Jan 10th Build Week Thread

Can’t believe a couple dealers in western Canada are trying to Sell 2021 tremor above msrp……not too many updates here today guess the crowd is upset delivery dates are pushed out
I’ve just been sleeping my days away trying to to make time go by faster.
It will be interesting to see in the coming weeks, who gets their special order trucks and if any of them were after the Jan 10th build date. I would think that one with a later build date could get shipped sooner if it required less chips. For instance, a 401a w/out trailer tow package with a 1/24 build date could get shipped sooner than a 401a w/ trailer tow with a 1/10 build date.
well I’ve got a 401 without trailer package Soo I’ll let you know.

No update or change on my rig….. Jan 27 is last window sticker update and still shows 5/3/22 delivery….and no start button on the app??, just wished they would do some sort of media release or notify owners about how they will complete our sleepy units in a empty lot😭

Being left in the dark is the worst part in all of this.

Well with these delays as I was suppose to have had my truck last week and sold my current ride I went out yesterday and purchased a 2022 Tundra Platinum that someone backed out of and should be in next week to my dealer.

DON'T worry I am still keeping the Tremor, at this point!

A guy needs his truck!

Dealer just called me and said they had an Antimatter 401 show up and he’s hiding it until I can come take a look. My stone gray 401 was delayed out another three months. Really tempted to pull the trigger but I’m sure I’ll have less room for price negotiation than if I stuck with my online order….I don’t know what to do?!?

Go look at it and just see, if it's just the color that's different then offer him what The same price your other truck cost, he has yours coming in eventually.

I just refreshed ford tracker and have now unfortunately gone from estimated deliver of 2/28/2022 all the way to 5/9/2022. I am guessing chip hold but I do not know. Sucks but oh well nothing we can do but wait I guess.
Yup, my blend date was 1/21. It went into production on 1/21. I know it's built because I can see data for the BCE modules. A week or so ago, my dealer confirmed it was on hold for a chip and now the tracker just updated to a 5/20/22 delivery date. Sucks big time!

Would love to hear what you think of the Tundra… I sold my 2017 a few months ago. Tundra was the closest competition for my $ besides the Tremor

No offense but they backed out after reading all the bad reviews, most likely. The new tundras are having some major first year issues, and to boot they didn't get very good ratings from the magazines that tested them. Don't think I am anti-toyota either because I'm far from it, just stating what I have seen recently.

I’ve heard there have been issues with the waste gate in the Turbo’s… so ya, wondered how he liked it.

Just swung by my dealership. The truck was already on hold for friends of the dealership owner…however they mysteriously didn’t have to pay the $500 hold deposit. After talking to the manager, I was able to swoop in and put a deposit down.

Even after all of that I still couldn’t take the truck home and I still find myself waiting because the truck is going to be used in a parade by the dealership on the 19th. It was tough giving up my ordered stone gray but I really like the antimatter blue.… Especially if I throw some bronze fuel rebel wheels and Mickey Thompson Baja Boss tires on it.

For your troubles in waiting have them put a ceramic coat on it, if it doesn't already, toss the vent visors or something in.

I had a dealer tell me 15k over sticker for a 2022 that has a vin/window sticker but hasn't been built yet(retail order) and I told him I think he's confused and the tremor isn't actually raptor last time I checked.

So I’m in the same predicament as a few others on here who has sold or is selling their transportation with the idea that our order would have been/or will be here on time. I’m thinking I need to explore other options now since I sold my 2016 f150 in December. I contacted my dealership and spoke to the guy I ordered with. My build week got pushed back from Feb 14th to Feb 28th. With the info some others have shared on here about chip shortage, I asked him about canceling my order so I could look elsewhere. He said I would lose my $500 deposit and advised me against canceling. You’d think since the delay is not our fault, they wouldn’t make me forfeit my $500. Anyone else exploring other options and would you lose your deposit as well?

Did you sign anything that said your deposit was non-refundable? If so, it might be hard to get it back.

I might recommend if they wont give your deposit back to not cancel the order just yet. Even if you are going to go elsewhere... Here is why.

I had a $1k down on a dealer inventory order, they even let me change the color (this was back in September.) Then this group comes along and I realize I can save a ton of money ordering through Granger. So I place a 2nd order through Granger and ask for my $1k back from the local dealership. They say, no can do... you signed a non-refundable deposit, which I did.

So I say "ok", and keep both orders coming. Then as soon as the dealer inventory order hit the lot, I asked in a different way... I said, "Hey, my plans have changed and I'm not sure this truck is going to fit my needs... could you guys want to sell this truck off your lot?" They said yes, and gave me my $1k back.

Might not work for you... but with the inventory shortage, I think your dealer will have a lot more motivation to give your deposit back when he has that truck on his lot then now we he has you locked into a future contract.

Agreed.

Another route would be to see if someone on here happened to want the same build you did and would want to grab your spot in line. May be a long shot but it may be worth it to someone to save a few months on the build timeline.

No I didnt sign anything othwr than my order sheet. That may bind me to a non refundable deposit I’m not sure. I told the salesman that I would wait a few weeks to see if the production goes through and he got better idea of the ETA to dealership before we discussed canceling my order. I see what you are saying DAL220A though and that makes sense. Thanks for the response

Well that's a positive in your favor! I signed something that said "$1000 non-refundable deposit" given on this date.

Hey guys so some interesting news.
Ford will be stopping production next week due to the chip shortage and they haven’t announced when they will re-start. At the same time they are expecting a large chip delivery the following week so I am hoping that they will get the chips and put them in the trucks that are already produced and then re-start the plant… Fingers Crossed, At least something is happening!

That does sound like good news! Can I ask where you heard the info?
