Hey all,
So I’ve still been having freezing ax issues, very intermittent. Never happens when I’m close to a dealer to have them verify it. No dealers in my area will just do a TSB Software update without the truck actually freezing up. So frustrating.
Anyway, I found this thread on the f150 forum, (
https://www.f150forum.com/f2/2023-ac-problems-545057/index2/?ispreloading=1 ) and check out post #136. Guy took a tube and attached it to the drain port off the firewall. I just did this myself this week and can say that I have NOT had any freezing up issues so far this week. It does now drip on the ground a lot more than before when parked like most vehicles do. I have done a combination of multiple short trips back to back and a longer road trip. While I still got the occasional high to low bursting of volume from the vent, it did remain cold. Temps here have been in the low to mid 90s and mild to medium humidity.
I will continue to test this and see how it works out.
Sure would be crazy if a $6 piece of tube works.
