Why Tremor not Raptor (your reason)?

Because I wanted the V8 but the Raptor R is outside my budget. Ford should really think about offering the 5.2 or even the 6.8/7.3 as an option imo
i bought my tremor because it had the 5.0 V8 when Ford's competitors insist upon a wrung out v6 with twin turbos. No thanks.. I originally wanted a Dodge Ram Hemi since their interiors are real nice now and i couldnt find a Hemi equipped model. Then i considered Toyota and they shit canned a great engine in favor of complexity and future shop visit$, chevy was distant 4th. additionally, I looked at the Tacoma but based upon their poor mileage and crappy seats, i luckily found the Tremor model. I wasnt even aware of what the Tremor was at that point.lol

I'd love to see the 6.8L or 7.3L engines as options in the standard Raptor. Similar HP and TQ numbers to the 3.5L EcoBoost HO, but you'll keep the V8 sound and its naturally aspirated.

some one please splain this , given the transmission reports of failure how is it that the technology in the Tremor doenst monitor or report back transmission issues before they get severe?

Probably because not everything in the transmission is or can be electronically monitored by the PCM.

Had a Raptor. A 2011 Hennesey SuperCab. 6.2, 6 speed. It was truly a delight.

FWIW: My 2023 3.5 EcoBoost is just as fast. With the lightening up of the body, the 10 speed and twin turbos, it lacks nothing in a straight line.
The suspension is another story though. Stock for stock, the Raptor wins hands down. On or off road. (y)

Price and I wanted to be able to have decent towing capability. I’ve never driven a Raptor so I don’t know what I’m missing lol.

I relly wanted the 5.0, the Raptor R was overkill for me. There isn't enough Baja type terrain here to justify it.

There are companies out there that will do the body work and essentially convert a regular F-150 into a Raptor clone. That being said, there are things that are absolutely unique to the Raptor that you can never do with any other truck. For example, the rear frame on the Raptor is very different from the standard F-150's including the TREMOR. That's because their suspension is totally different.

I don't know if these companies actually do all the work to change out the rear suspension to something closer to the Raptors.
They do, but it’s so extensive you might as well get a Raptor. https://www.foutzmotorsports.com look up 5 link Raptor conversion it starts near 13k without the shocks added. Arguably, foutz setup is actually better than a Raptor stock setup, but you can also just upgrade a factory Raptor suspension and achieve very similar results with all the built in goodies like dual live valve fox shocks.

Usually when we post things like this it’s Tonge in Cheek. But you put on them pants man!
I've met a lot of people who really do let their wives have all the control. If that's what your into fine. But the way I hear some guys tell it, they are not happy having given up so much control.

I was able to negotiate 11% off of MSRP on my 2023 402A Tremor. At that time dealers were asking $5-10k over MSRP on base Raptors. Now you can easily negotiate $3-5k off of Raptors. I’d rather have a Raptor but it doesn’t fit in my garage and that’s a deal breaker. Too many hail storms in Colorado to keep an expensive truck sitting outside.

Not being able to fit the truck in my garage is the main reason I didn't buy a Super Duty.

I generally have 1k lbs for supplies in my bed once or twice a week for work. Raptor was not built for that.

Was just a joke. My wife never limits what I can do. Raptor doesn’t fit our needs, but the Tremor does. We bought it when we were getting an oil change on my 2020 F150XLT. Never planned on even considering a new truck, but drove the Tremor off the lot instead. Glad I did 👍

This was the same for me, plus when I was buying all I saw was raptors everywhere so I went with a Tremor 5.0
Great Job , had any issues so far with it, I bet you have the same problem I do !! Keeping your foot out of it !!!
