Shell on Tremor?

I ordered and obtained this way back in February, it’s a 21+ version and fits great. I just had to wait another 5 months for my truck to arrive. I also have a bedrug in there, wife approved. It was $3995
If Mom’s not happy, no one is happy.

Has anyone officially confirmed that a shell designed for a 2015-2020 F-150 will NOT fit a 2021+ F-150? I asked a LEER and ARE dealer and they said 'no, due to the changes in the cab mounted brake light and bed camera area - they are in conflict and will touch'. But, he had a strong interest in selling me a new one ;). Not many used 2021+ canopies come up for sale, but some 2015-2020 do and curious if they would work.
Anyone know?

Not sure if it helps but RSIs cap difference between 2020 and 2021 was an inch longer cab side piece then they shifted the cab backward about a quarter inch.

I've read posts on the forum for a while but haven't commented before .... so let me know if I'm missing anything.

I have for sale (5.5 bed - 2021 model):
  • RSI SmartCap Evo
  • RSI SmartCap Stow-Away Table
  • BedRug
$3,950 for the package. I'm located in Lexington, Kentucky. All items were purchased one year ago; I'm the original owner and have the invoices.

I'm purchasing another truck and plan to do the exact setup. The SmartCap is the best cap I've ever had.

Thanks,

David

A.R.E. Overland with Yakima rack + bed rug. Main problem now is how the helllll do people access anything on the racks without a sizeable step ladder?? I'm 6'0 and even a 13inch mike crate isn't helping that much. Coming from a 4runner and the height is ridiculous.

Haha I just use the rack to pull myself up and stand on the tires! Nice topper though!

Looks amazing! I want the same cap for my Iconic Silver tremor.

Update on the ARE overland. Whistle is out of control. I am going to try and throw some electric tape around the bars today to see if that’s what’s causing it. Also tempted to remove the front bar and relocate it to the roof with clamps to spread them out a bit more. On the short bed, they’re only about 43 inches apart.

Other notes. I wouldn’t get the windoors again. Given the height of the tremor, they’re basically useless for loading unless you’re just tossing stuff in there. You can’t stand on the wheel when they’re open because you have nothing to grab onto. Step stool only option.

Anyone have experience with leer toppers? I had a snug top on a 2013 raptor but cap it dealer is telling me to go with leer or bulldog which is essentially built by leer.

Do you have have the Jetstream bars? Yakima or ARE forgot to add the rubber seal on the underside of my bars when they shipped it. I had to go back to the dealer and get a strip for each of the bars and install it myself. The whistling was unbearable until I installed this. Once I did, problem fixed. Evidently this is a major quality control issue with ARE and happening a lot. It may be called the, "bottom infill."

It is the 100XR, paint match is perfect and very happy. It is my second leer. Dealer said 4-6 weeks wait but it arrived in under 2 weeks. Check their wesite, always have coupons for free liner + rebates. rear end squated maybe 1/2 inch on a brandnew tremor (350 miles). S/b about 260ish lbs.

Good info! Thanks taxgod

Also went with the ARE as it was what I was happy with on my 2012. Just as happy with this one. Added the "Cap Pack" ceiling mounted drawer which I am very happy with, removes a lot of stuff from the bed, locks, and is not all that visible from the outside. Also real happy with the elimination of the plastic strip at the bottom of the rear windoww, now all glass. To increase the stability of the Yakima racks, I added 3 marine cleats on each side to strap down my Yakima roof box or whatever else I might have up there. My Yakima racks are a bit long and hang over, which is ugly but good to carry more cargo, so I leave them off unless being used. The cleats are also good for lifting off the shell if I need to using my block and tackle from the ceiling.

How big of a difference is there from the 2017 5.5 bed to the 2023 5.5 bed. Found a good deal on a topper.
