What's new

🛠️ What have you done to your F150 Tremor this week?

@Beck Jacob - dumb question but how do those flares attach? Are they bolted in to the wheel well lip on the inside of the well or do they bolt through the body? I'd like to add flares to my Tremor, but have never been able to figure out how they attach to the vehicle!
@Whichwaysup not a dumb question at all. Here is the video of the install since it will do a lot better job explaining it than I could. lol. I should have taken some pictures during the install to show it but was too focused on just trying to get done. I've attached a couple of pictures of the locations on the front and rear that use factory locations to mount the bottoms of the flares. The fronts have brackets that bolt to the fender liner U-nuts, then the flares attach to those brackets. The rears you install s-clips on the fender and bolt the flare to the s-clips. Long story longer, you don't make any permanent mods to your truck to install them, with one exception on the rear, bottom, outer mounting point where you have to drill a hole in the plastic trim to get to the hole that is already in the metal.

Dang - that's a lot less permanent and complicated than I was expecting. Looks like some fender flares are in my future!

Yeah, you can definitely undo it without any problem. If you go with the same ones just make sure you have all the 7mm bolts that hold the fender liner to the front fenders. I only had 1 bolt on each side so I had to order 6 of them in order to mount the bracket for the front flares.

Ditched the Diaper and picked up the Raptor Transmission Skid Plate.. Much better!

Thanks for a great video with all the appropriate part numbers included. I bought the exact bill of materials you called out (in spite of the local ford parts guy seeming quite confused) and the installation was a snap. Great, relatively inexpensive upgrade that will protect the tranny and the cats. Thanks again.

Fender flares passed the automatic car wash test yesterday. Now if this stupid pollen would stop I'd be good and not have to wash the truck every couple of days.

Got it all done about 10:00 tonight. Happy with how it turned out. Pics aren't the greatest so I will try to get some during the day tomorrow.
What wheels and tires do you have and do you have spacers?

Wheels are Ultra, style is Atlas. They are 18 x 9 with a +18 offset. Tires are the stock 275/70/18. No spacers. With a +18 offset, even with an extra 1.5" of wheel width, you get an additional .63" of clearance from the suspension components, so no need for a spacer. I am planning to swap out to 35's (295/70/18) when the stock tires wear out, and with those the clearance from the suspension will be + .23" instead of + .63" which is plenty on the inside of the wheel. The outside will stick out + 1.03" farther than stock, and + .4" farther than my current configuration which I think will be just enough to keep the tires from rubbing on anything while turning or at full lock.

Awesome! Glad it helped out! My ford dealer was a little confused as well. 🤣 Thanks for watching and the comment!. I know others have done this mod over the last few years and I appreciated the help getting the right parts from this forum.

New video dropped... I know... I know. Raptor lights on the Tremor... But I love the look..I have a pre runner light kit on my Jeep and get lots of love for it...

Got my PhD in Ford hex/decimal calculus to change the turn signal flash count. :ROFLMAO:

You can also do that change on easy mode and forget calculus altogether!
In truth, I did the easy method and it updated the as-built format as well, which I then verified with the handy-dandy hex/decimal table in the FORscan mods thread. I was just trying to pretend to be smart. :ROFLMAO:

The week is young so to start off, replaced the pathetic Ford rear shocks with Bilstein 5100 (PN: 33253190) shocks. Took me about an hour cuz I'm old and fat. Ride was noticeably improved; no more bouncing over bumps and sway in turns. I'll get the fronts done this summer.

I know zip about shocks but the factory shocks were very soft and easy to compress.

I submitted my insurance claim to have my son's dent repaired . . . including the $500 tail light replacement. Sheesh, how lucky am I?
