🏕️ F150 Tremor Camping Forum!

Kudos to all of you with the tiny offroad type campers. I couldn't do it (claustrophobic) but I love the idea of them. If I was out west, I'd probably give it a go though.

Next camper for me will be smallish (under 20ft) since it's just two of us and the pup. I've done the 30ft slideout bunkhouse type, I just don't need that anymore.

Out of curiosity, for those with bigger glampers, what are you using for tow mirrors? I had some slip-on type for my 2015 and those worked great.

This weekends setup. Bed tent plus self inflating mattress is super comfy and doesn't increase my clearance height so I can still get in the garage...

Setup takes about 30 min to fully make camp and about the same to strike camp.View attachment 32555View attachment 32556View attachment 32557View attachment 32558
What tent is this? Seems like a great option for a quick weekend somewhere you can't haul a trailer (and since I'm back to having a truck payment, the TT will have to wait a little while).

Agree with the smaller trailer idea. We have a 25' so we can get in all the national parks (normally 30' max) and the truck tows like a dream. I had the ZapCap or whatever slip on mirrors on my last F150, I don't have any tow mirrors on the Tremor. Been towing for two years with it, between the mirrors that do pretty good and the BLISS that covers the trailer, I don't have any need for them so far, love it!

Having been involved in an accident because someone else did not have tow mirrors, I won't tow a TT without them. And having towed with a cheap WDH and a decent one, I won't tow a TT without a decent one again either (even though everything I'm looking at is light enough, the added sway control is worth it to me, I'll just go with the lightest bars possible).

I put OEM tow mirrors on my truck. Unsure how the newer ones fair with existing harnesses and such but for my 22 402 it was 98% plug and play (minor forscan changes for the power extend to work) and you'll need to re-calibrate the cameras. The full power sets expensive (and add another ~$40 for caps cause they only come in chrome) but all of its less of an issue if you dont already have power fold and all that jazz.

Just ditched the cheap Husky WDH for an Anderson. I never had any issues with the Husky but did experience a few white knuckle moments when going downhill. I have nothing to compare it to so I really hope the Anderson is a better system. I love the light weight, simple and geese free design of this hitch. We take it on the road for the first time tomorrow morning, headed a few hundred miles up the road to the eastern Sierra, I have high hopes!

Went to Colorado again for some camping and off roading. Stayed in the Twin Lakes area and wheeled in the Leadville area. Really awesome trip! loved the Twin Lakes area - mountains and lakes are an awesome combo. Got some paddle boarding in too. unfortunately, the Micro Minnie flattened out the rear springs. I don't think my husband and I realized how much weight we had in the bed and on the hitch. Going to get new factory springs and either air bags or RAS.View attachment 22466View attachment 22467View attachment 22468View attachment 22469View attachment 22471View attachment 22481
Great looking trip!

Which Rack do you have installed on the Bed of the truck?

I'll have to look into those when we end up getting a TT. Plan is for a Centerline TS (had one previously and it towed great) but I always like to check my options again...

holy shit the bed step makes so much more sense now!

which bed tent?

Wanted to share my little setup for hunting season. I bought this AirBedz Pittman Outdoors back-seat mattress and paired it with a custom fit mattress topper, followed by my sleeping bag.

It’s very comfortable, if you lay on the diagonal and leave the mattress 75% inflated you don’t slouch to one side or the other. It’s perfect for someone who’s 6ft or below.

It gets really cold at night in the Sisikou Wilderness during the mid-late fall, we get light snow and a lot of rain so being inside my truck is nice.

I also have custom fit Window covers made from Reflectix attic Insulator that are lined with automotive carpet. Keeps it warm and keeps the condensation down.

This is way more efficient than a rooftop tent (and a lot cheaper).

Had a Lone Peak camper on order since January and was finally ready to be installed last week. Took it out for its maiden voyage shortly after and I'm so glad I got it. So much more comfortable than my ground tent and the RTT that I had prior. Woke up and wasn't sore at all, plenty of truck bed space for all my gear and still room for a dog bed for my 2 dogs to sleep comfortably.

Newest option for minimalist

We saw this as attached to a very rugged steel-framed trailer option down at Overland Expo West a few weeks ago and talked for a bit with the owner. One could move the box between trailer frame and the bed of a truck or anything in-between using strong tie-downs. Freedom had some other options and accessories that could go with it and suggestions for how to cut ports into the box if necessary for external functions (heat, water, etc). Otherwise it's a rather strong and simple box with a Line-X type finish that looks like would stand up to a lot of abuse. Two could sleep in it in tight side-by-side or perhaps in a bunk configuration. Interesting and simple approach.
