2025 Tremors

I was bummed when I realized the door keypad was only a dealer installed option on my 2025. I've had many Ford vehicles with it over the years and I always thought it was a real differentiator from other OEM's. I mean it would take the Ford maybe $10 to install this at the factory? But $500 from the dealer? OK, there is my pet peeve...

I never used it much before but love being able to leave the key inside and lock from the keypad when going to the gym/beach etc. i leave things a lot and not having to worry about the key is a game changer.

Cost aside, they aren’t even the same unit…the new ones are stick on and require a battery in the unit, which can go out.

I have had my truck (‘24 401a) for 3 months or so now and the app is handy but the integrated keypad on the 2024 and earlier models is basically foolproof.

I had a 23 ranger tremor....bought the keypad for 125...and mounted it on the inside of the fuel door so out of sight...iirc Ipdealer turned it on for 100.00

Apparently 2025s are now shipping with no blank bar above the infotainment? Mine has the giant blank bar . How unfortunate.

Even more puzzling is they retained the Active Park Assist button, when APA hasn't actually been available since early 2022.

Amazing, they found a way to do something even dumber. I ordered a 25 because I couldn't find a 24 equipped the way I wanted. Glad I ordered early. I'm done until Ford pulls their head out. Should I need to replace my truck due to unforeseen circumstances I'll be looking only at the used market going forward.

It sucks that Ford seems to be cutting standard options every year, I’m glad I found a 24 with the keypad and the electric steering column. I came from a 21 Lariat and I do miss the nice headlights I had as well as tow mirrors and electric step bars. I would ve gone to a Platinum or King Ranch for the electric step bars and options but the V8 is not longer a thing so I settled with the Tremor 402a with the 5.0 and I’m pretty happy with it.

Yeah seems to be the 402A isn’t much of a package this days. My sales guy mentioned something about the heads up display units on all trims being delayed and challenging to get. I lucked out with this 24, since the wife is short the pedals and electric column are nice to have with the memory seats

I was wondering why they put the blank bar on one side, and not center the buttons? Actually I'm trying to figure out why they moved the buttons at all, they are all in convenient reach on the 24, and look good too. The new 2 buttons in the pic you posted are pretty ugly compared to the full row in the 24.

I suppose it will be possible to buy the whole bezel as a repair part at some point, and hopefully the existing buttons would just snap into the back of that if it's what you want.

I'm pissed they redid the button bar at all. My '21 150 and my '23 350 both had things up there that I use rather frequently; the camera button on both and the exhaust brake on the 350. I hate the harder to find and reach camera button location down by the radio knob, I know I'm going to turn the sound system on or off by accident reaching for that button and start cursing a blue streak. Hopefully I'm alone whenever that happens. I'm already wondering what I can do with that currently useless space with the fugly filler bar, maybe add a camera button where I wish it was, and some other stuff next to that... Phone mount? extra USB ports? Extra upfitters? Mount point for an engine monitor or data logger or?

I can't even "unlearn" the old location because I'll still have the Super Duty so I'll still keep reaching for that camera button which is where it ought to be in that truck.

I agree with everything you said! My wife has a 24 and we use the camera button all the time, and now I have a 25, and I can't ever hit the camera button when I need it.

The 25 didn't come with the box link cleats, so I used my Ford Points to buy a set of box link cleats, and guess what? The mounts on the 2025 are not box link. WTF? There's no cost savings for Ford, they still put mounts in the bed, just some other mount.

Maybe they delayed the 15th gen trucks by a year to do a feasibility study on selling chassis cabs and making the bed optional on lower trims.

I have owned a new Ford truck every ~year and a half for the last decade. I just bought a 25 401 and am done until they stop this garbage or the truck is dead.
