmentation not because I get a fake sound or "feel like" the engine/exhaust is more than it is (VRRrroooom baby!!!!) but in certain conditions I have found it helpful to hear engine feedback. I do think it's a bit over the top and of course everyone modulates power at the pedal here but a bit less in the '23 I think. In Sport mode it's more enhanced probably unnecessarily so but like when hitting slippery heavy percentage incline say up a paved switchback with sand the feedback has been helpful as reminder. I like Sport mode in mountain travel with the shifting profile and gear hold on both ascent and decent and when descending and forcing downshift IMO hearing the artificial sound is helpful while counting gears.

The enhancement does not bother me personally and even with the Tremor 3.5 "more tuned" dual exhaust sounding better in the cab than the previous models is also not truly necessary. There was little to no noise in the old truck and any "noise" was a bit more like frying rice at times.... LOL!!!

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01F0GVBWY?tag=f150tremor-20 — I have this adapter from like 5 years ago I used on my 2018. Should this still work on my '23 Tremor or should I get the one being recommended? First thing first though is I have to either borrow my dad's laptop or go buy a cheap one. Seems Forscan doesn't play nicely with virtual machines on the newer M1 MacBooks.

Is anyone able to look up some stock settings for me? I activated the Unreal Theme a few months ago and I believe it affected my balance/fader.

Has anyone else experienced this? I have to push it forward and to the right in order to get full volume. I'm looking to put the values back to stock but didn't keep the data.

Thanks,
Is anyone else experiencing this? I'm considering trying out unreal theme but obviously don't want to have to deal with this issue. I think I might have read it on another forum too. Thanks.

Okay I went for it. Apologies for the fingerprint smudges and glare on the screen. You can see in the one picture what people mean by the balance and fade. Where it shows in the picture is the default setting, and it sounds just fine, but if you move it even the littlest bit, it changes it completely. Like to the back, just the slightest, and you can barely hear it at all in the front. Best to just keep it at default I guess, even if it's technically incorrectly showing. I'll give Unreal Theme a try for a couple weeks and see how I feel about it and go from there.

Does anyone know if you still get normal updates to Sync (and perhaps to this theme) while using this theme?

Visual is jacked up on mine. Use the cross hair to ajust location rather than the seat image. I don't think mine actually changed when I switched to unreal, it just doesn't look right.

Issues - Changed code to enable:
  1. Enable Cameras at Speed
  2. Enable OffRoad (Rock Crawl, Mud/Ruts, and Deep Snow/Sand) Front Camera at Speed
I don't see any difference - when I hit the camera button on dash, I still get rear view with the "Full View Not Available" and no other cameras.

How to use this "feature"?

BTW - disabled double honk on exit too, that was annoying.

Did you try here?

well, shit, I didn't see that one, I'll give it a shot.

Thank you!

Edit - that worked, thanks again.

I still don't get how to activate the front camera at speed, but I mean, it's not really that big of a deal, just thought I'd try it out.

Is there a setting that would make the truck default to a particular drive mode on start up? Just as an example, have it always start in “Eco Mode”, etc.

Is there a setting for the 2023 with reflector LED headlights (401a) to have the front turn signals and c bar as the DRL? I see one for parking lights, but I don’t want the rear lights on, plus the amber turn in the headlight doesn’t light up with the parking lights.
I’ve looked through, but likely missed it if there is.
I would think the amber would look good on the tremor, but I don’t mind the outer bar on as well.

EDIT:
I tried the setting "Front (left or right) Turn" and changed it to "Turn and DRL" and it didnt work so changed it back to "Turn Only" ....and now I have lost the regualr C Bar DRL. The white OEM C Bar does illuminate with the parking or headlights on, just not when in drive. I did check the settings and DRL is enabled on the sync screen. The DRL is showing "DRL and Parking" for both the left and the right.
I even reloaded an older saved file (the original before any changes) and the C Bar DRL still will not illuminate.
Anyone have any ideas?
