Tremor Rear Shock Options

Man that’s tempting. Wish I knew how they felt on my truck without spending the money first lol.
Yeah I know but that's over $50 less for both, it makes it so much more tempting. Damn the deck because of it I will have to wait for a few weeks.

*ahem*

Still plenty happy enough to wait out a proper Tremor specific front+rear package from a higher end brand. I pretty much drive it like I stole it and SC roads are pretty much equivalent to a 1/10 offroad trail.

And even now the only real reason I'm willing to replace is due to brand reputation rather than ride quality.
You have the RC coil fronts and the vertex rears?

Well, for what it’s worth here’s my take on it. The 5100s for example, on the 2” rear lift model, are 1” shorter at full extension than the Tremor, so it’s not going to labeled specific. On the 5100 4” model it’s 1.5” longer than the Tremor OE when it’s compressed, so it’s out. The 5165 is shorter when collapsed and longer when extended so that’s all good, but it’s not valved for a F150 but instead has universal valving so it won’t be labeled Tremor specific due to that. It’s the only one (5165) that I’m aware of (could be wrong) that’s in the sweet spot by being shorter when collapsed and longer when extended and is probably the safest bet if you want to replace them right away. If you go off road with them (5165), you aren’t going to tear up anything any worse than you would’ve by using the OE shocks. That’s my take anyways. Someone feel free to correct me if I’ve misstated anything.
Pin this post to the beginning of the thread or at least put an equivalent summary in the first post.

In other news, I got tired of waiting for someone else to throw their money away.. Just ordered the 5165s

Now to see if we have a marketplace. I know of some 5160 that will be for sale very shortly...

Hopefully you saved the $50 with the deal I posted.

Loving this. Eibach news, Yeti caving out of all of us and spending more money. Great day.

Just spoke with Eibach and they are a few weeks away from releasing their rear shocks. Let’s see if they stay true to that commitment.
I hope this is true. If it is then I’ll probably be glad I haven’t got my Pass Points yet. That being said, Eibach told me last fall they would have a leveling kit for the Tremor in Q1 of 22, so I won’t hold my breath. Surely though this will be true since they have fronts available already.

Well Faktor34 I think you sold me. Worst case scenario the ride is a bit stiff when empty right? Everything else will be major improvement. Right? Stated simply enough?

Exactly, more stable and handle the weight better, that's my thoughts!

Well then it is done. Thank you for sharing. Between having to pay $500.00 to upgrade tires and now $400.00 to upgrade shocks ….geez man.

Count yourself lucky that's all, that's about a 1/3 of what I've spent so far and haven't even bought tires or shocks yet

LOL. I’m not counting mud flaps, wheel well liners, spray in bed liner, phone holder, seat covers, floor mats, couple sets of Yakima racks, cargo cage and roof top tent. PPF, window tinting and self applied ceramic on deck. I’m sure glad my wife doesn’t read this.

Amen, although I have used it to show her I'm not the only one.

I just remind mine it was all her doing, I had just put new brakes on my 17 and then she starts texting me different trucks about a week later, I told her she was crazy, then she texted the Tremor, at that point I had to tell her she was the smartest woman in the world. So she wanted to go see if it was in yet and that's when she saw her new explorer timberline that she now has. I thought she loved me but in the end it was a ploy to get her a new vehicle. She's tried to convince me otherwise but I won't buy her story. But hey she makes more than I do so what can I say.

Well after reading this yesterday I got a little excited and decided to call Eibach and see what story they gave me. The guy that answered the phone didn’t really have any idea but went and asked R&D about the rears and they told him, who in turn told me, they would not be releasing a Tremor rear shock because the market was not big enough for them. Thinking they designed a Tremor specific spring I asked him why they were ok designing a new spring for the Tremor but not a rear shock. He said the leveling shocks and springs are actually the same ones that the standard F150 uses so they didn’t have to design anything new. I knew the shocks were standard F150 leveling shocks but I really thought the springs were something new they developed. Guess I was wrong, but it doesn’t matter much I suppose. Long story short is they told me they have zero plans to design rear shocks for the Tremor.

And yesterday evening @MAC316 spoke to Eibach who confirmed they would be releasing specific rear shocks in a couple weeks. 'Round and 'round we go.
