What's new

🛠️ What have you done to your F150 Tremor this week?

Not the best picture. I installed a custom power distribution panel (upper right by fire extinguisher) so that I could power my onboard air compressor (below left side of cab window, air tank mounted under gear vault on left), my 50" light bar (hopefully install in the next couple days) on the front of my camper shell, and rear lights (future when I decide what I'm doing with the rear bumper) off of a single 100a circuit and have a place for the relays and fuses for each device to be housed.
Also installed 2x 40" Kingpin LED light bars that I power by either the outlets in the bed or with a Jackery while camping. Each one has it's own remote on/off dimmer switch located at the rear of the truck near the yellow air hose on a mounting plate I fab'd up since I didn't really have a good place to mount them to otherwise. The light bars rotate and can change to red for a middle of the night bathroom run if needed.

Gave the bed some attention yesterday. Mounted some retractable D-rings and Self reeling Ratchet Straps on some Molle panels. Now i don't have a spaghetti mess of straps every time i look in the bed, thats now all stuffed in a bag under the seat :)
Which self reeling ratchet straps did you get? Worth it over normal straps? I'm looking to make my straps look cleaner for my large storage bin that I keep in the bed

Will cutting compound and a buffer remove it?
Probably will work, I haven't tried it. I should have gotten all that figured out and done before installing them. I found a sight online that sell the screws in black for baja design lights. But they want $18 for 4 screws plus shipping... seems excessive.

Amazon brand lol not the overpriced integral, juggernaut or radstraps

To answer your question, I do think they're worth it. 50 bucks and they're always organized. They may not rotate, but I don't foresee that being an issue

Got around to installing the Bilstein 8112 front shocks. Switching things up and will actually be doing the 8100 DSA in the rear, just waiting for inventory restock. Did a little drive with them so far and they are really nice. There is a little more firmness on sudden bumps but it’s much more dull at the same time compared to the factory struts. Best way to describe it is that you can feel the impact force being dissipated smoothly and quickly versus the factory shocks transferring it to the chassis more. Firm but good firm, and nothing at all like my experience in the past with the Bilstein “firm”. I didn’t adjust them out of the box due to lack of time and really no reason for it yet. Still running the stock tires and wanted to also stay right in their default ride zone. They were preset for 1.3” of lift and in my rush I actually forgot to do a before and after measurement of fender height. After getting the truck back on the ground the height gain was very apparent. Felt like going from a sedan to an actual truck. It’s crazy they leave the factory floor so low being marketed for offroad clearance. Can’t wait to do the rears because the imbalance now is obvious though survivable. Did a couple rail road track passes and it’s quite nice how stable it feels now. There’s no bouncing back at all it compresses, rebounds to the ride height, and you keep rolling. Definitely glad to knock this one off the books finally. Very Raptor-esque, especially with the Whipple because if you get on it the nose climbs now lol. Long winded summary of my day today. More to come as I continue with this Ford project truck.

Looks good, just wish they were adjustable like the bronco’s.

Very cool.
How was the installation?
Any issues with mounting the reservoir?
I think it might be a good thing that the rear shocks aren’t adjustable like the Bronco’s because I read that new wheels would be required for clearance.

Install wasn't too bad, only issue with the reservoir mounting was getting the lower spring clip nut in the frame, it was tight and didn't want to slide up. Fell inside the frame a few times. Always hate dealing with those pressed in bolts on the factory units. You just need so much clearance to get them to pop out, and it was less fun as I didn't have a lift this time for better leverage. I did see the note about those DSA rears needing extra room but I'm just gonna wing it. My plan is to get MR703's in the +25mm offset flavor so it puts me right on the edge of their specs for clearance, which I may just get quarter or half inch hubcentric spacers and run them either rear only or all around if I notice any issues with them. Stock wheels should fit fine as I believe the factory wheels have a backspacing of 5.5". Will be finding out hopefully soon, the backorder kills me.

Did the sunroof maintenance TSB, nice insurance. TBH I couldn't belive how filthy the seals were but then again it's parked outside.

Installed F150leds grille lights, as well as added a tremor badge to the grille

Side note- just ordered some 35x12.5 Baja boss ATs, 17" method mr305 bronzes in +25 and the stage 1 halolifts kit with SPC UCAs. My wallet is looking real thin now 😂

Installed my rearview mirror dash cam. Went with a Wolfbox G850 Pro and so far am very happy with it. Thanks to CBlaxx for his help with which fuses to go with for the hardwire kit.

A few pics for folks if they feel intimidated about running wiring in the A-pillars. It's not a big deal at all. Ford used clips to secure their wiring away from the air bags and there was plenty of room in those to run the dash cam wiring safely and securely.

Can you point me in the direction of those instructions?

Thanks for the info, this is a little more helpful. getting ready to get new tires and up to the 290/70R18 and it is down to the KO3's and Wild Peak AT4's. I really like the KO3's but the number of people who keep having problems with the balancing issue is still quite concerning.
I have issues with the KO2’s, as have several of my friends. I have had amazing luck with Wild Peaks on several vehicles, including my Tremor with AT4 E rated tires. In my opinion, this is a very easy choice. Wild Peak AT4 all day everyday.
