Halolifts Coilover - Group Buy Info in First Post!

How much lift can one expect from these when compared to the autospring 2.5 level kit?

Need a little help deciding between this Halolift option and an Eibach front, Bilstein rear option. This assumes the Halolift rear shock is close to stock in compressed and extended lengths, haven't seen these numbers yet. I don't believe I need the rear blocks from Halolift, please correct me if I'm wrong, if I went that route.

Front
Eibach shock E60-35-037-08-10
Eibach spring E30-35-037-01-20

Rear
Bilstein 5160 (25-261400)

Would still go with the SPC control arms and caster/camber kit if I went with the Eibach/Bilstein combo.

What are the pros and cons of the Eibach/Bilstein setup vs. the Halolift? If my math was correct the Halolift option is about $370 more expensive. Aluminum vs. steel shock bodies? ......

Appreciate the feedback!

I'm assuming that Halolifts uses the Elka rear shocks. Specs from the Elka website
Extended Length29.72 in.
Compressed Length18.94 in.
Stroke10.79 in.

Thanks @metallikatz3!

OK, so stock rears are 30.5" extended and 18.1" compressed.
Bilstein 5160 are 29.44" extended and 17.52" compressed.
Fox 98224828 are 31" extended and 18.95" compressed. Throwing these in because @Captain built a 3/4" spacer for his rear bump stop when going with the Fox. Looks like we'd need to do the same for the Halolift/Elka shock.

Came across these through a FB post. I know we've beat the coilover discussion to death but I did a quick search and couldn't find where Halolift was discussed.

Follow the link and at the top of the description it says "Yes this will fit your Tremor".

Thoughts? Has anyone use this brand before?

I think @Larry Clark used the coilovers with Icon UCA's on his build. EDIT: He did not. It was another user that someone mentions later in this thread.

EDIT to add group buy interested parties:

So will those rears limit up-travel or would you hit the bump stops first?

Thanks for getting this information @apachedriver64

Looks like these rear shocks only have 8.5" of travel. I believe you're going to need about a 4" spacer in the bump stop to keep from hitting the shock limit first. Please double check my math.

Concur - it looks like something is a little off here. Comparing to some other shocks from @Charky 's post from earlier:

Stock rears are 30.5" extended and 18.1" compressed = 12.4" of travel
Bilstein 5160 are 29.44" extended and 17.52" compressed = 11.9" of travel
Fox 98224828 are 31" extended and 18.95" compressed = 12.1" of travel
Elka (from website) 29.72" extended and 18.74" compressed = 10.98" of travel

It seems odd that the Halolift rears would be 30.5" extended (same as stock!), yet only 22" compressed = only 8.5" of travel.

Assuming our stock 18.1" compressed length is precisely what we need (which it's probably not exactly correct), this would mean a difference in compressed lengths and also a bump stop length of 3.9"!!!

Maybe the 22" was a typo?

I also noticed this on the Halolifts website for this product:

I need to measure my factory rear block...or one of you that know can post it here before I get out there!

Yeah that compressed length is way too long, would limit upward flex and yes you would need a 4" bump stop over our current bump stop. I would ask for a double check on the compressed length and ask if they could maybe change that up for the Tremor if that is indeed the true length. You would be causing shock failure a lot without modifying the bump stops if those are the correct numbers.

I asked Kevin to double check and he measured them at 22” fully compressed. Not to familiar with travel and compression so I’m probably not the best guy to speak intelligently on the topic.

Can you tell him our current stock shocks are 17.8" compressed and find out if that would be feasible for them to do with their current extended length?

Got the same message.

I asked if Kevin would be interested in joining the forum to answer questions here. I think he may be doing that tomorrow.

@modified - do you want to start a group buy thread for this in the deals section? It could fill in for the Aug group buy.

Yeah, that’d for sure be the easiest. I did just ask him about the rear shock compression. If he just hoped on the thread it would probably benefit both parties!

If the rear shocks are an issue I may just use our group discount for the front coil overs and UCAs.

The latter is my plan. Just installed the bilstein rears the other week.

Thanks for everything!

Three questions;

1. Will this group discount be available in the future as many of us are still awaiting production?

2. Can you compare the specs of your shocks extended, compressed, travel.as relates to stock?

3. Do you have plans to further expand on your suspension lineup for the Tremor?

Thanks in advance!

Hello there!

1. We can differently work something out for future orders.
2. That information has already been posted in this chat.
3. All of our products work on the Tremors.
