Tremor Rear Shock Options

interesting.

i have been eyeing the currently available option based on folks on here running them and Hotshot Offroad's tremor running them. i'm assuming the only real difference will be to not limit the down travel at all? I worry they are going to place a premium on them too just casue they are "Tremor Specific".

i have started noticing my back end seems to "hop" on washboard roads and such. its pretty annoying.
Yeah, icon has now listed the 2021+ coilover as not compatible with the Tremor. (And screwed me out of $2400 in the process) and I did send hotshot a pm about it.

Ultimately, I thought they were exactly what I expected from icon. A bit less travel but really solid performance. They are rusting more than I would expect but I think that was something to do with the initial build of these and not an ongoing issue.

For me, it's about liability. When icon changed their documentation that the coilovers are not compatible, I had to pull mine off. It's not worth the risk in case of an accident to be liable for the entire thing..

I would be nice if they finally brought out the tremor specific packages which should be roughly 3/4" longer extended front and rear over their 21+ offering

Installed the Fox Shocks with the 1” extended bump stops. Haven't had time to test yet but cant ride any worse on washboard fire roads.

Hey Yeti,

Thanks for all the info and testing the different suspension options for us. What did you end up putting in place of the Icons you swapped out after they stated they weren't compatible anymore? I've got a set of your Bilsteins on order and still deciding on whats best in front.

Has anyone considered/looked into the raptor gen 2 rear shocks? Below is that data Im seeing on them. Would the only thing needed is a 1" extended bump stop ?

RAPTOR GEN 2 P/N:HL3Z-18125-E
-Extended length: 31.1"
-Collapsed length: 19.1"

The extended length would be ok but the collapsed length is not right, you would have to extend the bump stops to make it work.

I don't see a
Quoted compressed or extended length.

Extended30.520
Compressed18.400

Yes that is very close, may want to add a 1/2" to the bump stops if using it for hard offroad use.

Having said that it all depends on what your trying to accomplish, if you want a super planted feel to the truck on the road there are much better options even lower cost than those fox shocks.

That's a different part number than your original post from Jeg's, though.

Really?

Which ones are recommended?

Again it all depends on what you are wanting to accomplish. If you are trying to accomplish a more controlled ride on the rode then check out the Bilstein 5160, if your wanting to haul more weight and still get the controlled ride, then the Bilstein 5165 that I posted a little farther back. If you want to have controll and smooth ride then Eibach makes one that sales for around $120. Basically their are several options, it just all depends on what your intended use is and what you want to accomplish.

I have read all 32 pages of this thread and well i am still on the fence. I have a 22 with the ras on it and as up front. I pulled my camper that is 6k and well the back is bouncy as can be and it hit the bump stops a few times. It does have that spongy ride empty as well. I dont hard core off road. Its a hunting rig. Not jumping or sevre off road. Trails and farm fields. What would you guys recommend? is a resi shock worth the extra money if its not getting wheeled hard?
by the way any one that is thinking about the ras go for it. I have had them on since pretty much new. they handle the extra weight extremely well. can not speak highly enough about them. Did not raise the rear of my truck at all.

The lowest cost would be the Eibach offering for the rear, doesn't mean it's not good either, Eibach has been around for a long time and only in the last few years have they broken into the offroad market so their offerings are a little less costly while they try to make their mark in this category, Bilstein 5160 would work as well if you want to stiffen up even more, bang for the buck though the Eibach is hard to overlook, especially if you are looking into replacing your suspension overall later on.
For your use I would go with Eibach, but that's my opinion.

My pavement princess is coming up on 20k miles, >15k of them with Eibachs. Would recommend.

I check on this thread from time to time to see if a shock that meets or exceeds our stock shocks' specs has been found and have no intention of changing them out unless an exact-or-better option exists.

Sorry if already posted; can you give the part number for the Eibachs that you have installed?
