Shell on Tremor?

Never been a fan, takes away a bunch of the use of the truck, but I guess it also depends on your needs.

I would've just gotten a 4 door bronco with the fat tires instead of getting a shell
I'm in the same boat. If I wanted a shell I'd just have got an SUV, like the bronco with the fat tires. Idk I feel like it takes away a lot of the truck functionality to replace it with different functionality. 🤷‍♂️
Completely different....when is the last time you hosed out your SUV? If I was only putting groceries in the back, yeah I get it. I actually use my truck for truck things.

I'm on the fence between the RSI with Decked system, or going with the Peragon bed cover again. I figure with the RSI can use it to sleep in on weekend hunting trips, plus the fold out kitchen makes for less I would need to pack. The Peragon was great on my ram 1500, kept everything dry and was easily removable. The only hang up I have with the cap is spraying blood out of the back. Does anyone have experience with spraying blood off a Decked system or out the back of a capped truck?
I just climb as far back in the bed as I can so I'm actually spraying the blood out rather than towards the cab. Parking on a slope helps.

Ok, I've had it with you human's insensitivity. I mean, I can't even sleep in a 6'5" bed without balling up into the fetal position. Have some consideration people. :)

All kidding aside, If you read previous threads, it could very well be because you're nearing 50 that shells are starting to look cool. Being an immature 53 myself, I've never had a shell (mainly because they couldn't hold enough weight) and I still don't appreciate color match but I would be lying to myself if I said that day isn't on the horizon. I wonder if this could be my thesis. "As men mature, the desire to cover stuff increases" a Psychological thriller and thesis by Yeti.
Yeti, i saw on topperezlift they sell a tent piece that connects to you cap that goes off your tailgate and is removable, kind of expensive, but solves you and I's problem of short bed. https://topperezlift.com/index.php/product/the-nomad-camper-package/

I've looked into those types before. This one definitely looks better than the rest. While $600 isn't cheap it's a ton cheaper than another RTT.

I would need to figure out how to place my gear all on one side but that could be doable. The only remaining item is where to put the food waste. Being grizzly level and snuggling with snacks is less than ideal but I only have 3 states left to traverse that have those big furry bastards.

There would be no room for my lovely wife, so that's a bonus. :)

Snacks get locked in good cooler in cab.

Anyone know much about Ranch toppers? To be honest I've been reading reviews of all the big name brands and they all seem to have their unhappy customers (of course all taken with a grain of salt). The reviews I found of these all seem to be pretty positive and the prices seem to come in under a Leer, and wait times aren't as long.... https://trucknstuff.ca/ranch-truck-caps-sierra-xtra

I had a Tacoma with a snug-top and really missed my shell and the storage I had…..so I did this instead to my Tremor.

I was gonna go for something more like this...

(and no disrespect meant to whoever built this...it's actually pretty cool and the design looks solid...)
Add a swing out toilet seat and that's awesome! Maybe attach it to the door swing the door open then swing the toilet seat out, feet on the tailgate your good to go!

So, I hate having a canopy on my truck, but it's unfortunately mandatory in my situation. I have two giant Impact Crates strapped into the bed of the truck for my dogs, all of my dog training gear goes in there, and my dogs go everywhere with me. Not a professional dog trainer, I just do it as a hobby that requires a ton of driving. And while I hate the look, it is a lot of fun to customize the space and make it awesome.

I'm going with the ARE CX Evolve for a couple of reasons (everything else I looked at had most of what I needed but not everything). ARE has the option for the side windows that you can unlock/open AND have ventilation while driving (outdoorsman vented window). (Leer no, RSI yes) The CX Evolve specifically allows me to have the cab unlock with the key fob (Leer yes, RSI not sure, many of the ARE models don't so you should talk to a dealer). I also liked the LED lighting options more in the ARE as well, and the fact I already know a CapPack for storage of stuff will fit easily into the ARE (not sure if they work in the RSI). Aesthetically the RSI wins hands down, but I'm putting a canopy on for functionality for my specific needs.

So that's a long way of saying... I don't love the way canopies on a truck look, but I'm going to do it anyway and work to ensure the rest of the truck meet my aesthetic needs. Which is why I got a Tremor, duh.

RSI does not have powered locks.

New guy here...Sent in specs to a dealer this weekend to put in an order. Hoping to get the truck in July (when I return to the US from Korea on my way to my next duty station). I found this "topper"/"cap" somewhere on this website, but can't find the thread again. Seems like a very interesting concept. I loved having a topper on a previous truck, because of all the stuff you can keep out of the elements when moving across country. BUT, it was a PITA when I wanted to store it and have a truck that looks like a truck rather than an SUV or needed to move something big. Thoughts?
