Honest Eibach Review Needed

Last week we headed to Death Valley for a few days. It's 450 miles each way. We had about 600lbs total in the bed (camper shell, bed slide, two coolers, 10 gallons of water, tools, etc). We also had 2 adults and probably another 80lbs in the cab.

The truck rode wonderfully on the highway. We also took it on some dirt roads and it road really well and never got out of shape at 30-35mph. I would have gone faster but SWMBO wasn't as keen to go blasting down dirt roads in the middle of nowhere as I was. ;)

(y)(y) from this guy.

Shock Surplus released a quick youtube short on the 3R... Hopeful they are closer to releasing the full review....

I talked to my local 4x4 shop today and they say the 2R’s add over 2 inches on the tremors. I’m not sure I believe them. He did say they are doing one on Monday. I’ll see if he can send me some pictures.

They're wrong. Period

he also told me he was "100% positive" that they make a tremor specific coil-over. So yeah he is wrong. I will wait for the pictures of their install on Monday however.

While there are definitely "pros" out there, many are just dudes reading off data sheets and taking their best guess and presenting it as fact.

Please share their results with us.

With how many Tremors we got running around with this kit. The lift height over stock tremor height should be well established. But yet there certainly seems to be a fair bit of discrepancy.
Ideally I want close to 2” of front lift. Will this kit work or not?

Well, it’s easy to see how he got confused. One does say for Tremor. But it’s the same part number for a non Tremor.

No. You will get 1 inch of lift. It is well established.

You got 1”, I got 2” on the dot on my 23. So yes there is discrepancy. I also believe the majority of users on this board were able to get more than 1” if they so chose. Whether that is Ford changes over the model years or Eibach changes is the question. It is generally assumed that Ford hasn’t made noticeable changes as i believe part numbers are the same, so that points more towards Eibach variation. But you also never know, maybe actual spring rate on OEM springs has more variance from nominal than expected from batch to batch or supplier to supplier.

Eibach says 1.3” on stage 2 kits. What I want to know is do the 2” shocks provide ample travel for full range on a Tremor? Especially in the rear.

I didn't get a pre measurement, but I'm about 2" rake with 3-5 turns taken out from factory full extension. Pretty sure I was somewhere around 4" rake before.

2" sounds a bit extreme thinking about it so I'm questioning things now, lol.

I think this is also part of the confusion. It sounds like Eibach used to ship these kits with the coils maxed out. Some apparently complained about a harsher ride. So now they don’t come at full extension anymore and instead have a few twists taken out. At least that’s my understanding.

A couple of days ago I pulled the trigger on the Eibach Stage 2R E86-35-035-02-22 kit for my 24 Tremor. Been doing a lot of reading and this seems to be what I am after to eliminate the rake and help the suspension somewhat but now I have concerns. I wanted to go Fox but they don't have anything that will work with the Tremors and I am totally against spacer levels so that is not an option. I am overall very happy with the way the truck rides for the most part however I do feel as if it takes potholes a little hard and the back end likes to wash out on the forest roads here. I'm pretty sure that the Eibachs will help with both but I don't want to give up all the cushiness of the truck. So with that being said how much of the cush am I going to lose?
The Eibach weren’t designed for Tremors either… they literally just took the same coil overs they designed for standard F150s and installed it on a tremor.
They determined that they “work” but the end result is you have to make a choice.
Improved ride quality and 1” or less of front lift. Or lift at the expense of too much suspension preload and reduced droop..
I’m disappointed. I literally just cancelled my order for the eibach kit..
there isn’t anything sub $2,000 for levelling the Tremors..

So riddle me this… I just heard from a buddy who just put the Eibach stage 2 on his Platinum F150. With 295 70 18. His front end at top of fender well arch is at 41.5 now.

He didn’t take before measurements, but I worked backwards comparing the 38.5” on my stock Tremor and he got 3.5” lift (even after accounting for increased tire height). How?

This sums things up quite nicely. Same conclusion I have come to. It would be nice if someone made something that provides 2 legit inches of lift FOR A TREMOR, similar factory like handling qualities on the road, capable enough off road, and that isn’t ridiculously expensive.

Probably maxed out and hasn’t settled yet
