What's new

Jan 10th Build Week Thread

Guys I'm sorry, the unfortunate news though is they did shut down orders on the Maverick and quit making the mustang at least through June because of chip shortage, that's also why you lost some of the features such as ambient lighting on the 22 Tremor. I'm hoping that all of you get moved to the front because your orders were already placed and sounds like a lot have already been built.

And looks like I’m in the same boat as a lot of you! ETA went from Jan 26 to APRIL 26! I am praying that it’s a glitch because I sold my SUV this week and am sharing with my wife! I was expecting to share for a couple of weeks but 3 months was not in the cards!
please be an error!
I am in the same boat, my guy picked my truck up on Friday!
Dealer said mine should be in this Tuesday, fingers crossed

Date Ordered at Dealership 9/23/21
Order Accepted date 11/9/21
Build Week: 1/17/22
Original Estimated Delivery Date: 2/23/22
Updated Delivery Date: 5/24/22

WTF Ford? Not happy at all.
Pretty much the same timeline as mine. Not too happy at all. Where is my $100 Amazon gift card Ford?

Wonder what this means for those of us that haven’t even gotten VIN’s or build dates yet…😔

I'm with you. My first thought was that I couldn't imagine them canceling orders if they are still taking them (new member orders within the last few days). But it also doesn't appear that a lot of the dealerships are aware of the issue unless they've looked into it. And they've already cancelled Mustang orders earlier this fall.

While the dealer was placing my order yesterday the only thing that popped in the system as potential delay was the spray in bed liner. Interesting none the less.

Just wondering how many people are calling Ford tomorrow? Is it even worth it…..not sure I want to wait till may but kinda wanna know how accurate there date is

Someone needs to. I’m not going to bother but assume some on here will and will report back. The extra 3 month issue only came about Friday night so it is worth some investigation on the first work day since.

I’m pulling for you to get yours as quick as possible… cuz I think I’m 1 week behind ya!

Wish they would give us the option to ship with out if it was possible…..gm is shipping with no heated seats and sometimes no heated steering wheel and adding later and give a credit

It is BS Ford just dropped the lights and didn't even offer to have them dealer installed later, on the year they raised the price almost $1k.

So I spoke to the GM at my dealer today and he said that yes indeed my truck has been produced and is on a chip Hold. He said that the last time this happened the tracker did the same thing and then all of the sudden trucks started showing up at the dealer even though the tracker was still showing Chip Holds. He expects that Ford has changed everyone's delivery dates to the worst-case scenario to give them as much time as possible to deliver and as chips come in trucks will go out so all we can do is wait!
This sucks!

I have a 402A that was set for an original delivery eta 2/4 that now shows an eta 5/5. I spoke with my GM today as well and he confirmed that the truck was built and moved to a holding lot last week due to a missing chip. His end shows a delivery between 4/29-5/5.

It does suck! Like a huge Vacuum!

But I tend to agree with him.. and I can't quite tell if I am either drinking the Kool-Aid or just being too optimistic... but it seems like they did go worst case scenario on everyone's order. IMO there has to be some doomsday scenario added in that 3 month tack on to every single order. I am hoping some of us start to see trucks show up in the next month.

I think I've even talked myself into being ok with a March delivery... but I get the shakes when I think about a April or May delivery. I'm tired of driving the old beater Accord and need a truck for summer to tow stuff!

Has anyone thought about what they are going to do when they pick up the truck and if there is large amounts of Rust on the undercarriage after sitting out in a lot waiting on a chip?

That’s what I was thinking. Hopefully they have each one of our trucks talked nicely under some covers until it’s ready to be shipped. Don’t like the idea of it sitting outside in a Michigan winter before it comes to Florida. I also Would like to get this truck before my private cash offer expires

I had heard this elsewhere too and it wouldn't surprise me. I liken it to being told there's a 45 wait at a restaurant, only to be seated after 20 minutes. They'd rather under promise and over deliver, than over promise and under deliver. Although they're probably getting an earful either way right now.

I think I am more worried about critters making a home out of the engine compartment. Tasty wiring.
