Aux switch wiring?

The big advantage to using this is the fact you can instantly upgrade the 5 and 10 amp up fitter switches to 20's and a 40. With just one you would end up with 1-40 , 3-20's and 2-15 amp circuits. 15 amp being the largest stock relays left alone. Pretty much plug and play type install anyone can figure out.
Definitely a much cleaner/easier way of achieving bigger amperage vs using individual relays and utilize our factory switches unlike a switch pro setup.

Heh, I'm using both. My switches will power/activate grill 50" and camper 50", camper side and rear 6" (3), rear dust lights (and other markers i think about), winch, air compressor and camper ditch lights.
My switchpros will be all camper stuff. Fans (2), rear cargo lights, third brake lightbrunning light (as a camp light), USB power, water pump, ac, drawer lights and interior lighting

Yeah, I had planned on a single relay in the back and one in the front but since I wired back to my camper with 10awg, I could put this in the engine bay and send power for the lights using the same wires giving me other options.

Now, do you have another purchase that is a small solid state fuse pack for all this?

It’s has built in thermo and short circuit protection. I will probably run a 100 amp resettable breaker in the main run. the cost of solid state fuses is way to high. For that price I could get a Switch-Pro. Switch-Pro let you program the fuse rating on each switch. Switch-Pros are the best, but I kinda think having 6 switch’s doing nothing is lame. I have been looking at changing out the switch‘s to a blank panel. But this relay is cheaper than doing that. Last two vehicles the Switch-Pro leaves with them. I love super clean setups.

Tell me more about this 50" grill light... I've got a 40" Baja designs light bar sitting around and am trying to figure out where to mount it

Unpurchased and undecided, as of now. I'm thinking a position just below the top of the grill. That's the literal last thing I'm doing.

You can get more and even ones for vertical mounting. That would drive me crazy.

yeah, I think they're square so it's all good. I pulled one of the stickers and remembered how bright that backlight is without a sticket covering it. ordered another couple sheets to get that in the done column.
I need to spend some time to decide on lights and other goodies

This is why I did my truck mods in the winter when I have more spare time. Even tho it’s really cold and really dark
 
I'm about to do some wiring to my upfitter switches today and had some questions. Looking at the info in this thread it looks like the A bundle is powered, and B is just a pass through to the cab. Is that passthrough intended to be wired to bundle A if you need a hot line into the cab? If I'm wiring up lights or a winch to the front bumper can I just ignore bundle B?

Correct. Connect the hot bundle legs to the cab bundle legs if you want anything powered inside the cab

Anyone know if there is a dedicated ground location in our engine bay? On my 2012 F150 the negative battery cable ran over to a solid ground point which was intended for use as a jump point instead of putting both cables on the battery. I haven't seen anything like that in the 21/22 models yet. Barring that, do you guys have any preferred ground points around the engine bay? Or do you just go for what ever is closest to what ever you are wiring up?

Super silly question fellas or fella'ettes, didn't get my truck yet but have seen (and saved) the schematics. But just wondering if most or all the upfitter switches are relayed? I'm used to putting my own relays in for everything (for instance on my General with the light bars and fan overides etc...) but I saw a pic of the fuse box and they were showing relays so wondering if the higher current/amperage circuits are relayed from the factory already? Or do I wire in relays after the fact. (sorry if it's a redundant question)

Good question. I may be wrong but as I understand it, the current rating for each switch is that switch's max.
For me, I ran 4 switches to the back and will use the scorpion relay box to power my lights hanging off the camper. One of those switches will activate a relay in the back and one up front and my winch will be activated through a solenoid.

I'm gonna investigate this a bit more (unless someone corrects me with the facts) I mean I guess if the switch is rated for x amount of current you don't necessarily need a relay but I was curious. What I run or maybe what most run won't pull over 20A even but you never know. I'll report back I have to look at that schematic showing the fuse box again! I saw relays in there but I think I only saw 4? so I thought maybe the smaller circuits were run through the switch. Thanks for your response sir!

The 5 amp switchs are not relayed, switches 5 and 6.
