What's new

🛠️ What have you done to your F150 Tremor this week?

Where did you find a size that fits?

Do you mean the dash mount or the length of the arms? I went with a builtright pro mount, I liked the idea of it mounting to a steel bracket that is bolted in under the dash. For arms I went with a 10cm arm for the driver side and the standard 7cm for the passenger side. I'm able to comfortably reach the phone screen without having to lean over at all (I'm 5'11").

Took longer to get boot camp loaded on my Mac than it did to install/code. Lot easier than ze Germanz

OEM harnesses/button (I don’t have bed package) and axial leds from Americantrucks…OEM was $75 for a pair vs $23 and these look brighter from pics I’ve seen (science!)

Where did you get the wiring harness?

Oemford.parts. Got my info from “lariat cargo lights” on gen14 forum (unsure on cross linking forums)

ML3Z-14A411-F drivers side jumper wire from existing plugged connector (dummy plug) at drivers side to switch and lamp.
ML3Z-14A411-D passenger side jumper wire from existing plugged connector (dummy plug) at passenger side and connecting to passenger side lamp.
Lights I bought separate (link above)

Button PN changed apparently:

TuxMats just showed up. Nicer than I thought. Little worried about the edges at the front doors catching my foot but need to play around with those little tabs some more.

Is that a rotating car seat? Where was that when my kids were smaller
Yep, I wasn't sold on it at first because of the cost but it's really nice. rotates 360 and locks in front or rear facing configuration. Super easy to get the kid in and out especially with the taller truck.

Is it smaller or functionally different or just tacticool?
I've found its harder to accidentally hit the panic button. Just a heads up, it does require you to cut open your stock FOB. And there's a pin keeping the actual key in the stock fob if you want to put it in your new one. I did just because I have the locking rear storage.

I don't panic very often so all good there. I watched the video of the guy doing it, whole time I was sure he was gonna slice his damn thumb off. I'm not CRAZY about the idea of destroying what I assume to be a very expensive stock key, but I might order the new cover to see how it feels. Is it significantly thinner?

Not significant in my opinion. There are aspects of the new FOB that are actually bigger.

Hmm, thanks for that. Doesn't look much thinner. Does look cheaper though. I'll stick with the stock one for now.

I bought it before I knew the stock one had to be cut open. I was on the fence for a while and one day just said "screw it". It is easier to get the key out to lock/unlock the seat storage than my other fob with a leather cover on it. But that's about it.

I forgot I ordered that months ago, haha. Need to install now that truck is here.
Do t press too hard while trying to remove bubbles. It will mark up the protector. But it’s only visible while wearing polarized glasses. Very strange complication I had. At first, I thought I ruined my screen…

You guys are slow to this key fob, it does look cheaper than the stock one. But every time I pull it out someone complements it and wants to see it. So it's blingy in a different way.

The main reason I got it was to see if it would stop the constant panic alarm. I would always set the panic off when I was working in the garage or yard with the key in my pocket. Some times even in the house doing nothing. I would always have to keep the key fob in one pocket all by itself. Zero false alarms since the upgrade.

Agree 100%, I like the look, and it definitely stops the panic button that I also seem to hit all the time in my pocket. It's boujee, but so is my truck so why not.
