What's new

🛠️ What have you done to your F150 Tremor this week?

Squadron sports!

I wanted to get a K&N but after doing some research I decided to stick with OEM approved paper-filters. Sure it helps with throttle response (a bit) and maybe you'll gain 3-5 HP but the air entering your engine is not properly filtered and I want my F150 to last, especially with the track record of new trucks, I'm not taking any chances.

It's even more important to properly filter the air going into your engine if you're offroad a lot. I only have 20K on the OD and I've replaced two filters already.

I agree.
These are my engine and cabin filters of choice.

Yes, I purchased two of the engine air filters so I’ll have a fresh one ready to go after every oil change.

After finding some hard rub during articulation and weighted cornering I had the front crash bar trimmed and recapped. It uses the factory end cap removed and rewelded on to the shorter bar.

For a little cheaper you can get the Motorcraft FPP-92 from Rock Auto which is basically the same filter. I'm still being patient for S&B to release their Whipple intake. Going with their dry filters which are similar to OEM makeup. Oil isn't for me anymore

Those look nice

I like Motorcraft filters but, I’ve just always wanted something a little better not to mention that Motorcraft air and cabin filters were just as expensive as the WIX filters.

I used nothing but WIX filters in the past on my 2016 Lariat and they worked very well but, since they were bought out by Hastings, the quality of their filters took a nose dive so that was it for me hence the reason for my new air and cabin filters.
Also my oil filter of choice now is the Purolator Boss.

No issues so far. About 5,000 miles with it now. Just wrapped up adding a transmission cooler to help deal with the increased power
Nice…😎
After some miles, I’m looking forward to hearing / reading about your opinions on the new Bilsteins.
To be honest, if both front and rear shocks were DSA+, it’ll probably drive me crazy trying to figure out the perfect settings.

that looks like really nice workmanship. what is your suspension, wheel & tire set up that caused the rub?

I missed something. New bilsteins? Do you mean a new F150/Tremor product or (new) to him? Lol

New to him.
He installed the 8112’s and 8100’s.

FYI still waiting on the rears. I have the DSA 8100’s on order but Bilstein is having manufacturing/supplier issues so they’re still a little bit out. The 8112’s with DSA for the fronts are also around the corner. No regrets missing it on the front but I figured putting it on the rear would at least give me some use between unloaded, loaded, and towing things. Though I’m sure I’ll set it once and never touch it again and probably should source the non DSA lol

Ahh okay.

For those who are interested, I sent an email to Bilstein asking about if they’re going to offer the 6100’s for the F150.

He said right now he does not know the exact release date but to check back in on the website often because they’re always releasing new products.

I’ll be happy to pair these with my 6112’s, dump the 5100’s, and forget all about the 8112’s and 8100’s for my TREMOR.

@GREYWOLF What did your research yield relating to the overall travel of the 8112s for the F150 and how that would pair with a Tremor? I cannot remember what your post included when you broke down each offering and what the numbers were

Speaking of 8100s, I think it’s curious that Bilstein makes a lift set for the Jeep Gladiator that come in the Tremor specific length flavor.

It is the BDS 4” lift with Fox 2.0 shocks, Fuel Celsius 20x9 1mm offset with Falken AT4W 35x12.5x20 tires. The tires are a little wider than your normal 12.5. (13.1 I believe) Less offset or a slightly less wider tire would be fine. It was a slight rub on the outer edge of the tire up front at full lock. With just me in the vehicle, no rub. Add two 200lb passengers or on an angle and some slight rub occurs. With the trim of the front bar it is now not a problem.

Got around to putting on the J&L Oil Catch Can. Nothin difficult and feel lots better knowing I have add a little more potection

Finally found time and while it's not 115 degrees in NC to put on the Eibach Pro-Truck Stage 2R. Install wasn't all that bad although a lift would've made a world of difference. Really tried to not drop the lower control arm as the instructions intend, but the pressed in bolts on the factory shocks wouldn't budge even with an air hammer.

Pictures probably aren't the best for before and after and I didn't take measurements.
