Ford Performance Tune

Interesting, I wonder if this is available in Canada. I'm looking at an extended warranty now. I'm concerned with the Torsen front diff and rear axel they both make alot of noise and I'm only at 24k kms 8 months old. The service tech said the rear axles all make that noise it's annoying. The front diff every once and a while make a noise when I back up almost like it's disengaging.

I think you should find another dealer or tech.

That pic of a curve is for the Raptor. So odd. And the part number is different from what they told me. M-6017-f35

If you look at the curves for the generic 3.5 and the “HO” both with tunes they look almost exactly the same. This was a screenshot from a video so it’s not the most reliable source of part numbers.

mine is in shop now for rear axle bearings and seals 30K miles

It reduces your factor warranty and disqualifies your extended warranty for drivetrain. 5/60 is now just 3/36.
If that's the case, then the cynic in me wonders if Ford ran the numbers for the last few years of their warranty costs and decided this tune could be a money saving idea in the long run if there's enough of the most likely demographic to get the tune. Shortening the drivetrain warranty by 24k miles on tens of thousands of F150's would likely save them a lot of money. The tune probably doesn't cost them much of anything (just guessing).

But that's probably just my inner conspiracy theorizing data nerd coming out.

Just put the new map into the truck today, quite a noticeable difference in power. Truck is a lot more peppy and responsive. See how the transmission shifting is now going forward. Still have my JB4 and pedal commander on as well.
torque bump down low sounds great but transmission changes are even more interesting. Looking forward to hear about it.

you or the dealer?

Ford performance dealer told me it doesn't void any warranty, factory or extended, from Ford. Couldn't attest to 3rd party.

Some will argue a federal law requires the manufacturer to prove the damage was rate to the “after market part”. But in the real world, the manufacturer can presume the change caused the issue and then the owner had to prove otherwise.

Also, ford seems its performance parts as “after market”.

The above aside, some dealers will not report after market modifications. However, Ford is smart bc with this tune, it has proof you added an after market modification and may automatically reduce your warranty. Guess we will see how this plays out.

Last thought, I’m sure Ford has tested the tune and it’s conservative. Do the likelihood one would have an issue should be very low.
Where are you getting that it voids 5/60 if Ford and an authorized Red Team tech installs it?

From reading the warranty language. The tuner is considered an aftermarket part. The language essentially states any issues caused from tune aren’t covered , except for this special warranty provision they add back.

Granger rep has also confirmed in another thread on this forum that this is the case.

Canceling. So in my case I'd be good for 2 years and 3 months. After that I'd be sol on the factory 5/6 power train. Not worth it.
