Honest Eibach Review Needed

Has anybody considered lowest setting on these Eibach’s with a spacer on top?

I’m new to the forum & community. I traded my Bronco in for a 2022 F-150 Tremor a couple of weeks back and drove it directly from the dealership to my local truck shop for a 2” Readlift and 35s, among other day 1 mods.

I was impressed with the soft and composed ride, especially coming from the Bronco on 35” Nittos. The ride was plush like my wife’s Tahoe. Since I’ve picked it up after the lift - not so much. I was expecting a slight regression with the heavier tires, but not like this. It’s as if the truck had joints that have since locked up and it’s peg-legging all over town.

Though I planned on a suspension lift figuring the truck would be due for new shocks anyway, I didn’t think the suspension needed immediate replacing after the initial ride. I approached the spacers as a stopgap to eventual suspension upgrade so I could reallocate some of that dough to more fun projects. Now I’m feeling this moved up to the top of my list of mods.

I’ve spent a lot of time reading this forum and others on our limited options here as Tremor owners and for what I’m looking for (maintain stance, dramatically improve ride quality on pavement from the spacers on old stock suspension and not overcorrecting with a setup I don’t need), the Eibach setup seems like the obvious choice while still being reasonably priced.

Question for you guys - rather than install the Eibachs at full clip (which I get the impression can be a bit harsh itself), what are your thoughts on reducing the preload to zero and maintain the 2” spacer setup? It seems like a reasonable approach to maximize the downward travel to recapture some of that plush I felt leaving the lot.

Obviously I’m motivated to not walk away from a 1 week old mod and may not be thinking straight so please keep me honest here. Just thinking there might be some meat on this bone.
Aftermarket coilovers and a spacer? 🤔

Honestly I think you’re asking for trouble by stacking the coilover and the spacer. You’re going to wind up with more down travel than the truck was designed for. I’d an imagine that the CV joints aren’t going to like that.

The Eibachs ride better and are much more composed than the stock shocks. I would run them as they were designed.

You mentioned that the tires are load range E. What PSI are you running in them? They are designed for heavier vehicles so they have a higher max inflation pressure. I wouldn’t be surprised if you’re running too much pressure.

IMHO, your issue is probably with the tires. Try to find something that is lighter and designed for more a comfortable ride.

That’s all super helpful input, thanks.

I’ve never run spacers before so I was hoping to pile on as that being the issue. My old man bones got used to that one week with the grabbers.

I’m rolling at 38 psi. I have a little wiggle room there so I’ll try that out for now. Eibachs in time.

Finally received my Eibachs and got them installed on Friday. Took me about an hour to put them in but I was VERY surprised to find that when I aligned it only the toe was out. Camber and Caster was the same as the last time I aligned it.

Before I installed them I took 4 turns of preload out and went from 38.5 inches to 40 3/16 inches. I love the look but I'm on the fence about the ride. The front is definitely stiffer but not overly and the body roll while turning is greatly reduced. The rear is perfect in my opinion at this price point. What I don't like is how the front feels over speed bumps. On the larger roller type speed bumps when I hit them at speed (25 mph) the front end compresses and it feels ok but when the front suspension unloads (rebounds) it is harsh, not jarringly so but harsh all the same. If I slow down a bit it is ok and if I speed up to say 30 mph it is better. Overall the truck definitely feels more planted. Another thing I noticed is that now I feel a lot more feedback through the gas pedal and it is kind of annoying to me but I suspect if I end up keeping this setup that I'll learn to tune it out.

Are you able to use the Husky Fender liner with this Stage 2 set up, or do they need removed? Seems like the reservoir needs the extra space.

Unless something has changed in its design, the Husky wheel well liner will have to either be removed or trimmed for installation of any rear shock.

Nope, mine were unchanged. Fit fine. Albeit you will have to pull on them to make space for the install

FWIW: I rode in the middle row of an Escalade this morning. I feel like my Tremor has a smoother ride and the Escalade was a little more taut. We hit a few large potholes on the freeway and I really felt them. I’m sure the Tremor would have just sucked them up. In short, feel like the Tremor with the Eibach shocks rode more like a Cadillac than the Cadillac did.

Mine is fine

I noticed the same thing on the speed bump. I couldn’t articulate what was happening so thank you.

I definitely not perfect… small bump compliance suffers a bit …. But I also don’t feel like I am hovering over washboards or about to tip over on turns. Overall I’ll take that lol.

What are you guys doing with the oem stuff? Mine only had ~2.5k miles on them

The rears are junk… I’d give away. I’ve seen the front and rear in Facebook for $200 for months… so I guess they’re not worth much

I had a set of stocks for sale for $100 for months, never sold.

lol well crap. Thanks fellas

Hold on to them.
You never know when you might sell or have to get rid of your vehicle. You can remove the good after market shock package and transfer it to a new vehicle or sell them and put the OEM stuff back on.

Put my truck into sport mode to drive around and I noticed that I could feel something clunking in the steering wheel from the 4A being activated. Is this normal or is it possibly because I leveled it? Was thinking the CVs are at a more aggressive angle cause this. Any thoughts?

Is it constant afterwards or only after engagement.

I noticed the same thing with my truck on dry surface but seems to be ok when I’m dirt roads. When I drive in sport mode I just switch back to 2H after it engages 4A before I drive off.
