Fender Flares

Well, I got an email saying the Xenon flares were being delayed for an unknown amount of time (and that's on top of their 12 week turn around time to begin with). So, I canceled that order and instantly ordered the air design flares. Once I get them in I will either powder coat or Cerakote the bolts and let everyone see how it looks. I will mock them up though so we can see how they look with the rocker panels as well.
You da man.
Today I received the air design rear spoiler, I received the rocker panels on Saturday , probably buy the air design hood this week then fenders shortly after, then get all 4 items painted in a leadfoot stealth if that’s possible. Have lead foot stealth accents on hood scoop, lower front bumper stealth PPF, fenders, rock panels, and rear spoiler the stealth lead foot paint. I think that would look bad ass plus probably good for st least another 50hp due to hood scoop looks and aero dynamics 👍

Order the cab spoiler too so I can see if it looks good before I get it 😃

That sounds sick. Eager to see it come together. I really love the lead foot color and some accents on it sound like it would make it even better.

My flares shipped today so if I'm really lucky this weekend I can mock them up at least. I don't want to actually install them without the bolts as they are actually useful in this case, but there are several shops near me so hopefully the turn around there is short....though I'm not sure if I want them orange or just black.

The only thing that is weird for me is that I haven't settled on wheels yet (looking for 17s but stock seems low). So having the flares on without need of them is...less than ideal for me lol. I debated getting spacers in the time being just to look the part but have never used them.

I really like my faction fab 1.5 spacers from stage 3 motorsports. My truck rides great and looks greater.

Did you have to trim the studs or have any other issues with them and the stock suspension?
None that I’m aware if. The install was done by a shop and took them 30 minutes and they only charged me $53 w tax so I don’t believe they trimmed any studs.

Yes must likely I am painting. I’m not sure if I’m keeping the bushwhacker extend a flares. They had surface scratches all over and 2 had nicks in them. I’m also not crazy about how they install.

The air design fenders have a really solid installation what @LDS installed.
These RC fenders just dropped in the last day and I do like this design as well.

Decisions, decisions…

I was thinking about these.
Either paint them lead foot and add the wrap then paint/wrap the inserts to match my top color or vice versa. It may be time to get back to photoshop

Ok, so here these are installed without the rockers. I will post again with the rocker panels actually installed as well. Just figured someone might want to see these by themselves.

As a side note, they do scratch VERY easily. I'm not a person who cares about that as that is their purpose, but just an FYI.

Alright, here it is after the rockers too. I had a productive weekend so far, putting on the bed cover, rockers, flares, and the F150lights vent lights. Love it so far though!

I will be getting the bolts coated soon. Just wanted to get them on and then take them to be coated later.

Looking real hood, the bolts as are blend in pretty good with a white truck.

How was install?

Personally only like the flares, and would color match, but if you love it that way, that's what matters. Still looks beast. Congrats on the productive weekend.

Install was lengthy but super easy. I also take a lot of extra time to make sure everything is lined up the way it should be. Honestly, I would have been mad at myself if I paid for installation looking back; hindsight is 20/20 though.

The bolts don't bother me as much as I thought either...we will see.

We will see how it looks when/if I change the bumpers, which I really want to do. For now, I think the rockers are needed to blend the randomness of the fenders. I usually feel like black flares are out of place....this makes it better imo.

Where did you order the fenders from and price paid? You got them pretty quick if my memory is correct.

Yeah super quick actually, I think 3 days or so. I paid $689 shipped I believe from Americantrucks.com. That being said, if you haven't ordered from Ford accessories using the coupon (I have or I would have purchased these there) they have a 15% coupon which would make them cheaper.

Great, thanks.

Also worth noting, I have absolutely no effect to my 360° camera after these flares.
That’s great to hear!

I finally mocked up my rocker panels. I like the look but from seeing painted on other leadfoots that’s the route I’m going.

I bought all builtright bed molle panels last week, probably buy the hood scoop this week then I’ll just need to select a fender flare and I’ll get all four pieces painted together then install everything myself. If I like your anodized bolt concept I’ll probably go with the same fenders.

I definitely think paint is the right call for your color. It's easier for light colors because normally we would be adding black for contrast anyway. Lead foot is such a good/interesting color its better kept as is imo; it doesn't need contrast, especially with the small pops of orange.
