Rear spring help

I would think a set of rear shocks would be what you need unless your truck is also loaded with additional weight. Our rear shocks don't do a lot of dampening. Anything (total payload) north of 800 pounds, I would look into RAS or timbren.

I get my RAS, today so I should be able to test them out, this weekend and will report back.
total payload will be around 900lbs after hitch weight and packed truck bed for camping. I used timbrens on previous f150 with great results. Look forward to your thoughts with RAS installed

My plan is airbags and daystar cradles to go along with them. That way you get the benefits of the airbags when needed but don't loose the downtravel either.

Anxious to hear your results. That seems like the best plan for me too.

This forum is costing me a lot of money and I haven't even taken delivery yet.
Welcome to the club, except I've had my truck for a while.

I think many of us have spent so much money, we'll be much less likely to switch soon. Ford would consider that owner loyalty, I would call it, pot committed

Definitely committed at this point lol.

When I go to the shop to ask about the level, I'm going to ask them about options to reinforce the leafsprings. Let us know if you hear anything on your end, I'll report back as well.

WIll do. I hope to give the RAS a try, this weekend and will toss my opinions, here.

I read a couple of very positive reviews on it. I will try to find one of them later and post it.

Went to the 4x4 shop today, wish I had found this one sooner, great people and pricing.

Anyways asked them about the RAS kit and they showed me this, which is apparently a new product:

Hooks up to a feeder line and that line gets plugged to your OBA and you fill to what you need. Can add 3500 lbs of support. Can be filled by an ARB single. OBA does not need to stay hooked up while it's aired, just to fill it. When you're done you release the air from the line like a regular valve stem. 2 hour install time. So same cost all in as the RAS, aside from the OBA (which I already have and many of you plan to get).

They said they liked this better because they had gotten comments that the RAS affects ride (stiffer) and isn't as effective as this with load. Plus this one you air it as much or as little as you want. There is supposedly one in the works that has its own compressor and can be set by an app on your phone.

I think I will go with this, had them add it to my estimate with the auto spring level install, 295/70r18 Baja boss AT, 18x9 +18 method 305s, and the powdercoat. Will report back in a few weeks.

Yeah, the RAS definitely stiffens the ride. With my trailer, I still had just over a 1" rake. That positions me to add the 1" lift when I I stall the icons.

At the 25% setting, it added an inch lift to the rear. I'll try to call their support to see if there is a good way to tune it.

As for towing, I think I got spoiled with the Rebel's air bags and 4 link. The engine and transmission were both rock solid but the trailer felt like it was wandering a bit.

I'll give more of an update after speaking with RAS support.

Nope. I can't get a Ford dealer to call me back. Thinking about planning a vacation to get to a good dealer

With the ~1" additional lift I expect from the Icons, that should drop the rear end about 1/4" at the ball which will flatten out the trailer and truck to exactly level.

The positive part of the RAS is I can remove/reinstall them in 20 minutes

The fact it can be swapped out in a few minutes is why I'm probably going to go this route, unless you find some major negatives, so please keep us informed.

For sure. Give me through next weekend to give me time to hit a couple more loops and get some feedback from RAS

Standard. I think the HD would be more than I need and definitely more spring than I want.
