Not too bad if you consider that for the 23's and up in order to tune them the ECU has to be changed out. Thats like 1100 bucks or so on top of a 3rd party tune. Not to mention down time, etc.$825 seems like quite a bit for just doing a software update, however the increased performance is worth it. Reading the PDF instructions to install is just plugging in to the OBD port, I guess it covers a technician to sit on their arse and watch it...
Hey Moe7; I also just spoke with my dealer, and they said they will void the warranty after the 3/36. They said even though it is backed by Ford Performance, it still changes the original parameters of the truck from stock. He said it is not worth it, because dealers these days are just blaming tuners and other parts and gambling on wether the owner has the cash to take it to court.I've reached out to my local dealer to get a feel for how they would handle powertrain claims down the road, if they install the tune for me (and absent other abuse). I think it's more having a dealer that will advocate for you to Ford; they can either take the time to drill down to the root cause, or simply point to the tune as a contributing factor.
I never go to the dealer for maintenance so not very optimistic on this one, lol.
Haha, elevendy million hundred pesos makes the $825 seem like a real bargain! Not too bad if you consider that for the 23's and up in order to tune them the ECU has to be changed out. Thats like 1100 bucks or so on top of a 3rd party tune. Not to mention down time, etc.
Remember, this is blessed by the factory with a warranty.
If I wasn't considering trading my truck in, I would be all over it.
It will probably cost about elevendy million hundred pesos thru my local dealer.
Yep same. Not interested if it invalidates my very valuable extended warranty coverage.I just spoke with a Ford Performance Technical Advisor, and he said this tune will void any extended warranty purchased for your truck. This includes a Ford Premium Care warranty or any other aftermarket warranties like Ally, etc. Hope this helps. I was really interested in this product, but I have an extended Ford warranty, so it won't work for me. Good luck.
The reason I questioned is the Tremor EB is rated at 400HP and 500lb-ft of torque from the factory. The tuner adds +50HP and +10lb-ft of torque. That did not make sense to me. I would have expected something more in lines with +50HP and 50lb-ft of torque. Why question the validity? I think their press launch team messed up the Raptor vs normal 3.5L EB numbers, but other than that the quoted numbers align with a conservative tune for 91 octane fuel from aftermarket tuners.
Those are the same numbers as the 3.5L HO. Ford is advertising peak gains as well as their maximum relative increases in power. It's actually a pretty reasonable tune if you consider drivability for a truck. Big gains in low RPM torque, and a decent gain in high RPM HP.The reason I questioned is the Tremor EB is rated at 400HP and 500lb-ft of torque from the factory. Me too. More so than the power TBH.I interested in how the transmission will feel with this tuning
Are high temps something you are having trouble with? If so what conditions/weight are you towing? Several times I have towed 7000# plus being at max payload over 200 miles in 100 degree heat and never had any issues.I'm not looking to modify the truck except maybe a larger IC to help with high temps while towing and not chasing huge power numbers, just making towing more comfortable

Ah, yeah....hillsAbout a 5k lbs travel trailer going up mountain passes in Utah in 105 degree temps. Think a constant grade going from 4000ft up to 7000ft Coolant temp will get up to about 240 for me on those days. But on the flats or with lower ambient temps my gauge never switches over to the point where it actually tells you the temp.
The way it was explained to me by the local service manager was that the 3/36k would cover any problems associated with the tune while the current warranty continues on.I got an 8 year/100k PremiumCARE warranty. The only way to get the 3/36k is a dealer install then the extended warranty goes away. I'm at 26k already so that's not worth it.
Plus switching from 87 to 91 when I drive 20k miles a year would be really expensive. Right now for me premium is $0.90 more per gallon. If my math is right, averaging 18mpg that's $500 every 10,000 miles extra just for premium fuel.
