Tremor Amber Grille lighting

The wires can be found in the harness that plugs into the back of the headlights.

This is written in the install instructions under wiring the the DRL’s. 😜
Are there install instructions? I'm sure I'll figure it out but any lessons learned would help. Remove grille, replace orange trim...

Check here and make sure to read them through and watch all of the videos. Dont be like me and just ask questions instead of reading the instrucitons.

@Cblaxx19 - You may want to put a link to the install instructions in the first post of this thread. I can see it getting asked multiple times.

The only part I'm not 100% sure on is this...On a 402

The only thing I'm still unclear on at this point is...on a 402 is the wire harness just plug in between the strip and head lights and you're done? I don't want it to flash with the turn signals. I just want it on with drls so the other 3 leads pictures will not be used?

Yes it is just plug n play. You will plug the harness into the headlight connector and then the headlight. Then plug the light bars into the the leads coming off of the harness. Since you don’t want the turn signal function, you will just use 2 of the 3 connections on each side.

Excitement level is high! Putco emblem and the grill lights showed up at the same time. It's going to be a weekend!

Hey @Cblaxx19 for extending the wires to an aux switch, what Guage do you recommend? Or rather what guage did you use?

they are really low current draw being just LED strips, but id just match the gauge of the Upfitter wiring which im not positive but would guess is like 16-18 i think. when i originally wired mine to an upfitter, i think i just grabbed whatever i had on hand which was like 18/4 security wiring and just used 2 of the 4 strands that were in that....

Don't judge... that was the development days...

Go ahead and unwrap the putco to make sure they sent you the studs for the back of the emblem. Mine showed up today with out the studs so I had to make an angry trip to Lowe’s.

Just finished wiring everything up. Still need to find ish buttoning up and trouble shoot the left turn signal but damn this looks good.
I even had a little rain start when taking the picture so I really look like @Cblaxx19 !

What’s going on with the left turn signal?

I suspect my splice didn’t take. the light bar is not blinking.
Make sure the spade connector actually went into the t tap. They like to go off to the side. Had that happen to me a few times.

Should I add any kind of water proofing here? The other side looks like it had a little silicone or something, as does this one but it looks like it came off on this side

, probably in the freezing cold shipping.

Or am I overthinking it. 🤔🙂

you shouldn't need to. the light strips themselves are sealed before they get installed to the housings. the silicone coming out of that hole is the adhesive i use to lock the lens in. sometimes it fills enough to come out, sometimes it doesn't. there's definitely more of it up in there surrounding the end of the light strip that is already sealed on its own. if you want to put some additional silicone up in there for your own assurance, go for it, but it shouldn't be necessary.

Awesome, thanks for setting my ocd mind at ease. These are going on today!
