lol good grief. I’m about to start giving names of the people I talk to at Eibach. Who’s up for calling next? This is almost funny except we all really want shocks lol. since my to short eibachs are showing up today I also thought I should call them before i install them. Dude told me would be a few more months before they will be marketing a rear shock. Kinda concerning within 24 hrs we got 3 different answers.
We'll have an empty truck with the 5165s on it (hopefully) within 10 days. If people send bottles of bourbon to me, I may be persuaded to share my findings. If they're good bottles, I'll be throwing on the big tires and running up the hill. It it's PVW 23, I'll drive it up the rocky side. You save $$$ on shocks and I save $$ on booze. This is why I started looking for universal shocks that fit our dimensions, that's also why I questioned 4 companies to contact Bilstein and called them myself to verify. They have been consistent on what has been said.

To my knowledge, no one on here has tried the Vertex. For most I think it’s the price, for some it’s the Brand, and likely for some it’s because they are a hair shorter than OE when extended.Any reason why there is more love for the bilsteins than the vertex shocks? Price?
Price and the fact of RC prior reputation, it's hard to justify $800 for something that you've been burned by in the past.Any reason why there is more love for the bilsteins than the vertex shocks? Price?
On the Toyota forums they clam the Vertex is a re branded Radflo. I have never ran Radflo's but they have been around for a long time. The Vertex have been getting a lot of love as well. If I would have kept my truck stock I would have tried them out on all four corers in the 3" lift flavor. I have also had bad luck with RC in the past.Price and the fact of RC prior reputation, it's hard to justify $800 for something that you've been burned by in the past.
I have heard they were rebranded as well just didn't know from what, however you look at it most items we buy are coming off the same assembly lines. For instance their are only a few plants that do optics for firearms, each week they'll run a different brand, the ones that don't meet the companies criteria get auctioned off or sold and somebody else slaps their name on them and sells them at a lower cost. Everything works that way, it's just how things are done today. I am just not willing to shell out $800 on a product that I got burned with 10 yrs ago.On the Toyota forums they clam the Vertex is a re branded Radflo. If I had a truck today, this is exactly my thought as well.If Yeti reports back positives, I'll be really tempted to do the Eibach coilovers front and Bilstein 5165 rears. It's just killing me knowing they won't even match in color!
I also was wondering this. They would make good spares to toss on if you ended up with rebuildable ones in the future for while your rebuilding them. Can we get anything for our “special tremor shocks” to ease the pain. How would I market them? “Matching 2022 junk Tremor shocks.Only 200 miles on them. Very nice Tremor logo on shock. Never seen mud. I’ll pay you $100.00 bucks. My garage is full and so are the landfills.”
The Bilstein is able to be rebuilt.I also was wondering this. They would make good spares to toss on if you ended up with rebuildable ones in the future for while your rebuilding them.
They should yes, but why replace them before needed? If you do get a reputable brand unless they are longer though they won't change travel.Slightly separate topic but what about upper control arms? From what I've seen the same ones as a regular f150 should work. Wanting to swap those when I do the suspension also and just get it out of the way, should help with the travel I'd imagine.
