Ford Performance Tune

Got mine from Pauls automotive engineering’s. $624.99, with shipping included. Package got lost and they helped me track it down and stick with me until delivered. Very good customer service.

They were my first choice, but I missed the free shipping and also couldn't get down there anytime soon for the (very reasonable) install. Good to hear they lived up to their reputation.

For me, noticeable enough thst I don't need to be in sport mode. Normal gives me a similar feel.

The hp/reel curve is much more usable. Comes on earlier in rpm range. And doesn't fall off as fast. Plus the tranny feels great.
Nice... That alone makes me want to get it. Drives me crazy how aggressive they got with downshifts and low RPM on this 10sp. While I don't need truck to stay quite so high RPM after letting go of throttle in Sport Mode, have always wished hp/reel was a tad more forward in each gear, and a tad slower to drop off and downshift as I move through gears in Normal. Basically, give me a Sport leaning Normal/hybrid, and one that I don't need to confirm again every time I get in truck.

I would for sure but looks like the 2024 Is SOL on this. Ford is kinda going to be forced to do something with there 3.5 eco in responses to Ram’s new high power V6. I was always a bit disappointed that ford did not offer the HO 3.5l ECO for the tremor but then again if it was up to me the Raptor R power plant would have been a option for the tremor as well. Call my crazy but give the customer options. I Love my Tremor as is and I always remind myself that it’s a full size pickup truck and really would more power really add that much value to my driving experience? It this tune does not voild warranty on my truck that cost more than my house and I can gain a fair amount of pony’s and torque for around say 1500 bucks all in then I would bite
They exist…

Installed the tune today. For background, I had a Jb4 on the truck running tune 3 at 93 octane. Recorded boost around 21-22 psi with the jb4.

The ford tune is noticeably better. It has more power immediately and the mid range is better as well. Also shifts down faster and the shifting is smoother. It’s noticeably more powerful throughout the rev range.

Conclusion-Jb4 is good, ford tune much better.

This makes me happy as someone running a JB4 currently with the FP tune in the mail

Appreciate the feedback

Does the programmer allow you to make other modifications? Specifically, I would like to disable the double honk and the stop/start feature.

I am running the same tune/fuel in my truck.
As a very satisfied JB4 owner, any reason why we can't run the tuner and the JB4?

You could. However I’d think the risk could be significant unless you could customize the Jb4 ton properly compliment the tune. Many warned me against stacking them due to risk.

Curious if anyone has installed the fpp tune themselves? Can you save stock tune? Is it complicated or a step by step wizard? I want to purchase mine soon but the first (and only) dealer I called wanted to charge a minimum of $500 to install depending on time, which seems high to me.

The instructions prompt you to save and upload the stock tune to FPP before it downloads the actual FPP calibration to the ProCal; both stock and the FPP tune are saved in the ProCal. I don't have a link handy but you can read through the instructions on the FPP product page, it's as simple as it seems.

$500 is insane. I have an appointment for 1hr at $190 at my local dealer. I've already registered and downloaded the tune to the ProCal, so it's just plugging in the OBD and hitting a few buttons for them.

$190 seems reasonable enough accounting for an hour and a half if that. $500 was crazy. Especially seeing how easy other tuners are. I might call around a bit more just in case. Thanks!

I got the FP tune ($750) and install ($150) from my local dealer. I’ve had it a month and pleasantly surprised the mpg hasn’t really gone down; hard to tell actually with winter gas. The transmission tune made a noticeable difference in how well and smoothly it shifts now; not that it was misbehaving before.

did the calibration yesterday myself. was failry straight forward. You register at ford performance, download the software to pc, connect pc to the tuner which gets flashed, then you connect the tuner to the truck, it pulls the VIN and current calibration to the tuner. then connect back to the pc, it uploads that to FPP and also downloads the performance calibration, Then connect back to the truck with tuner and apply it.

Overall its noticeable, nothing drastic but does feel like 1/2 way between normal and sport mode. I haven't tried sport mode yet.

Ordered this last night from these guys, they were the best price I found even with $20 shipping. Got the notification this morning that my order is shipping and a label has been created. Will do the install myself when it comes in.
