Tremor Amber Grille lighting

So I am a huge procrastinator and also a perfectionist I kid you not when I say this took me 6 hours to do. This is not normal and I have a problem. LOL. I'd assume most can do this in about 3 hours.

I can't give high enough praises to @Cblaxx19 ,this was well worth it. I'm super stoked with the results. The only before picture I had was from a snow storm.

When he is able to open more orders jump on them!

Looks really great. I was excited when I figured out glare free lighting. The Ford emblem really puts a finishing touch to the whole front of the vehicle.

Did you wire to an upfitter? That will definitely add some time to install.

Anything you suggest as improvements to the install instructions?

Also, have you increased your drl brightness in forscan?

Glad you like them!

It took me about the same amount of time including a run to Lowe’s for the missing putco studs.

I did do up fitter switches which definitely added a lot of time to the process.

I have 2 things to note. First was I made the holes you drill way bigger and out much farther to the edge of the grill, otherwise the wires still got pinched. It wasn't a big deal but after drilling a single hole in what looked like about the exact same spot as your video, there was no way it'd sit flat, so I had to extend it out so the wires had room. Not a big deal, and an easy fix.

My other issue and I might just not understand the route you did, but on the passenger side, if I mounted the box behind the headlight, there was absolutely no way the connection from the grill light would ever reach the connector to the little box. I pondered that over a beer, and ended up relocating the little box to under a painted section of the engine bay, up higher than it'd be on the headlight and giving me tons of slack.

You've obviously done it so I assume it can be done, but there was no way my hands could ever make that connection. I'm really happy with where I put it, I think it'll hold, I'll keep an eye on it.

On future builds I'd add more wire to the grill section and the controller box. It's easy to stuff excess wires somewhere but not having enough is a little frustrating. I'm talking just the ends with the connectors. I could have extended them myself, but I was at the point of the grill being back on and I hate splicing wires if it's not necessary.

I hope that wall of text doesn't seem like a complaint, just sharing my experience. I'd buy them again in a heartbeat. 100% satisfied!

Edit: yes, my DRL's are at 60%, i was surprised and very pleased with how bright the Putco emblem and your grill lights are. I swear they match the 60% perfectly.

I echo the part about drilling the holes further out.

I didn’t run into wire length issues on the passenger side though. I hooked up the voltage regulator box and was able to stuff everything in from the front, behind the headlight and then reach it from inside the wheel well on the passenger side.

Also, if anyone does this project without a dremel, I’d like to know how long that takes!

Well ignoring how slow I was at everything else. I did use a dremel to shave off the T's. I'd say with my ocd and going back and filing them afterwards to make sure they were perfectly smooth. The Dremel part took maybe 10 minutes total?

For the wire length.
My issue was the wire from the box with the connector, barely came up into the area where the battery is/was, then the wire from the grill light couldn't go in far enough to meet up.

Maybe I was suppose to try and connect it all lower🤔.

I didn't open up the wheel well on the passenger side since I removed the battery and battery tray to get to the up fitter switches and I could easily get to the back of the headlight from there. This length problem could of been self inflicted. 😂

Yea I attach the little box to the grille lights and then pass that length through from the front and didn’t have any issue mounting the box to the back of the headlight ballast and reaching any of the drl/turn signal wires from there.

But additional length should be an easy request from my light strip supplier and could mitigate struggles in the future so I appreciate the feedback!

I’m assuming you didn’t take any photos of where you ended up with the hole? My lights sit flat so I didn’t have that issue but if one person had it, I’m sure others will too.

No sorry I didn't take a picture. But basically I just widened the hole going away from the original screw hole.

In my opinion it was an easy on the fly fix. There is plenty of room for either a properly placed hole, or a giant hole.

Cblaxx19,
Just received my lights after tons of shipping delay notices. Very nice work, I can see Putco buying you out. But I have a few more questions. What does the box actually due? Make the blink animation? Can I get rid of it? I just want DRL lights and nothing else. Would wiring both hot wires together make it brighter?

it’s a voltage regulator. Your alternator will output anywhere from 11-14ish Volts. The leds are sensitive to voltage spikes so the regulator knocks the spikes down. Please do not wire them without the boxes.

Received mine last Friday, but might be trading the truck for a Raptor. Still new in box -- PM me if interested! Edit: sold for Cblaxx19's standard selling price and hoping they're going to a fellow enthusiast.

Uh, these are like NFT's except when they were popular. Everyone wants them.

Yeah dude - you have a rare product.

@Cblaxx19 - how many sets of these lights are there out there in the wild? Like 5 beta testers and 20 first orders?

This is where I drilled and actuall ended up make the hole a little larger toward the outside of the grill.

Not too shabby. My only request, as big cam said is longer wiring. I also re-routed the passenger side. The two wires connect through a hole on the upper frame, above the washer reservoir.

Id also suggest to cut back some of the electrical tape on the light harness to give more room to work attaching the splice. *info for future installers.

This is easily the most ridiculous grille I've ever removed,

Thank you @Cblaxx19 these are bitchin!
