Leveling Kit

What are you not liking about the Pro Comp?
I’d like better overall handling.
I’ve noticed at speed and turning or hitting rough pavement that the truck wanders a bit. Also hitting speed bumps or pot holes is rougher than I’d like. Part of this could also be the tire's but I also wanted to reduce the rake so did the level first.

I had planned on having the dealer install the fox coil overs but they couldn’t get them before I took delivery. So I took it and just had the pro comp installed locally. Took care of the rake but didn’t get me the improvement I wanted also.

Yikes! That FOX system looks great, to bad I had the RC installed a couple weeks ago. It’s weird that my dealership (which does Roush trucks too) didn’t recommend this kit.

RWilson, do you mind me asking how much they charged all in for parts/labor?

Wonder if worth upgrading from the RC? Let’s all be honest, the factory rear shocks are NOT the best. Was considering replacing those anyways with the RC Vertex rear kit, but those are $850 vs this whole FOX kit for $1400, which I suspect is a better front coilover vs the RC.

Thanks in advance!
Yes the rears are really pissing me off

Hmmm wondering if the Fox kit is worth it. Have the RC sitting in the garage and scheduled to be installed in two weeks. Should I switch it up :unsure:

It would be better than the N3’s, But I would bet the vertex 2.5” with resi and dampening control are probably better than the Roush or stock fox coilover 2” kit. They have direct comparisons to the BDS 2.5” with DCS. Fox DCS has high and low speed dampening and can be rebuilt. Vertex are single stage dampening and are disposable as far as we know.

None of the 4 ford dealers here in las vegas are willing to do any level or Ford/Roush coilovers . All of them refer me to 4 wheels parts..

I reached out to Roush (by email) and was told the Fox Suspension kit will work on F-150 '22 models but NOT on the Tremor. I've asked why but don't have a response. There is a note in the description that says the kit won't work on models with CCD (continuously controlled damping), but the Tremor doesn't have this right? I'll update when I get their response. As and FYI, I've also asked my local Roush dealer about this kit on our '22 Tremors. Waiting on that response as well.

Very helpful thread but man you guys have me all over the place lol. I did call Roush awhile ago on their Fox 2.0 kit. They told me the same thing. Not for the Tremor. I am looking to level my truck with these type of kits but waiting for more selection. After reading all the info here and also talking to the companies involved, seems like most of the parts will work with no problems but I am no mechanic. I am thinking when Fox does release the kit specifically for the Tremor, it will probably be pretty much be the same as current kit as far as fitting goes but I could be wrong.

I just spoke to the Ford dealer and they confirmed the Fox kit that was put on my 2022 Tremor met specifications and the warranty is not affected. I am still waiting for them to send the exact part information. I wonder if there is a difference btw Roush and the Ford Performance?

Stage 3 motorsports (they sell all 3) had made a post on another forum that the fox and roush are exactly the same kits, the roush just has the roush badging and I think a cover on the rear shocks.
American trucks had said in a review that the roush also had valving tweaks.
The ford performance kit has different valving per fords specs according to stage 3.

The dealer verified it is the Fox Ford performance that says 2015-2020 and they are applicable for the 2022. They installed them and said the don’t affect the warranty. I got to go with what the dealer says.
The Boise area is a huge truck market and most of the vehicles go off road for hunting and recreation as I’m sure you can imagine. The dealers do a ton of after market suspension adds. I’m confident these shocks work based on how the truck rides and the feedback from the dealer.

Rwilson, do you know if the dealer adjusted down the perch by 5/8" per the instructions?

Let me take a better picture of the front shock. That will probably give you a better idea.

Let me know if this helps or if you need a different picture

Jesus…can you see why I’m waiting until the dust settles on all these different options that may do this, may do that, may work, may not be ideal, may be fine, confirmed…then not ideal. Time is what I’m spending right now lol…until the lines are clear and the writing is in black and white. Lots of fogginess right now.

Here is a video. It’s for a 2021 F150, but from my understanding the tremor front end is the same?

The Tremor has more travel, a slightly wider track, and a different knuckle supposedly.

So I spoke with RC to see if they wanted a Tremor in to test out their vertex coilovers but they didn't seem very keen on the idea. They did mention some new product offerings but also said the Bronco was a bigger focus, which makes sense.

It sounds as if many companies are wondering if the Tremor will be around for more than a couple model years and really how many sales the R and D would net. especially compared to things like the Bronco.

That makes total sense but honestly I see the Tremor replacing the fx4 and them doing away with that package in the long term. Ford wasn't expecting the Tremor to be as popular of a vehicle as it has been, yet if you look back to the ram rebel ram was caught with their pants down on that as well. That's really the closest competition to the Tremor. People want a true off-road capable truck that they can buy and use for overlanding, etc. The more they can save up front without doing major upgrades the better that's why I think Ford made a mistake on not giving us better suspension upfront, that's also why I think many of the aftermarket companies are making a mistake not trying to jump on this and being first to offer a really good coilover kit. I mean look at RC already, they've sold several kits on here alone for the Tremor and it just came out a couple of weeks ago.

yeah, it'll be interesting to see what Ford decides. I saw where they had Billstein 8112s on an FX4 package at the Chicago Auto show a few weeks back. I think I would go with Bilsteins over the DSCs unless someone does release some Tremor love. This too is kind of annoying. I mean, with the exception of the spring, releasing a 1.5" longer shock and coilover seems like easy mode, to me. But since Eibach is dragging their backsides producing coils, it may be quite a while until we see anything.
