Honest Eibach Review Needed

Received an email from Shocks Surplus today and I got a little nugget of info concerning the upcoming Eibach 3R kit that might be of interest to the group..

Shock Surplus-
"Eibach supposedly is releasing the Stage 3R kits at the end of this week despite us still having some complaints about their tuning. We have not heard any hard confirmations on whether they have actually fixed anything, so we are hesitant to make recommendations. They will be comparable in price and performance to buying a set of 6112s in the front and 8100s in the back, but that is about $600-800 more than an assembled set of 6112s with 5160 rear shocks so they might be a good bit more pricey than most people expect. I do not want to necessarily count the Eibachs out, but I would really like to see if they have actually fixed what we think they absolutely needed to fix before I give the old seal of approval.

We appreciate your support of our small American business. Let us know if there’s anything else we can help with along the way.

It may be a few more days until another option is avaliable. It will be interesting to see the upcoming review videos
Thanks for sharing. I'm also waiting for the 3R's to come out before deciding on Bilsteins or Eibach.

It’s doubtful that the fronts will be on the same level as the Bilstein 8112’s and definitely not the 8112’S DSA’s but they should be equivalent to the 6112’s.
I wonder if they’ll have the same warranty as other Eibachs. More than likely it’ll be 2 years.

Agreed, I think it will come down to who wants a progressive vs digressive, ie, are you crawling / daily on the street and want the top plushness, or towing / hauling ass in the baja and want plushness in the middle. Either way I'm excited to see a few reviews in the coming weeks and make a decision. You can't go wrong with the bilstein setup though, that much I know for sure. Tried and true.

Damn! I had high hopes for them! Maybe the bilstien 8112s are the answer? I ran 6112’s on a previous F-150 and the were a bit stiff for my liking.

Can’t wait to see some reviews of the Stage 3 once these are released.

Just dropped on the Shock Surplus site. 3 hours ago!!

Just got a pretty negative review of the 2.5”s. -edit, this is about the on road ride-

“If you have any experience with cheap performance car coilovers where your man boobs are just jiggling nonstop, that is what they are like.”

Pretty disappointing. Back to the drawing board, open to suggestions! Looking for a good on road ride and improved off road/fire road capability. Focus on on road… she’s a princess that works occasionally 😂

Shock Surplus said in so many words the same thing. That Eibach did not listen to the recommendations they suggested, and they suspect Eibach will be making some changes and relaunching them, but that's just their thoughts, no timeline or real hard data to say that's what will happen. Eibach is usually known for the plush top end, being better for daily driving and crawling. But it seems the valving they chose on the 3R's (known as 2.5"s) were the opposite, stiff top and plush mid. I wouldn't write them off to anyone who can wait a few more weeks.

I pulled the trigger on the adjustable KINGS remote resi setup today. At the end of the day, if I'm going to pay $ 2,500 for the 2.5's from Eibach, I may as well spend the money on Kings and have them rebuildable for life. I'll sset upa build post later tonight. Kings, MR703's, R/T Pro's in 35x12.5. I took so much belly armor damage from my last run Saturday with the stock truck, I may as well get a custom license plate "OTTER".

I might hold out for a few weeks and see what happens but kings/8112’s might be on my future. Not that I actually need them but 🤷🏼‍♂️!

Considering putting Eibach E86-35-035-02-22 on my 2025. Anyone have any recent installation prices on this kit? Trying to plan for what I might be up against.

You'll get quoted 4 hours labor on the low end +alignment cost. With labor prices here just under $200, my estimates were right around $800+200 for alignment.

I installed the kit in my garage and it barely took 3 hours of actual wrenching time, so 4 hours is reasonable for a competent shop.

My local shop (DFW area) would quote at least 4 hours but they only charge $140/hr. then an alignment elsewhere would be $149-$175

I had the same exact kit installed on mine about a month ago at Eibach. I'm very happy with the results over the stock set up. Immediately remedied the rear end jumping around over bumps. Raised the front end 2 1/4". Still have 1 1/2" rake which is fine with me on an empty bed. I think you will be happy with your decision.
I have the exact same truck and plan on getting the eibach pro truck 2R as well. As for tires, I plan on going with either the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss or Toyo Open Country RT in 295/70/18 on stock wheels.

I’m rather confused by some guys claiming 2.5” front end lift with the Eibach stage 2 kits when most claim to get barely over an inch of lift, and even Eibach themselves claim only 1.3” of lift. I assume everyone here is talking about a Tremor. In which case, given the 1” factory lift that comes stock, it makes sense that this Eibach kit (which is the same for all F150 trims and not Tremor specific) only lifts another 1-1.5” on a Tremor.

So what is it? Are you guys with 2”+ results cranking the coils up to max, or something over the factory preloading setting?

They come from Eibach with the spring height maxed out. It yields about 2"-2.5" over stock Tremor height.

I found they rode better if you back them off 3-5 turns.

I wonder if this has been changed from when you purchased your kit. Ask Eibach now and they will tell you to expect about 1.3” over stock Tremor height. I did just that last week. And there are a multitude of recent reports here only claiming 1-1.5” of lift using the same kit.

It’s all rather confusing.

Mine got me 2” on the dot as they came. Bought and installed a little over a year ago. Truck still has 1.75-2” of rake. I suspect variations in the factory setups help explain some of the different reports. Mine had 3.75-4” of rake WITH my diamondback HD installed and some random tools and such in the bed. I feel like I haven’t seen as aggressive of rake numbers from the 24s on. Maybe the front is higher, maybe the rear is lower.

I thought I read somewhere that the 3.5 was heavier than the 5.0. I wound up with 1.5" on my 3.5 which is exactly what I wanted.
