Leveling Kit

Well I went to install my leveling kit today and found that the 2” RC kit is an interference fit when the suspension is in the bottom 1” of travel. Took a couple hours of messing around with it to find this out and then a call to RC for them to say that they expected this. Very poor design and has been removed from my truck.

If anyone expects to use the full range of travel while in 4 wheel drive, then this type of spacer leveling kit will tear apart your CV boot apart.

Is the lower control arm touching the axle or is the boot hitting the strut, or both at full droop?

Is this only an RC lift issue or is this a general problem with all level kits on the tremor?

more than likely, a "use case" concern. If you never need full droop, you won't notice it. The puck pushes everything (effectively) down so droop angles are harder. if you are off roading to the point you'll ever be at full droop

A lot of kits come with UCAs which can help with spring fitment, UCA joint angle and wheel position. A UCA can effectively push the top of the wheel outward some reducing the LCA angle/bind point (and also the critical need for the correct wheel offset or the wheel won't be able to tuck into the fender well). I'm guessing that the contact Gibson saw with his RC install was intentionally designed by Ford to limit the potential of a critical failure of the axle in extreme droop scenarios.

@Gibson Thanks for doing/posting this. It'll definitely help identify what we'll need to get the most out of our trucks.

Carli has a retention strap for the Super Duty that limits the droop in the front for a similar reason. I could see a solution of LCA and retention strap in addition to the normal parts (maybe instead of replacing the UCA). Either that or we're all getting BDS coilover lift kits with that damn lower relocation bracket I hate so much.

This would happen for any leveling kit that extends the length of the strut, so any spacer kit will do the same thing

The boot is hitting the strut and bolt holding the strut to the LCA. I don’t think it was contacting the LCA, but I was pretty pissed off at the time and didn’t inspect it fully. I had to mock it back together to even get a picture.

The Ready Lift 2" seems to be the way to go from what I'm seeing online?

If you are not concerned with the CV boot contacting at full droop than that kit should be fine.

I am now waiting for a leveling strut assembly that allows for full droop of the wheel without any part of the axle contacting the LCA or strut.

Have to verify a spacer kit will work due to the unique suspension , the spacers may interfere with the position specific dampeners. The dealership here is in contact with Roush to determine proper equipment for a 2” level or 4” lift for 35’s. I am suspecting that both will require a full kit.

I find it interesting that the Tremor shares some of the same off-road technology found in the Bronco such as Trail Control and Train Turn Assist

I am getting ready to watch some videos on lifting a Bronco and wonder if there are some shared suspension elements.

I know when I lifted my tundra 2.5 inches with coil over icons I replaced the upper control arms and ball joints. Otherwise it eventually wears them prematurely and putting the front end alignment in spec was a Pain in the ass. I like a little rake on my front end for gas mileage on the hwy and I think the truck handles well. Maybe an inch less lift in the rear would be nice but won’t be a biggie when I put my airstream on it.

do you think a 1.5" level would do the same? I'm considering the motofab kits (either 1/2' or 1 1/2" just to remove a little bit of the rake)

Good chance the 1.5” kit would do the same. I have not seen the 1/2” option, is this a moto fab product that will work with the ‘21 tremor?

Icon vehicle dynamics front coils are adjustable with a spanner wrench while they’re on the truck so you can dial it in tight.

Have you looked at icon stage 1. It’s 0-2.75”.

Has anyone used the icons on a Tremor yet?

Aside from a different upper control arm and knuckle they’re the same as an F150. Having those two items allows more range of motion and useful shock travel. I’ve had spacers and then eventually an icon stage 2 set up on a tundra and it’s night and day in ride quality. I liked it because I could dial in the exact ride height with a wrench in my driveway then get it aligned. I still
like the ride in my factory Tremor though. As soon as I get it out remote on mountain passes I’ll know more about the factory shock and if it needs to be changed out. I’m not here to sell icon just relaying what info I’ve experienced. Enjoy your truck!

this is what made me think of th 1.5" spacer lift....I'm thinking that any replacement coil over kit will be the same as this (whatever it advertises take off 1.25" given that the tremor is already that much higher than the regular f150 in the front)......this at least tells me that we can go up to 1.25" over stock without an issue (spacer or coil over replacement)

Wow, I really hope this is an option when we learn more. I’ve been trying to find the specs on the suspension through the Ford parts website with part numbers — no luck so far. I may call down to a dealership parts department for help.
I sent an email to eibach yesterday to see if they had an option that would work or would be getting one available. Will update with what they tell me.

Curious what the travel is on the shocks. Can’t find any specs on the mystery shocks. LoL

Thanks for reaching out! unfortunately we don't offer anything for your vehicle. If you are in the Southern California area, feel free to submit our "Vehicles Needed" form here in case our R&D department is looking for test vehicles.

- Team Eibach

So basically anyone living near their R&D headquarters may be able to provide access for a free leveling kit.
