Why Tremor not Raptor (your reason)?

Haha, yes I did. A large reason was my wife hated it. I was anal about keeping it nice in the interior and we have two kids under 3. I got tired of the constant complaining and made a drastic move. Complaining has reduced and morale has improved considerably all around. It was a good move. Plus, I really do enjoy the Tremor. It also fills the V8 need but now I just need some more ponies.
net whining has drastically decreased 😅

So you cared about keeping the Raptor's interior nice but not the Tremor?

I've got the poverty edition of the Tremor with the cloth inserts and pleather....er..ActiveX whatever faux leather BS bolsters.
I think its the same "leather" you just get the cool camo inserts. honestly i wish i had the camo but there's not cooter coolers with the cloth seats

I've always described my truck as a Raptor and aa Platinum had a baby.

For practical daily usage with practically zero off roading, the raptor may look the best (IMO), but isn't practical. The Tremor has that little bit of off road flare while still being a little more civilized.

But the real reason for me was I bought mine in 2022 and Raptors were still being marked up a decent amount. I was able to get my 402A on X-Plan pricing through my employer which brought it down to 69k brand new full loaded with every option except the front diff and folding center armrest.

Hard to say no to a huge discount.

Number 1, Towing. 2, Reg. gas, 3 won't go through auto car wash, 4 cost difference, 5 I still want one.

The Tremor suits the offroading I do better (trails, woodland, not jumping sand dunes). The long term maintenance cost of turbos, advanced suspension, etc. The Raptor is much less suited to tow, which I do quite a bit of.

If I were to get one, I'd get the Raptor-R. And before I ever got that, I'd probably get a TRX instead because I like the styling more.

This is the one thing my wife had to have, my one thing was the coyote, we both got what we wanted plus 0% for the win!

Towing and width. I work in the city sometimes and don’t want to be overly wide parking in the street. And the tremor comes with the raptor steps so they serve as a door ding defender in parking lots. I got a trailer I tow my tractor or materials in so I need a decent tow rig. It’s not a diesel but close enough for what I need.
Plus you don’t see a lot of Tremors on the road as you do Raptors.

Cost is one reason. The other is that I am not a fan of the Raptor body style. I just traded in my 22 Tremor for a 26 Tremor!

You bring up a good point. I found a parking garage the other day with a 7' height clearance. I actually had to pull my phone out and see how high my stock Tremor was. At 6'6", 6" of wiggle room wasn't enough for me. I passed. The Raptor with the 37" tire package is almost 7'. Then, like you said, you have the width to deal with as well.

It always makes me flinch going in 7-0 parking garages. And then I pass mid perch Raptor R’s and question why I’m the one nervous lol.

I did similar going into an airport parking lot for the first time after being used to just blazing in with the M3 for years. clearance was 6'8" though lol. I carry the oem antenna with since it sits a little higher than the highest point of the cab and use it like a feeler.

And...I just towed 400 miles with 10,000lbs through the PA mountains with zero trouble.
Have you removed your snow tires yet and replaced them with your 305s? My 402a should be here in about 2-3 weeks and contemplating 305s on Roush Iridum gray wheels.

I’ll add that when I had my previous trucks I would see Raptors and be instantly jealous. With the Tremor, not so much. I like them, and still want one, maybe. But man I love my Tremor! Lately I’ve even been entertaining the idea of just sending it off for a Raptor conversion instead of getting a new truck.
A Raptor Conversion , I have heard it all now ! WTF is that?

LOL. I got my tremor because it isn’t a raptor. Why would you…? Never mind.
