Ford Performance Tune

I got it installed today. I haven't got to really put it through it's paces but what I've noticed:
- Big improvement in low end torque. Didn't get the chance to try out the top end.
- Cleaner shifting - the transmission is more proactive now. When you let off the throttle it starts downshifting. Before it always felt like it was behind.
- No clunky downshifts, though time will tell.

I'll get some more miles on in the next few days but as of right now I'm happy with it. Probably how these trucks should be shipped out TBH.

I have 3600 miles. Tranny shifts pretty good already for me. Occasional hiccup from like 5 to 3. But not often.

Cool beans man. Notice any hits in mileage.
 
My shifting was getting a lot better too (9000kms) but the tune still helped. Too early to say on the mileage. I have some highway miles on Friday so I'll know better then. I've read some folks with FP tunes on Broncos and Explorers say they get a 1-2mpg improvement with the tune. I'd imagine that's more to do with the premium fuel but who knows.
 
Just had it done. So far so good. 2 hour drive back.

Yeah. Guess they use it to download, register the product and flash with. And guess I can plug it up and look at stuff. Comes with a suction cup to mount if you want. That's what they gave me after it was done. I paid and left. Lol. Didn't ask alot about what I can do with it.
 
What does the dealership charge to flash it and keep the warranty intact?
 
I had a nearby independent shop that's a Ford Performance dealer quote me $80.
 
I did it myself,it’s super easy to do. Not gaining anything by having your dealership install it.

Functionally, no.

You are 'checking a box' to meet the contract requirements for the additional Ford Performance warranty.
 
Is there any damage done if you can't put premium fuel in occasionally?

So far it's really good. I putt around in eco alot and certainly notice bottom end. Normal mode, it's pretty instant as well. All around it feels like less pedal and more effect. Shifting feels great. And now I can hear the turbos.
