"Remote Features disabled to preserve battery" Ford Pass APP - Who all is seeing this??

300 miles on the truck and Ford Pass noted the battery was low, I checked it, it was 12.2 volts. Put it on the charger for 6 hours, charger was putting out 15 volts @ 10 amps, checked the battery again, it was only 12.73 volts. Drove the truck 160 miles yesterday, checked the battery this morning and it was 12.6 volts. Just dropped it off at the dealer and the voltage was 12.4 when I parked in the svc bay. The Alt is charging at 13.5 volts at idle, dealer says anything between 13.5 and 14.5 is good.

The battery has got to be bad.

I got it on the screen today. I moved the truck out to driveway while working in the garage and the battery low message displayed when I brought it back in. Starts just fine though. The last 4 or 5 vehicles I've owned did the same frequently and never had a no start.
So like Derek from V G G says 'I'm just gonna pretend I didn't see that".

Could be, but I doubt it. Bad cell would have trouble staying above 12 volts. Did you use a AGM charger? Remember you loose up to 5 amps on the charger just to overcome the trucks draw.

i used my Snap-on charger which can be used for AMG's, it charged

I used my high end Bluepoint charger that works on AMG's, after 6 hours it went up from 12.2 to 12.75 volts. I drove it the next day for over 160 miles (two hours min at fwy speeds), the next morning it was down to 12.5 volts.
Cheked it this afternoon it was 12.5 volts, drove it to the dealer today and it was down to 12.2 volts, using the same Fluke meter. I have never been able to get the battery up to 13 volts. The dealer tested the battery and the test came back with "low battery", needs charging, which I already did.
If the truck truly draws 5 amps while parked, then the charging system it greatly undersized as it only puts out 13.5 volts.

Mine has been struggling for months now. I'm wondering if it is worth a special trip to the dealership.
I just got my truck back this evening from the dealer, they tested the battery and it failed, they replaced it so we'll see what happens.

I've only had my truck for three weeks and it has a little over 500 miles on it.

Now what does your Fluke read with no surface charge?

After driving it home it read 12.3 volts, it sat for 20 hours and when I checked it, it was still at 12.3 volts, no drop.

I'm charging it up now and will monitor to see how fast the voltage drops, I wish I had a DC clamp-on amp meter so I could monitor the amp draw while parked.

Dang, I was hoping for more than that. I wonder if you can see any of that info in ForScan or a plug in OBD app. My buddy at the dealership says they don't replace battery's unless they are total crap or have less than 20% of their original performance. He also has told me I would still have the same problem even if I had a new high end battery like an Odyssey, due to my use case and underpowered charging system. In the video I posted it shows 3-5 amp draw with the ignition off, engine off. 18 amp draw with the key on engine off. You also have to charge it with the ground on the ground lug or the negative side of the BMS. So don't put the ground clamp directly on the battery terminal. Put it on top of the BMS.

Charged the battery last night, waited an hour after the charge to check voltage, voltage was 13.11, this morning (8 hrs later) it was 13.00, now at lunch (6 hrs later) it is 12.97. the new battery seems to be holding, at least better than the last one. The truck has not been driven since the charge.

My app currently has a message on the main screen saying, "Plugged in, not charging".
App still works fine, but found this to be funny.
Just checked, yup, I’ve got the same….

Just got this message, my truck is 3 months old. I have a suspicion this may be related to having the keyfob to close to the truck.

As you know when you get close to the vehicle it "wakes up"

Yesterday the car was parked at my moms house and I was working remotely in a room inside that is 10-15 feet way. I never locked the truck in the morning.

In the afternoon around 5 pm the app threw the "Remote features disabled to preserve batter" message.

I will be keeping an eye on the batter, hope its not gonna need another trip to the dealer.

I have already had 3 visits the first two months of ownership for a check engine light related to the fuel rail pressure system/sensors.

Drive the truck for 50 miles and then after that every 2-3 days do a 10 mile trip in it to keep the battery up, these things us a lot of power even when not running just to keep the electronics going as in the connected features. Either that or get a battery tender for agm batteries and use it once a week to keep it topped off.

I already have a ctek 3300 looks like it supports AGM in the snowflake mode

I have been having the same problems and voltage readings as everyone else mentioned above. I have a 22' with 13,000 miles. It started about 6 months ago. Auto start stop quit working (in stated working conditions) the ford pass app told me remote features disabled, the infortaiment screens cuts off after ignition is off. Also I have very low voltage readings.
I took it to dealer and they said it was fine and that was normal and battery was good and they could not replace under warranty.
I dont find that "fine" on a 70k truck that is less than 2 years old. I wonder if I should try another dealer to get a new battery or just buy a new one myself. I would like these features to work.

Mine has been doing the same thing. (2023 400a with 15,000 km.)
Several messages in the Ford app that says it is shut down to preserve battery life.
A few times I have hooked up the battery charger and it says it is down to 70% charge.
I am having it serviced next week and will mention it to the dealer.

These trucks are power hungry beasts, if you don't drive them 10+ miles a day they will drain the batteries, the connected services and the luxury they provide are part of the problem, prior to you getting your truck it has sat for an unknown amount of time, sometimes months, so really hooking up a battery tender or driving 50+ miles in a single trip are the best way to prevent these warnings.

I’ve had this issues as well right off the get go after getting the truck new back in March. What I found out as the major contributing factor is what one member had mentioned, while working on the truck in garage with the fob in my pocket. The constant waking was the issue, the past 3 or 4 times I have now left the fob in the truck while working on it and I haven’t seen the low battery issues in months….just my findings.

I just found this. Very interesting video.
