Halolifts Coilover - Group Buy Info in First Post!

I've got ridge grapplers that measure at about 34.75 on 20x9 +0 rims with a 2.5 autospring tremor level. I had to trim the crash bars, remove the plastic fender guards on the back bottom side, hammer up that little tab that it mounts to and trim some of the cloth liner. Currently i have no rubbing if I'm on flat ground turning at full lock either way. However if I hit a bump or turn while breaking i get rubbing on the corners of the front bumper and the inside bottom edge of the back side of the fender. With this set up it looks like I either need to trim or replace the bumper and get some UCAs that will let me adjust the wheels forward a bit to clear. If I go that far though, I'm curious if it would be feasible to jump up to 37s?

You have given me hope that if I get these halo coilovers I can still make it work if I end up with some rubbing.

The rubbing isn't awful but I would push too hard off-road with it right now. But that's just my set up. A +18 or stock rims may not have any rubbing.

When I talked to Kevin he said he would recommend and aftermarket UCA if you were lifting high enough to fit 35's. Not sure if they make their own but they do sell SPC UCA's. If I'm buying a pair of UCA's these are the ones I'm buying after watching the video @Yeti posted in the Suspension section.

I've got the procomp 2.5" and barely clear 35" KO2's at the crash bar. The actual size of those are 34.5". My wheels are a +20 so that probably doesn't help.

When talking to the guy at Halolifts, he mentioned that their test Tremor had 35" Ridge Grapplers which I think are 34.75". He did say that there was rubbing with the coil overs maxed at 3" of lift. Apparently they were able to trim the crash bar a little to make it work. Not sure of his wheel specs.

I would actually prefer less lift but still keep the tire size. 2" would be ideal for me which I think would be 3" on these coilovers.

This takes me back to the SPC UCA's. They have some cool adjustment options that actually let the wheel/tire be moved forward/backward in the wheel well during alignment. I wonder if anyone has messed with this on a F150 yet?
K02s are fatties, though.

I'm interested in this kit too. I know Elka is a big name in the Toyota world and they make some quality parts.

Their rear shocks match up pretty well for our trucks too from what it looks like.

Definitely interested but not sold yet, does anyone have any experience with the ride quality?

@ChsTremor Did you contact give a timeline for this group buy? I have a set of Autosprings in my garage ready for install in the next week or so, but if this GB is going to happen soon I will hold off. I would like to see a ride report, even on a non-tremor.

EDIT: added "ride report"

Those are just a couple, can't really find any video reviews for the 21+models yet, if you look up toytech it's the same units just for the tundra and Tacoma.

Same shocks as Toytech? Those are decent.

Yes, the company started off as F150 lifts, they then changed the name to halo lifts so they could produce for other companies, on the Toyota side they changed their name to toytech. They have a larger following on the Toyota side.

Im intrested in group by if they are a good match for travel. Maybe I missed it but did we get the measurements yet?

I reached out to them today but the guy is a fireman apparently and is on duty til Thursday. I guess this is a side gig? Through research it seems that the guy that used to run F150lifts.com was named Alex. The guy I talked to was Kevin. Not sure if Alex is still involved or what Kevin's position is. FWIW the phone number on their website goes to Kevin's phone.

The last group buy that they did was for 15 people. We are over 10 now I think and this thread is only a few days old. I'll let you know when I talk to him but I think we could get to 15 pretty quickly by posting on the Tremor FB page. What really sucks is they just had a month long sale of 10% off that ended yesterday.
I'm ready to make the jump as well so I'll keep you all in the loop.

I read several older threads from people that installed the older version of their coilovers on F150's. Most all reported stock or better than stock ride quality with one outlier stating it was harsh but they liked it.

I should mention that in my conversation with Kevin he stated that these will work with Tremors and they have installed and tested on a Tremor taking measurements along the way. These are not Tremor specific coilovers though. These will work on regular F150's as well as our trucks. Don't want anyone to be misled here.

To add to what he said above, I would guess they have done the same thing RC did, which is take an existing shock and ensure it works.

On another note back when it was F150 lifts they used Eibach springs and Bilstein shocks, they either due to better product, pricing, or supply switched to using Elka produced parts.

They are completely rebuildable, and I think if you order from them and decide the spring is rated too heavy for your liking, you can request a lighter spring weight. However if you're increasing tire size etc, the heavier weighted spring would help, along with adding a winch you would definitely need a heavier spring than comes with most others. So these should be superior than most, I just wished they were adjustable for rebound/damping.

I want to say Elka has adjustable cans available

They are a bit short in the back. I'll need to double check the front.

*** compared to OE extended length

Sorry, pretty late to the party but I’ll add to it that Halo lifts are pretty good. Had them for 2 years and have had zero complaints. I think I’m at 2.5” in the front but was told to not go above that as it would mess up CV angles. I also have BDS UCAs but have heard nothing but good from the SPCs. It’s been a while but if I recall I have 295/60R 20s to give you an idea of the lift. I have also had good interaction with Kevin and he even told me that these would fit the Tremor so they will be going on the new truck (build date August 15). Pretty straight forward add ons.
