Tremor versus Regular F150

Just get a lightly used Raptor. Better overall truck than the Lariat or Tremor and you won’t have to spend all that money on mods and upgrades 🤷🏻‍♂️
I can’t disagree with you more !! Terrible gas, mileage the truck’s a whole lot, heavier, terrible gas mileage again !!

To me the exhaust note is rather disappointing as well.
I like the way the look and drive. But the mileage you get out of them suck. I looked really really hard at them ! But went with the Tremor. On the Tremor I drove the V-8 , but went back with the V-6 . My last 3 trucks were FX4's and there still in the family! Running Strong.

It's really hard to find a 402a for a price I can do with the insurance payout.:( But I won't get anything else.

Possibly not surprisingly, what I am finding is that there are a lot of V6 models for sale and much fewer V8s, which is also a problem for me...
Very true.
Plenty of used EB TREMORS out there but not many Coyotes and when you do find one, they want a premium for it.

Can't pass that up!

Thank you for this! Just reconfirms the effort I need to put into finding another one. Even if I do replace the suspension and wheels/tires....
Did you get the screenshots of the two used 2023 V8 TREMORS that I linked on here a couple of days ago?

If not just let me know and i’ll send them again.

402 A or nothing.
for 2026, it might be 402b or nothing...402a has the regular 4A and no torsen. 402b has the hi-loc and torsen. Can't option both so 402a is a lariat with a lift, 401a is an xlt with a lift and 402b is an xlt with a lift, torsen and raptor transfer case. I suspect customer orders will trend toward 402b, dealers will still order 402a because it has the highest price point and they should sell zero 401a because anyone who picks 401a over 402b doesn't deserve a tremor.

That’s not how equipment groups work. 402A includes all 402B features.

Yeah, I see that, I missed that line at the top of the 402A box.. odd that they list the hi-lock transfer case under 402B and two speed automatic AWD with mechanical locking 4wd under 402A (which I guess is the same thing). In that case, I guess the 402A is cheaper than it was (wonder what it used to have that it doesn't anymore).

That depends a great deal on the mission. A Raptor will not tow as much nor can it be a supercharged V8.
As someone with a supercharged Coyote Tremor, I don’t disagree. I’m just saying, it comes stock with more of the mods he may be adding if he starts with the Raptor platform.

Agree. It’s about what you want. For me the ‘23 tremor 402a ecoboost with a tune is the sweet spot! Still can get 20 on interstate if at 72-75.

I haven't pulled the trigger on the tune yet though I have the supporting mods. Some day soon.

So, as I've mentioned, my daily driver/disaster response rig was totaled recently, leaving me looking for a new truck. I would love to have another 2023 402a V8 as that seems to be one of the best years for the Tremor thus far, and even if 2024+ were better, there's no way I'm getting enough insurance payout to afford that. These seem to be hard to find.

I really like the Tremor, though I've thought a lot about what makes it better than a regular F150, besides the cool stickers and orange accents. Sorry, Active Orange accents... Yes, it comes from the factory with better suspension and better tires, different wheels, improved angles, trail turn assist and longer axle vent tubes but I could also get any other level of F150 and add better aftermarket suspension, wheels and tires, remove the front air dam and still have a possibly-equivalent (??) 4x4 F150 and still not pay what it costs to get a Tremor. I'd imagine you could get a similar interior with a decent F150 trim level. I guess I'd lose the upfitter switches, exhaust tips, tow hooks and a few other features, but my question is this: at the end of the day, why buy a Tremor over a well-outfitted regular F150? Is the 4WD better or different? Does it work better/different? Essentially, are we buying more than just a few stickers and factory upgrades we're just going to replace anyway?

A bit of paint should fix it, right?

It doesn't seem fair that I should have to lose everything I've worked to build because of someone else's carelessness on the road, but I guess here we are.

I'm not seriously considering moving away from a Tremor if I can help it, but I'm interested to hear your thoughts.

Thanks guys!
I've got the 2025 f150 Tremor 402a trim with the 5.0 and am happy with it.

My decision...
1. Better tow/haul than the Raptor
2. I wanted the 5.0
3. The like the blacked out Lariat look but the following features pushed me to the Tremor.

1. Torsen front differential
2. Torque on demand transfer case
3. Modular bumper and running boards (similar to Raptor)
4. (Modes) Trail Control with One Pedal Drive, Trail Control, Trail Turn Assist

I think the 2023 Tremor is the sweet spot, but finding a 5.0 is tough.

Yes a lariat has 4 auto but it isn’t the same transfercase. For me, living in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. The Torsen diff and raptor transfer case means I have the best equipped f150 for winter roads.
Why not get a lightly used tremor? I picked up my 2023 with 20,000kms (13,000 miles) for $25,000 Canadian less than msrp. And a fully transferred extended warranty.
Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely looking for one, scouring the interwebs, but to find a V8 402a is difficult, let alone with bed utility package, tow package, Torsen, et cetera. I'm also not seeing prices anywhere near that good, sadly. Even for a truck with 90,000 miles, it's in the mid $40k, USD. There are lots of V6's but I'd rather not have a V6, personally.

Yes, I did! Thank you for sending those. I think they were both 401a, though.

For me, a Raptor wouldn't work as well as I need the towing capability, but I do take your point. Although, being real here, I'd probably go to the Raptor forum and find all the upgrades and mods I never knew I needed and mod it out anyway... :ROFLMAO: 🤑

unless you really really want/need the auto up and down tailgate or the step thing i'd quit lookin for bed util...you can retrofit the lights with oem parts and forscan

Good point. I'm short and fat (sorry, "compact and famine resistant") so it's nice to have that step, especially with the additional lift. I don't need the auto tailgate and can definitely do the lights myself...

It may come down to driving/flying across the country to find what I want, or conceding some of what I want to the winds of reality. There really aren't many 402A V8 2023 Tremors out there that I can find (and I really appreciate those who have helped me look!) Even without some of the other features like the Trailer Tow Package and the Torsen (which I can add later), I may have to change what I'm looking for.

So the question becomes, do I go for V6 with 402A, or V8 with 401A? I know there are a lot of V6 fans here, but there are also a lot of used V6 Tremors out there, which is a bit concerning to me (whether that's warranted or not).
