Fender Flares

Honestly, that'll be huge weight savings. My 120# wheels are fantastic for traction but add that weight and my trailer and it starts eating at my max payload.
Don't overlook the tire size of 285/75/r18. They are available in quite a few of the popular tires (Toyos, Cooper, Nitto's, Goodyear, etc) and most are in the 34.8" diameter range but with a narrower 11.5" width. They are a taller, skinnier tire. So you get the benefit of additional ground clearance (and the look of a larger overall diameter) but with a narrower tread width - albeit wider than stock - which should result in lower rolling resistance than wider tires. Also, decreased weight. I'm looking at the Cooper AT3 XLT's in this size. They show 34.84" in diameter, 11.5" in width, 60lbs, load range E. Oh, and because of the narrower width, they are approved for 7.5" rims. Just throwing that out there.

Okay fellow Tremorers, I need your opinion. I’m not gonna paint to match I just want to get opinions as to yay or nay on the look.

Lemme know, thanks!

Thank goodness, I would hate to see you disgrace that color with black fenders. We need front "poke" shots.
Yeah like I dont like the black fenders at all, but I get them on a white truck. On that lead foot though, God please don't disgrace it... bless it with more lead foot color. Still triggered they got rid of it.

My rare greatly endangered money conscious side somehow had this ridiculous idea of saving money but thankfully was quickly overcome by my drunken sailor frivolous spending side :devilish:

Even if you wanted them black you should paint them. They never look right and get weird looking scratches. With the price of gas, just park it for a week and use that money for the body shop.

I love them. Even not painted. As a former Gen 2 and Gen 3 raptor owner I think I'm going to put them on my 22 Atlas Blue Tremor, as is. Paint matching reminds me of guys who paint match the Raptor fender flares and bumpers - instantly makes a raptor into mall crawler starbucks crawler imo. The point of the matte black plastic cladding is to protect the body from scratches and brush striping and so forth. Having it paint matched turns it into a mall crawer imo, might as well put 20" wheels on it while you're at it. It's an off-road truck not a show piece, maybe just buy lariat if you're going to just make a good clean matched truck. Just a contrasting opinion food for thought. I would never think to color match them on my Gen 3, but to each their own, some reference pics attached.

How scratched up is your Gen2?

Whole different styling world for a Raptor though. Matte black is that truck's accent color already so they work with the already existing styling cues.

I give it about a week before you pull them off your Tremor and slather on the smurf puke.

Yep, getting quote tomorrow.
I got a body shop near me to paint mine, cost was $400. They are flawless, they did an excellent job. Color match is spot on.
A friend of mine has the raw (not painted ) on his 2019 F150 (white) and the black is so dull. He has tried to use several type of vinyl restorer solutions but they keep fading back to that chalky look.

I was in the dealership this week and saw this? Kinda interesting.
There is a guy on here @LDS who is running those flares and they look good with what he did.

I am getting the door molding just for kicks to mock up and see how it looks (useful for me since I have kids) and will post when I get it mocked.

I just got the quote, said $500 to paint, $300 to install. They acted like they had never seen a fender before. I am not feeling real confident about their abilities and he said he won’t be very sturdy and could come off easily if I went thru a regular car wash ( not that I plan on doing that ) but I’m definitely not going to use that shop.

MotoJo….. yours are the Bushwacker extend a flares, right?
I can’t remember if your in NC, if so I think I would drive to your shop if it’s up to 2 hours away.
You said $400 for paint, what was total costs with install?

Thanks!
