Dash Shuts Off

BoostKing did you ever take your truck in for the dash shutting off? Hopefully my 402a will be here in about a month and was just curious if you heard anymore about the issue and any potential remedies? This is the first thing that I am going to check out at the dealer once it arrives.

I showed them. They have no idea and I didn't want to leave it with them to figure out. I'm monitoring some other threads on fb with the same issue. Doesn't seem like anyone has a solution. I bet it'd a simple software glitch that will get resolved when Ford makes an update. I'm just gonna be patient.

If 22s do it but 21s don't I bet you anything it's a consequence of corner cutting... Sorry I meant efficiency optimization...

"We don't need all these RAM chips in one truck. Cut a couple out and have an intern verify the dash software still works."

"Yeah he said the startup splash screen still happens and he'll check the other stuff when he's done TikTok binging on his 10th fake bathroom break."

Meanwhile the poor forgotten trailer tpms display code is calling for a specific address in memory that no longer exists and throwing a fatal invalid pointer exception.

I have a 2022 Tremor with the 402A package. I can confirm that the screen does reboot when navigating to the "trailer tire info" menu item. I would prefer to have the software bug resolved versus dealership swapping out hardware.

Update: I've had my truck to the dealer three times for the issue. Ford has escalated the issue and has been working with my local service department. Ford is convinced that the problem is the cluster. Apparently there was a change in the 2022 cluster over the 2021.
It took them a while to get the proper cluster. They are programing my actual milage into the new cluster, and it should be delivered soon.
I'll post another update once the cluster is installed.

I made a video yesterday after discovering that my dash would shut off if I tried to view the Trailer Tire Info screen. This also resets the dash, and the My View and gauge orientation. Does this happen to any of you? 402a truck

Video's to see what I am talking about

Yes - my 2022 402A Tremor matches the same scenario that you described. I did not know this would happen until I had read other posts about this issue. I am troubled that this happens, AND all the preset configurations that I had previously programmed are now reset to a "factory default". Very disappointed that the vehicle does this. I hope that Ford can admit to the issue, and provide a solution.

Just confirmed my 2022 402A trailer tow package does it as well. It seems when I go to the trailer menu selecting any of the sub menus causes it to go blank and completely reset. I'll add that to the list of things when I go for first service in July.
I haven't towed yet, but I was gonna try out my buddies new travel trailer this summer. I hope it gets fixed by then.

Thanks Coachdad for the update. Hopefully they can come up with a proper fix. Mine is going back to the dealer on Monday for the same issue.

My ‘22 just started doing this, but for me it has nothing to do with navigating to a specific menu. Every 4 minutes like clockwork the entire dash goes black, then reboots and all settings are cleared. Literally every 4 minutes, even if I’m stationary. If the auto bright lights are on high, they drop to regular, and if blue cruise is on, it switches off. Truck will no longer auto start, via cell app or key fob, just won’t do it. Made an appointment with the service department and a cell phone video of it resetting just to show them.

Anyone ever figure this out?

Tried messing with trailer settings today like you e said causes it and sure enough, my 22 402a does it too. Shuts down and reboots the cluster. Add me to the list
I just noticed that mine does this too. Anxious to hear if anyone has updates that they could share.

When I had my truck in the shop for a couple recalls I told them about the problem. Typically they told me the trailer brake recall would fix it.....right. I picked it up and asked about it, they didn't even check to see what I was talking about, and still shuts off.

I am basically waiting to see if someone here gets it fixed before going back to the dealer here. Unfortunately its the only dealer within 2 hours. I am just avoiding using the towing menu, not a huge deal but it is annoying.

Did the new cluster correct the issue?

I’m sure this is absolutely unrelated, but today it was 58 degrees and the dash never reset. Not once. Usually my morning drive it resets 3-4 times before I get to where I’m headed. Today, nothing. Fortunately I’ve got a video of it resetting, but this is ridiculous.

The dealer has the replacement cluster and my truck is going in to get it replaced on July 18. I'll provide an update when I get it back.
FYI.. The dealer expects to keep the truck for 2 days so they are giving me a loaner.

Picked my truck up Friday. Same issue as noted with the trailer Info sub menus

Update: I dropped the truck off to the dealership on Monday, they replaced the cluster and that didn't solve the problem. They still have my truck and are working with Ford to come up with a solution.
I'll update this thread if they make any progress.

Man that really sucks.
