What's new

Tremor Amber Grille lighting

Make sure the spade connector actually went into the t tap. They like to go off to the side. Had that happen to me a few times.
This was the issue! Thanks for saving me some time in trouble shooting. Install is all wrapped up. I’ll post some pics in a bit

My delivery got delayed from today due to weather ☹️

Finished with the install.
I wired the grill lights to Aux 6 and the Ford Emblem to Aux 5. Tapped the turn signals to the wires per the instructions.

If I had to give anyone tips doing the install.
1. Read instructions and watch videos 1st. I ended up drilling larger holes than necessary because I didn't read the part about how to take off the connector.
2. Pull out a few active louvers. They are super easy to get out and make access a lot easier.

The good stuff:

Just waiting for my chance to order

I plan to install mine Sunday. I think I like the turn signals, they probably aren't synced up with headlight signals. Looks like the tap 3 lane change is pretty close from your vids.

Wasn't sold on the on and off colors when I first saw the pics, but ordered it anyway. Your pics look amazing, to bad UPS has rescheduled my delivery every day since they were shipped out. Now I can't wait. How do you have your DRL's on with it not moving? Mine only come on when in gear or when I walk up to the truck.

Turn the lamp switch to parking lights.

Turn on the parking lights or you can put it in neutral and put on the parking brake and the lights stay on.

Hi, also joined specifically to hopefully be able to purchase. Awesome idea and very nice look.

Any news a pre orders yet?

Not yet, I got hit with some hefty surprise import duties on the last batch so I’m currently quoting new suppliers for my housings/contemplating switching to injection molding based on projected orders. Trying to figure this stuff out while also still making the current orders.

I got mine finished up this morning. Only issue I ran into was I had one of the wires pull out of the plug when wiring up the lights because I didn’t push it back on enough when I put the plug back on. The only other issue I may run into is on my turn signals. The wire for those is smaller than the rest and I probably should have used a smaller tap, but it is all working at the moment. No hyper flash or anything on my 401.

And my drl’s are on, my phone has hard time catching pics of leds

Cblaxx19, here is a question for you. I was messing with ForScan today. If your light it tapped into the DRL's and we increase our brightness with ForScan. I wonder if they will be brighter? not sure if it just increases voltage or something in the actual DRL's. Anyone have the lights and have messed with the DRL brightness?

So I actually wrote about this a little while back. I upped my drl brightness to 50%(factory setting was 25% I think).

I THINK it made the light bars brighter. But it could be a placebo affect kind of thing. If I played around with more brightness settings, I could probably definitively say, but I haven’t done that yet.

Did you end up taking the battery out to get to the aux switch wires? I plan to hook them up to an aux switch as well. I hadn't thought of using 2 switches, interesting.

Yes you need to take out the battery. Makes it much easier.

You don’t have to take the battery out, but as @ChsTremor said, it’s a pita to work on the wires with the battery in.

Go ahead and unwrap the putco to make sure they sent you the studs for the back of the emblem. Mine showed up today with out the studs so I had to make an angry trip to Lowe’s.

Just finished wiring everything up. Still need to find ish buttoning up and trouble shoot the left turn signal but damn this looks good.
I even had a little rain start when taking the picture so I really look like @Cblaxx19 !

Looks Great! Where did you order the Putco lighted Ford Emblem from? Does the Putco one have a blue background around the Ford text or black background like the stock one?

I got mine from Amazon bc I wanted to have it next day. It is a matte black background. The whole emblem is matte black which I didn't know but it actually looks good when the truck is off. It goes with the matte on other areas of the truck.
